Same combo in my dad NPD/BPD. I'm probably going to be in therapy of some form for the rest of my life in order to maintain stability. Mental health is a #1 priority for me.

If there were more 6'2"+ guys I'd probably look for that too. Wish I was shorter sometimes 😂

Exactly. I actually think the concept of thinking women want to even in committed relationships comes from porn... I hate how much porn has leaked into society.

This is tricky... because the guy I'm with now is amazing but in school right now so he doesn't have a ton of money. He's still willing to spend on me, has a very solid plan for launching his career in a year, doesn't expect me to spend for him/support him, and all around amazing personality, supports me emotionally etc. So it will be hard to discern if he's worthwhile. If you do go, find out his plan. If it sounds ridiculous or poorly thought out don't even bother. If it goes well, stay alert t…

Definitely! I feel like it's important to analyze character either way. People can be scummy and poor, scummy and middle class, anything.

There's some research out there on this, but yeah the sheer volume of porn is enough to make me vomit... examples: Money made from alternate revenue streams vs the video itself, partial videos that lead to paid content, videos of real violence posted not primarily for financial gain but because certain men are sociopaths, videos used as advertisement by pimps. Some paid content is for those porn users who like to feel "ethical" so they pay for "ethical" porn, or want to watch longer films with "…

I have legitimately never met a guy who was 5'2", that would have been a bit of a shock 😂. And I totally agree with you, it's really hard to tell someone's height from photos especially if they are the only one in it! I feel like asking weight is a low-key insult to try to be like "oh you're shallow about height, well I'm shallow about weight! So who doesn't measure up now??" Even though like you said, you can see how I look. The weight thing is also wierd to me because I look very different at …

This should be stickied/added to the wiki. So.many.women. don't realize what a huge red flag it is for anyone over thirty to pursue someone under thirty not within like a 3-5 max age range. Late 20s with early 20s/teens more than 5 year age range is still a red flag to me. Proceed with caution.

Check his text messages (I think you can search for media files), his email, if he has anything like dropbox or one drive on his phone where he might have backed it up. Make sure there isn't a trash/recycling bin in his gallery after you delete the photo where he can recover it. Check social media messages where he might have sent/saved them. Have him switch his phone to the private setting so you can see if there are hidden photos in his gallery. (He's had time to prepare) then pray he didn't a…

This.should.be.pinned.!!! Seriously, you hit so many great points here! My relationship works for me because... (sorry for the formatting, on mobile) - He always drives to me. - He is reliable & consistent. - He speaks my two love languages intentionally: acts of service & words of affirmation. - I do not cook, clean or do any other chores/errands etc on his behalf. He does, however, cook for me. - He makes me orgasam first, at least once usually more, before PIV because I can't orgasam from tha…

I work in anti-sex trafficking advocacy and I can tell you from my work with survivors: the chances of you seeing minors forced into porn, actually rape, etc on "mainstream" porn is VERY high. You absolutely ARE supporting the rape of children by consuming porn. Even consuming non-rape porn, fuels other types of rape porn. Porn consumption then escalates into real life violence with partners, strangers or "prostitutes" (or children being forced to prostitute themselves). The problem is rampant. …

To me, not ENTHUSIASTICALLY demonstrated by body language and expression THRIUGHOUT an encounter is a "no". Stop 👏 coercing 👏 and 👏 guilting 👏 people 👏. And let's all support the women in our life in saying "no", 1000% agree!

Where those heels girl 👏👏👏 find a confident man. Guy I'm dating now is 6'~6'1" and specifically "loves tall(er) women" (I'm 5'7" and he said he'd date taller. I wear 3-4" heels, no problem.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/01/20 07:13 AM

Yeah but I've been picked up (not to a bedroom, but some guys really like to carry people idk why) by guys only a couple inches taller than be (like 2 or 3"). So they don't have to be that tall.

And on Bumble you can set height as a filter ;)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/01/20 07:08 AM

I don't put a height requirement but I do point out my height in the bio ("Disclaimer: I'm 5'7") even if it's somewhere else in the profile. It's a decent talking point and men self select out (I've only used OLD very briefly and got tons of matches, no one with any problem with my height). When the platform allows it, I just set height as a requirement.

I'm 5'7" and even get that little irritation over average height 5'4ish girls who date 6'+ and dont understand why I PREFER to be with someone I can wear heels with and at the least be an equal height (I love high heels). I have absolutely dated shorter, but my preference is 6+. Distribution wise, 5'4" women match with 5'9" men (in the USA). 5'7" matches with 6'. I don't actually care who dates who, just that other people feel the need to verbally express judgment for the preference, like you di…

Absolutely this. No healthy 30+ male I know would date that young. The internet loves to normalize it, but once someone is 30, women under 25ish are definitely in a completely different place in life.

Read your other posts and I'm so proud of you!!! Here's some friendly advice moving forward: -do NOT share your sexual history under any circumstances moving forward. Do not share about this past relationship. Guys will expect to be able to abuse you in the same ways. - set sexual boundaries that benefit you now and stick to them. No anal if you don't want it, no oral on him unless he does it first & gets you off (for me, I NEVER do oral because I don't want to). Your pleasure is more important …

For me, it all depends on the relationship I have with the person. Sometimes I think they just aren't right for me, but could be for someone else so I'll give them feedback if I think it will help them be a better partner to the next one (I date a lot of awkward types). If I don't know them well, or they are disrespectful, they don't really care abs won't internalize what you say anyway, so I'm not going to waste my time explaining.

Yeah I don't know if it was necessarily low effort (sounds like it, I guess he could have asked her general area?). But it DOES scream "close to my place so I can lure her back for sex".

I agree with what was said. You don't want to be too blunt & off-putting. Just set the boundary in your own mind and don't put yourself in a vulnerable situation like being at his place. Maybe try a date without drinking involved to stay clear.

I agree with you. I just read a study not too long ago that talked about how higher incomes are associated with being less empathetic. But it wasn't gender-specific.

It's a choice. It's because they CAN be this way. They "get away with it". Why be any different? They won't until there's consequences. Empathy is cultivated and they choose not to.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/01/20 04:47 AM

I feel like it probably depends on your priorities. You don't want to get into a relationship with someone who is harmful/ drains you/ is abusive. If this is happening, I'd definitely try therapy. But if it isn't affecting you or your life negatively at the moment and there are more pressing issues, you could address those first. High self worth / self esteem would be my first priority, but you might already have that.

Yeah but I would say that pressuring/guilting/"punishing" with silent treatment or whatever are all forms of coercion as well. Just typically more common/effective in the context of dating and relationships. Still insidious and not ok.

I really understand how you feel. I've been in a similar situation where I put up with subpar behavior, lack of effort, refusal to speak my love languages etc for YEARS because I really cared about this guy and thought he was overall a good person. I didn't want to leave because being around him helped ease my loneliness and anxiety. But he was not interested in changing and ultimately that are away at my self esteem. It DRAINED me. Subtlety, over time. That's why I encourage you to leave now. B…

This makes so much sense to me then from what you said. The unavailable, "nonserious" guys feel comfortable to you because you also feel emotionally distant. I get that.

Agree with this. Decline this specific type of date. If you aren't ready to be intimate /aren't comfortable and committed or whatever, you might be set up for a high-pressure or even dangerous situation

Same thought. This was also so graphic, feels very male tbh, but it might just be a reflection of the manipulation the OP experienced instead? Idk. Advice is lose this guy. Why was he so comfortable being violent anyway? Lose him.

Controversial opinion but.. BPD people actually tend to have their best relationships with other BPD people and terrible relationships with everyone else. It's actually part of the diagnosis. Abuse statistics from BPD are very high, unfortunately. Especially with fairly common co'morbid NPD. Be careful. They might be better off finding someone with their same attschedment style and you almost certainly will be. (I love my many BPD friends but they simply do not thrive in relationships with peopl…

Agree, you ALSO don't owe him a BJ even if he DOES go down on you. At least get a hand/toy down there. No orgasm? No PIV, definitely no BJ (I personally don't do them at all, but to each their own, zero judgment!! Just know you never owe them ANYTHING).

Also I'd like to add, if he threatens to kill himself, give him a suicide hotline number or tell him to call the police and do not continue the discussion. Only a professional is equipped to deal with that if he is serious, and if he isn't he is just manipulating you and that's unacceptable.

Agree with this. He is gaslighting you HARD. He is financially abusing you. He is taking advantage of you. He has NO incentive to behave any differently. You are taking care of everything, so why should he change? Look I'm dealing with all sorts of health issues (depression, anxiety, cPTSD, you name it), but I take responsibility for them and put in the hard work to get help. He is not trying and he has no reason to change. He is giving you no indication that he will and is treating you like CRA…

Idk fixing stuff and money wouldn't make up for it if he actually WAS treating her like crap... but if we believe him.. yeah should have invested in his marriage. Absolutely this. The people I've known who have been very young/inexperienced when an older man wanted to date then were ALWAYS taken advantage of or treated badly in some way and their lack of experience kept them in the relationship WAY too long. You don't have much to compare to right now so you might not see the red flags but it is ~usually a bad sign.

As far as going against core beliefs - this is why porn use is a deal breaker to me. For me personally, I've spent years doing anti-human trafficking work and I don't want porn supported in/by my life in anyway. This is a remarkably difficult deal breaker to have, and that alone bothers me.

Generally speaking, both women AND men more often go to women for emotional support. Women more frequently carry the emotional burden of both (even in a work setting). Women are also more likely to provide emotional support unprompted (they see distress and respond) than men. Men are also more likely to trivialize the emotions/distress of women. Even though women are statistically more likely to experience severe stress and anxiety. This is related to the "emotional labor" topic that has been so…
