Marriage has always been primarily an economic relationship. In pre-modern eras it was much more so, because pretty much everything we now pay others to do for us used to be done in the home. Capitalism has relieved us of the need to be able to do our own butchering, clothes making, and carpentry, but it has not changed the terms of marriage so that it's no longer worthwhile for men. Agree pretty much completely. I'm independent-libertarian and did not vote for Trump, but I like what he's done. And I believe the law was fairer before VAWA: violence in the home was judged just like violence outside the home, based on factors such as provocation, and women who made accusations and then recanted weren't threatened with prosecution for perjury. I want that situation back (and besides, domestic violence isn't in the list of Congress' enumerated powers).

Unfortunately, the police don't seem to keep records of accusations that they brush off immediately as non-credible, and from those I've talked with, most rape reports are in that category. For me, it depends on the club and what is going on there. Some places are just too loud, too crowded, or full of people that are just not for me. So I hop to the next bar and recon that. In our evolutionary past it made sense for women to latch onto the baddest bully-boy around. Today, men like that are a bad deal; they are more likely to go to prison, die, beat her up, or all three. Which only shows that women, as well as men, can't entirely trust their instincts. We have some instincts we need to unlearn.

Good advice. I'm a tax professional, and have seen cases like this. If she helped finance your business, she may very well own a piece of it even if that wasn't the deal you intended to make. (Which is not to say you should never decide to share a business with an SO or spouse, but certainly don't do it by accident!)

No. The rights the law is denying us are subtle things like the right not to be presumed guilty whenever there's a report of DV or rape, and the right not to be subject to debtor's prison for choices we didn't get to make. It seems to me that sex is part of the marriage deal. If I were married and my wife decided she didn't want sex any more, I might or might not leave her, but at the very least I'd let her know she can no longer expect "fidelity", and if that's a problem for her, she can go away. (The worst thing about no-fault divorce laws is that they ended divorce-with-fault cases, so you have to give her half the property and half the income even if she's clearly the at-fault party.)

File charges against them for falsely reporting you. Let them suffer the same expenses and problems defending themselves as you're having to. Then look up "legal aid" in the local phonebook. Those are serious charges and despite what they say, the courts will presume you guilty because you're a man.

You married her, so you agreed to be responsible for her kid. But it sounds like you're more than holding up your side of the bargain, and you are entitled to your new life. As far as her wanting to relocate, have you considered asking for sole custody? It would make her the one who has to pay child support, and who has to ask your permission to come visiting Junior (probably much less often after she moves). Depending on what each of the homes are like, it may be better for the child as well.

I agree, but I would not reveal the vasectomy until trial day, or at least not until some time after I last slept with her. After all, if she decides to retroactively turn that sex into "rape", most cops and judges will believe her word against yours. But if she doesn't report a rape until after they have heard from you, then maybe it won't fly.
