I'm aware of how unfair the family courts are, but usually they favor the mothers. They have to, of course, follow the state's precedents, but there's a lot of leeway apparently for judges to do whatever they want. I'd bet ya that OP won't be getting alimony, but he will be paying child support even though it will hopefully be close to a 50/50 split. Obviously, this depends on how much more she makes. Suicide, while still shameful, doesn't have the same societal stigmas as it did back then (i.e. one way ticket to eternal hell). Honestly, shit like this makes us look bad. I can only speak for myself, but I could absolutely care less about whether a woman cleans or cooks or even loves giving head or three-somes. Your arguments are no longer valid in 2016. Everyone is in debt and the cost of living is enormous. I don't know any guys, RP or not, who want to limit their partner having a great career. Instead, we are seriously tired of what more commonly happens - wife stops working or cuts down, stops paying her school loans, continues to spend, and later decides to go her own way and take a huge part of the guy's savings and income.
