That was heartbreaking to read. I'm glad that someone is willing and able to be his voice, and I hope his children will find out the truth when they're older. I just hope they have someone there for them who can help them cope with the knowledge of why their dad had to resort to such drastic and tragic measures.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I heard that it's illegal to place mail in a USPS mailbox without postage. I'd check on the legality before worrying about the morality.

Exactly. I remember when I started seeing that nonsense pop up on t-shirts around my school because "it's like SO. FUNNY.!!!" And dissenting only made me a target of the feminist rage. This was over a decade ago. I can't imagine what high school must be like now, in the bleak post-sanity world of Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham.

OP clarified, saying he wasn't admitted into the department of Engineering. I can also confirm that this is how the university my husband attends runs things. If he had been a freshman, or if his GPA from his prior degree hadn't been high enough, he wouldn't have been admitted into the College of Engineering straight away. He would have been able to take some of the classes, but he would have been restricted. So, as OP clarified, I have no reason to doubt this.

if you don't have a high passion for it you're not going to do well. That's the biggest problem I see with so much focus on "women in STEM". So true. I have known many woman who either 1. spent so much time, energy, money, etc. to get halfway through their STEM degree and ended up changing their minds halfway through or 2. spent even more time, energy, money, etc. actually finishing their degree and then hating it and leaving the field ASAP... I believe it. My husband and I both started earning second degrees in engineering and the number of scholarships available to me (female) were astronomical.
