Happy Father’s Day gents! Taking my boys 19 & 15skeet shooting in a bit, then NY strip steaks for dinner. I asked them to plan the meal and we can cook it together. They found a recipe for a blackened strip steak with corn on the side.

Tell her you’re going out of town to visit your groomsmen buddies and the pets are her responsibility. You can have a life of your own now too

Does she know where you work? If so the process server will come there and serve you in front of your coworkers. Is being served a part of the process in your area? If so, you could just get it over with, or you could serve her. There seems to be some good advice on this sub saying serving her is beneficial. Good luck to you. Stay strong

Copy and pasted because I’m not great with links. To file a civil lawsuit over malicious prosecution, you must be able to hold someone liable for initiating a civil or criminal charge against you while being fully aware that the claims behind the charge were false or weren't reasonably true, and had a wrongful purpose in being made. Civil suit being aware that the charge was false. She should be aware of the terms of your settlement. Lawyers in my area bill at $500/hour. I would counter sue for …

I would consider counter suing her for time spent defending the lawsuit. At a very high hourly rate. I’m a bit of an asshole though.

It depends. Are you looking for something short term? If so, tits and ass. Are you looking longer term? If so vet the hell out of them. Once you’ve vetted her slow it down and observe. If you’re looking permanent, consider a prenup. Only you can prevent forest fires.

I mean it both ways. This group has given me insight, hope, a few nasty stories that (I hope are preparing me for what’s to come), and honesty. It’s a great place to find a bit of support. And I’m in the early stages off my own divorce and you’re right, it’s miserable. Stay strong, find hope in threads like this one, but mostly don’t give up.

It’s the stages of grief. I didn’t believe it when a buddy told me I’d go through it, but he was spot on. Just remember that you may cycle through them again as your situation changes and the process advances. Best of luck.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
