You have to move with the herd, didn't you know?! Group think!

I don't think she was attempting to be logical, here. People use whatever reasoning they want to type others. Suffice it to say though, she was not the only woman I've seen do this. So I wouldn't expect her to be the last.

One woman called me a creep, because i don't use it. So, maybe?

Just want to point out that not wanting to draw attention to yourself can also be a true reflection of your feelings. I generally don't want to draw attention to myself, because I generally prefer to remain enigmatic.

Fecundity is the idea you are thinking of. In nature, fitness tends to follow a bell curve, meaning that there are few individuals at the very upper end. Men tend to approach those individuals less, since they assume the work needed is too great for the reward.

That's not really true. I've been approached in very explicit ways more than once, and I'm not particularly attractive (and least, in my opinion). Some women are just bold, and they know what the numbers game they play, will always be in their favor.

Yeah, we are pretty much the same. The more extroverted, effusive and "relationship-focused" the person is, the less interested I am in talking to them. On the flip side, I'm really comfortable around people who are quiet, reserved, relatively unaffected and maybe even a little misanthropic. Almost all of my good female friends have this personality type. I need to find more of them.

I dont think that its quite so simple. This discussion is missing a key component; people everywhere (including you and me) may be aware of perception differences between others. But, they want to project their own perception of themselves, others and the world, onto everything else. To use your example, I have seen a number of smart people be called stupid by others. And in some cases, those smart people (smart though they may be), attempted to change the other persons perception of them, even …

Could you elaborate on those symptoms? I have to force myself to interact with new people. Always have. I'm generally apathetic about making connections, as well.

When this happens, you have to have a bunch of sellers. Women aren't a commodity. Having multiple to pick from means you get to choice who and how much. What others are paying doesn't matter because any 1 woman is always replaceable.

Id argue this is, at most, a correlation. However, i dont think the linked article is anything but. Dare i suggest that many of those intelligent virgins are so because they focus their efforts on things perceived to be the product of or "conducive" to traditional intelligence but do not cade much for developing their emotional intelligence?

Whatever she's doing, it seems to be working. If you want to stick with it, change the frame to make things more fulfilling for you. Since you're doing all the work, go to places you enjoy AND where you know you can be comfortable and make an enjoyable date. In the end, where things end up will be your choice. I personally wouldnt want anything more than sex from a woman like this but, that's just me projecting. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Are you CERTAIN you want to be exclusive with this woman? I dont know you or her but, you havent given us any reason to think the investment and the one-itis are worth it. IMO, a woman has to SHOW me shes worth it. And putting in effort is part of that. But, to each their own.

Thats pretty typical. I use it as a selection factor, as it were. The women worth keeping around for something more intimate are the ones who are active about spending time and sharing things with me. The others are flings, only. Perhaps you could consider doing something similar?

Well, it's not so much that I date women who cannot afford the lifestyle they want or, I live. It's the expectation. I needed to reframe the interaction, while reducing my costs. The real problem is that I'm abroad for a 6 month exchange and I do not know my city very well.

Ah, you think? Damn. Ive never actually made a friend by being out at a bar or a club. I do talk to people at bookstores, im just saying that there are not enough opportunities for my liking.

Yes, photography classes sound like a good idea. Ive thought of trying before. I haven't been able to find anything at a convenient tims, though. Book stores and libraries are my prefferened place to buy books. The problem is that bookstores and libraries arent the best places to meet people. Everyones into their own thing. No one talks. I dont see it any differently than cold approaching someone on the street. Any other ideas? Im not particularly creative with these sort of things.

You've got it. The cashing part is what I don't get. Particularly because I can and have gone without developing feelings for women I've slept with, regularly. Nice example. Thanks.

Interesting analogy. I understand this well and do it when appropriate. My point though was more that gaming seems to create a dichotomy that can bias you towards one end and away from another. Since I'm the kind of person who need active planning and effort to attract the women I want (most of the time), I'm usually in game mode. Though I may give 1 nickel, what is given is something that is filtered so as not to present myself in an unattractive way. For example, showing concern is a bit of lo…

Hmmm. Well, I'm not the sort of person for false pretense. What am is what she gets. However, I can and do choose when to show what, how much of it to show and how to frame it. I'm calm, collected and a bit mellow and so, I'm going to remain that way throughout. In my mind, piquing a stranger's interest is the same "challenge", no matter what your goals are. Of course, you have to frame it correctly but, internally, the same guarded approach exists. That tennant, as well as others, will apply no…

Didnt know racism was a shit test. Since I happen to be a part of that particular group, ill make sure to avoid women in the south. Thanks for the heads up!

Might these guys be projecting perfection by either ignoring their flaws or trivializing them? Being confident spite can really get people to ignore bad things.

But obvious and meaningless lol WAT? Right, variability to the human experience is obvious but, meaningless? Let's have every student of seduction go out and just not give a damn about the heterogeneity of the human experience. Hell, let's have every person in the world treat everyone EXACTLY the same........... Everyone is now the same. Yeah, great idea. Do you not get that I've been dealing with a CONTIMUUM since I posted in this tread, not a boolean arguement? The idea of introversion and ext…

I am talking about this particular specific idea. It's nothing more than a convenient way of explaining things. It's essentially a large scale extended metaphor that exists to categorize people consistently, but doesn't actually explain or predict anything about human behavior. it just puts a label on what's already there. See my other post. Also, this exists a lot in the academic and psuedo-academic world. And, even in both places, there is nothing necessarily wrong with building metaphores, as…

Oh, sure. Psychology, as a whole, is regarded a such, by many academics. I took issue with your bit about there not being any evidence to suggest that humans may lie on a continuum of interpersonal behavior. That's just ridiculous and laughable. Ancedotally, some people are more gregarious than others, both depending on the situation, company and the persons mood. You can change the name, you can attribute it to other environmental/personality factors, you can say it's artificial, but the fact r…

Who said anything about friends? I certainly didn't. I was talking about people. I interact with LOTS of people who are not my friends, daily. I realize psychology is more of a "soft science" but, like I said, this dichotomy is an established part of the modern discipline. I mean, if you don't want to do any research (which, it seems, you haven't), all you have to do is look at the bottom of the Wikipedia article on the topic. There are links to a number of academic papers discussing this.
/r/seduction06/05/13 05:47 PM

Also, what is hypothetical about this dichotomy? It's an established dimension of multiple, personality theories.

I NEVER said otherwise. You see, I wasn't suggesting a causation but, a correlation. Lots of introverted people I know tend to be more cerebral than their extraverted counter parts. Understand?

I've tried but, I think it's still a bit more difficult than joining clubs/events that attract such women.
/r/seduction06/05/13 05:37 PM

I do, indeed know what you're talking about. I'm at the point where I can get people to recognize that I really like being cerebral very quickly but, not so much as to bore them. It's cool that it usually engenders respect and a bit of admiration but, that alone won't make the panties drop. Additionally, it just isn't enough to satisfy me. To make matters worse, I have fairly high physical standards, if only because I know what I can get. If you guys think hot girls with great personalities are …

Yeah, I know they are out there. The issue is that they are rare, just as my preferences are unusual. While I'm unappologetic about my passions and interests, I do resent the fact that I need to change the way I relate to people, just to catch women's attention. Women that work the way I do are out there but, I think they are truly rare.

Another introvert here. I'd also like to say that being an introvert isn't really am impediment, either. However, this "emotional dance" that women like to do is something I've found to be unfulfilling, the intellectual dance needs to come first. And that is something I find women never want to do. I'm not sure if that's a result of my introversion, or not. Any thoughts, fellow introverts?
/r/seduction06/05/13 01:23 PM

Well of course. This isn't the only way I meet women. I want to work this avenue, just as I work other ones.

This is really important, in any group. Also know that you can add value to any group be adding experiences/knowledge that the group can appreciate. Also, not doing this isn't an introvert tendency, imo. I'm pretty thoroughly introverted but, I always add value to the groups I populate, if only because I only spend time with people that can and do appreciate who I am and what I have to offer. However, I do need to learn how to appreciate and be appreciated by more people but, that's another thre…
