We all totally do, but if you're like me where you want something completely different than what you've been given, then there's a little more work to do. This is compared to the guy who will settle for less even though that's another form of running away and avoiding.

Personally i believe both are important, meditation will always have a place in my heart as it is a place to rest from thought. But conscious thinking is still immensely better than mindless brain chatter

Exactly!! I actually lean more towards absurdism more then nihilism but I'm on the same boat. At one point I realized all these petty arguments, all this time spent on Twitter, all these bull shit emotional highs are just me distracting myself from what life really is. And life is not pretty. It can get so ugly and boring and weird, but now I'm able to cherish it because I will die. I have to die. And if that's the case I better dive as deep into the pussy of life as I can go!

I don't like guided meditations cause I'm a piece of shit haha. I like just sitting and breathing and being still. It's like the only "me" time I really get in the day and I'm really thankful for it

Breath meditation or samatha is the easiest and best place to start. Usually want to start with that. If you like it you can learn about other styles. I usually focus on my breath and as thoughts and sensations pass by I see them and come back to the breath. The first few times you'll notice you'll get like two breaths and then your mind will wander for like a whole minute... That's not bad, it's actually good. As long as you sit, breath, and casually come back to the breath when you notice

I don't wanna get too hippy on you.. But it teaches you a lot. It teaches you to not need. It teaches you to be present. It teaches you how to enjoy life for what it is not what you want it to be. And it all bleeds into different areas of your life. Dude when I get shit tested now I barely even flinch. Like for some reason it doesn't phase me. You're looking to fill a hole inside yourself dude. We all do it to some extent with a lot of stuff. My answer to most questions is to meditate. Honestly in just about two months, I can look at most things that used to mean so much to me and see them for what they really are. When we get weirdly attached to girls in this way, were running away from loneliness. We're running away from reality. And if we can break this cycle in any means necessary, we can realize that it just doesn't fuckin matter…
