So for you femininity makes a man less attractive. Does the reverse work for women? Would you prefer a feminine cisgendered woman over a masculine one?

Do you use that as a pickup line? "Hey baby. I got 5000+ karma multiple gilded original submissions on various trp accounts. Wanna fuck?"

You can say whatever you want but sexual attraction works in preductable ways. How many "straight" guys have sucked dick for coke? How many "straight" guys have had sex in prison?

We are discussing the behavior in OP. People can find that creepy whether or not they have ever heard of PUA, TRP, or the related language.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/16 06:55 PM

99% of people have never heard of "amused mastery". That is just a "they hate us cause they ain't us" response. The sense of "creepiness" is a physiological response, like the crawling of the skin sensation when you see a live spider or a dead rat. People don't "decide" to be creeped out. They just are. Your response is just an attempt to avoid addressing a real issue by minimizing and deflecting.

Follow up question. Rank in order which you would you rather sleep with: 1) A cisgender woman 2) A transgender woman 3) An attractive gay man (he has volunteered his body for science) 4) A very effeminate non-threatening unattractive straight man 5) A masculine but unattractive straight man

An incel is someone who is not mentally, emotionally, or socially capable relating to the opposite sex in a way that leads to consensual sexual relationships. A virgin is someone who has never had sex before.

I think it is very useful. Fail happens when people assume that alpha = attractive and beta = unattractive. In fact, different women find different combinations of alpha and beta attractive at different times. The advice "always be more alpha to be more attractive" only worked because it happened to be given to the most desperately beta of the betas.

I don't think it is necessarily wise to press for exact equality in all details, especially where a minimum sentence is involved. That is because mandatory minimum sentences are terrible and almost always highly politicized. We have already seen their abject failure in drug sentencing. Juries will be reluctant to send a woman to jail for 3 years for fondling a guy's dick, so they will prefer to acquit if no lower level punishment is available. Do you see how this sends the message to men that th…

Universal Basic Income for all individuals + Universal health care, child care, quality year round schooling with 3 meals a day and after school programs for kids. The inequalities in welfare state can be corrected and will have benefits for all of society. Men and women are free to participate in the labor force. All children will have a decent standard of living regardless of who their parents are. Both sexes will maintain reproductive autonomy. Meanwhile, the current child support system is r…

Phrase it in terms of sexual assault / battery: unwanted sexual touching of or by the genitals. Everyone has the right to the sexual integrity of their body.
/r/MensRights03/09/16 05:07 PM

Under the language of the law, it covers “penetration with a foreign object” which can include fingers. Given the obvious physical differences between a man and woman, this law is biased against Men who are the natural “penetrators” during a sexual act. Gender neutral in wording, not so in fact.

Why should society have to pay for your fuck up? 1) The propagation of the human race is not a "fuck up". 2) This logic is only applied to the sexual decision making of men and never to the sexual decision making of women.

Well if you were propositioned 100 times a week I would say that 30% might be low and you should be turning down even more. It would make sense. If you are offered sex only once a week and turn it down 30% of the time I would wonder why a healthy adult male would have such a low libido.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/16 11:10 PM

If you could give me a number of times you were offered sex and a number of times you turned it down say in a typical week, that would really help me wrap my head around this. What would you say the average number would be?

In the original the woman consented to being perpetrated. In your version the man didn't consent to being penetrated. Maybe if he met a hot girl, agreed to get pegged and then found out that she had a dick.

Good analysis but you are assuming that men and women get the same amount of sympathy in the same situation. Not so. A woman in a wheelchair will get more sympathy than a man in a wheelchair. A woman who is homeless will get more sympathy than a man who is homeless.

To make it equivalent she should have offered to receive anal sex. Then while the guy was fucking her in the ass he noticed that she had a penis. Easy case: no rape.

Be realistic, how often does that really happen for guys? I can think of only twice in my life where that happened. Once I was so tired I was falling asleep on my feet and the other time I was deathly ill. Any other time I turned down sex it was because I wasn't attracted to the person offering.

It’s akin to simply loitering around a business complex hoping you will get a job. Is funny that you are so dismissive of this. This is exactly how most women get laid. Not only will they get a job hanging around the business complex, while they are waiting they will get 13 emails with unsolicited job offers, 2 phone calls from long lost acquaintances that have heard they are in the job market and will offer them a position and 5 guys will drive by and yell out their window "Hey baby! Supply and demand. Is it possible that there are amazingly attractive, successful, interesting women with great personalities that have an extreme fetish for fat, unemployed, socially retarded men? Nope. I enjoy approaching women. Even a "failed" conversation is a memorable learning experience. Worst case scenario I've lost a few minutes of my time. Failed business ventures for people who do not have adequate support structures means loss of income, lost homes, personal debt, lack of medical coverage, inability to feed their children and foregone career opportunities. The reward must match the risk, and the risk for some people is literally life and death.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/16 12:18 AM

Lol. I have no problem approaching women. I also have no problem investing in index funds over picking individual stocks because statistically that gets the best return even if it's less risky. Investment is not a dock waving contest where the riskiest investor wins bragging rights. Exactly why your attitude is so hypocritical for a red piller. Ignore reality because it makes you feel good rather than face facts as they are. Realizing that entrepreneurship is unfeasable for most people does not mean you do nothing. Anecdotes notwithstanding, the research indicates quite the opposite: Entrepreneurs don’t have a special gene for risk—they come from families with money University of California, Berkeley economists Ross Levine and Rona Rubenstein analyzed the shared traits of entrepreneurs in a 2013 paper, and found that most were white, male, and highly educated. “If one does not have money in the form of a family with money, the chances of becoming an entrepreneur drop quite a bit,” Levine tells Quartz. Wealthy and upper middle class aren't measured in dollar amounts. If you don't have to work for a living you are wealthy. If your parents are educated and provided with a middle class life style growing up you are upper middle class. Koum clearly was financially secure enough that he was able to take a year off to travel south America and play ultimate Frisbee before he started WhatsApp.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/16 12:32 AM
5

False. Most entrepreneurs are born with the social and economic capital to take risks. It's almost exclusively the upper middle class that go to top schools, can afford to take unpaid internships, have business connections, and enough of a safety net that they can take risks. Entrepreneurship is how the somewhat wealthy become very wealthy due to luck and hard work.

It's not indicating that you are undesirable. Its pointing out a flaw, i.e. piercing the ego bubble. Negging is actually the most effective against very attractive women.

Because women that use sex and gifts as a tool for manipulation are not worth committing to.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/16 04:55 PM

My experience and understanding of negging is the complete opposite. You insult her and she either laughs, feigned anger, says "you're so meeeeaannn", or playfully hits you in the arm. You deflate her ego but at the same time building both comfort and attraction, no mean feat if you can pull it off. How is your version supposed to be effective? What is the chain of events that leads from you genuinely insulting her to getting in her pants?

"Just to be clear I am exclusively interested in sex and will never want a relationship from a woman no matter how long I've been having casual sex with her." That is exactly what OPs mom is suggesting. I'm glad you agree that it is absolutely horrible advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/16 05:32 PM
1

Do they literally say "I am only interested in casual sex", especially a guy, especially before establishing any kind of connection or relationship? No. You infer from the fact that you found each other on fetlife and are meeting for the first time doing tequila shots at a dive bar in the tenderloin.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/16 05:20 PM
1

I think you misunderstand the discussion here. Everyone wants casual sex. Everyone has casual sex. But very rarely will anyone say "I'm only here for the casual sex" even though everyone knows that is exactly what is going on. And that's in the kink scene. If you think you are going to roll into a first date with a stranger and say "Right off the bat, I'm only here for casual sex" you are in for a bad time. Even if you met on Tinder and your profile pic is a topless selfie it's "I'm just looking…

Dude. IT. DOESN'T. MATTER. I've toured porn studios and nobody admits that they have seen the films made there. I've gone to erotic art shows where people pretend to talk about the brush strokes. Leather and bondage stores where everyone is "just looking". It has absolutely nothing to do with being sex positive. It's just being coy. A different way of communicating.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/16 04:04 PM

If you play repeated times with the same partner then it's not really casual sex anymore: chicken and egg. If you get to know each other well you could say "it's business time" to mean that you are interested in no strings attached sex but that is pretty useless advice to someone you haven't already established a relationship with. I'm not sure if anyone's solved an iterated prisoner's dilemma for large groups of people yet. They haven't. It's literally a huge field of study on its own that enco…

Personally, I've found it off-putting when a date seems to be exclusively seeking an LTR. Do you think such a person would be well served by telling you on a first date "My biological clock is ticking. I need babies now!", even if it were 100% the truth? Even though many women are thinking it, only OAG says something like that. If that is terrible advice for women, why would you tell men to come out and say then only want casual sex?

But everyone does lie about it. That is the standard; it is expected. Telling one person to buck the trend is fine when you are not the one to suffer the consequences which is what makes it bad advice. It has nothing to do with the social desirability of casual sex. It's a collective action problem. Everyone would benefit if everyone were completely honest about their desire for casual sex. However, some people can lie and thereby gain an advantage in the sexual marketplace. If other people are …

No offense but your mom has terrible advice. That is exactly the kind of solipsistic advice that is convenient for women and horrible for the man receiving the advice. It's a signaling problem. People who want casual sex don't say that they want casual sex so anyone who openly admits to only wanting casual sex is actually a depraved pervert that only sees you as a cum dumpster.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/16 06:09 PM

You read it but I lived it. "Low libido" is a compete misnomer. Cases of low libido with a physiological cause are the easy ones and generally the only ones that get solved. In the other cases you will often see that the "Low Libido" partner is masturbating frequently, cheating, or mysteriously regaining their libido as soon as they break up. Dead bedrooms are a symptom of broken sexual relationships that mainstream advice had been completely incapable of addressing.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/16 03:16 AM
3

"Desire discrepancies" is not a dead bedroom. We're not talking about where one person wants it 4 times a week and the other only wants it once a week. We are talking about people who have gone months or years without having sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/16 02:25 AM

That's why the "reality" version has a pretty much 0% success rate at curing dead bedrooms. The proof is in the pudding and the proof says that medical experts have no idea what they are talking about here.

I understand just fine. Expressing some kind of vulnerability is attractive when coming from a position of strength but it in no way defines Chad. A neckbeard is a neckbeard with or without a sob story. Chad is a Chad with or without a sob story. The point of attraction is the masculinity, confidence, assertiveness and good looks. I'm sure there is some optimal level of desire for neoteny. Too little and you wind up chasing grandmas after menopause. Too much and you wind up chasing little kids. Neither one will allow you to reproduce so the most evolutionarily successful level would be somewhere in between. Since there is genetic variation between people it's not surprising that there can be outliers.

So her molester had sex with her after she went through puberty and she had a child. Having sex with someone before they go through puberty by definition does not pass on your genes. Every time the molester had sex with her before that was evolutionarily pointless.

Statistically, pedophilia in general is an extremely rare abnormality that is an evolutionary dead end. No one passes on their genes by fucking prepubescent children. You may as well ask what the evo psych explanation for downs syndrome is.

Women have longer and thicker hair on their head than men therefore it is perceived as a feminine trait. Men have longer and thicker leg and armpit hair than women so it is perceived as a masculine trait. It's not rocket surgery.

You are wrong. Source: Law school.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/16 08:03 PM
1

I don't think you realize that affirmative defenses are actually written in to the law. They are part of the legal code. You can't say that the law hasn't changed. There was a behavior : having a sex with a person when that person subjectively did not consent but objectively a reasonable person would believe that she had consented. That was legal. Now it is illegal.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/16 07:36 PM
1

Under the old law it was still rape and still illegal. It was just possible to get out of being charged for that rape using the defense that you misunderstood. Now you don’t have that defense. Okay. So reasonably misunderstanding consent used to be legal. Now it is illegal.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/16 05:51 PM
1

If the consent was implied and she layer changes her mind how can you disprove it? With current implied consent laws at least you could point to her behavior and show that a reasonable person would have a implied from her actions that she consents. With a affirmative consent that becomes impossible because intent is purely subjective.

So women traditionally got married an had kids as soon as they had their first period. How does that change the argument? If anything it strengthens it. Before modern times sexuality was synonymous with child bearing and motherhood. That is no longer the case. The impetus for emotional maturation has been removed.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/16 11:59 PM
1

Modern in the historical sense, as in pre-medieval. In medieval times people married as young as 12 but didn't have their first child on average until 16. Young girls were responsible for raising their siblings. Puberty basically inducted women into a lifetime of childcare with all the attendant responsibilities.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/16 11:29 PM
1

Women mature when they bear children and become responsible for the life and death of several small human beings. In the pre-modern world this happened around 14. Modern women do not face such responsibility. A single childless woman in at twenty eight has never matured emotionally because she hasn't had to. For most of human history she would have been raising grandkids by then. It's like a kid that has a trust fund and never had to work a day in their life: permanent adolescence. A fundamental…

It literally specifically states that women stop maturing because of biology. Talking about whether it specifically mentions brains or not is merely semantics. It's not semantics at all. The title of OP is If women's brains stop developing in their teens, It says they do not mature because their bodies can physically bear children thus are destined for a social role of caring for children, not because their brains stop developing. Please, this is getting embarrassing.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/16 03:57 PM
4

That still does not say that a woman's BRAIN stops developing. while females mature earlier in life, they also stop maturing at around the age of eighteen "females mature". No mention of brain. The reason why women stop maturing at around the age of eighteen also has to do with their biological destiny as child-bearers "women stop maturing". AGAIN. No mention of brain. Women’s emotional proclivities are directly related to her childrearing duties which biology has assigned to her. "Women’s emoti…

It could be that there is some evolutionary benefit to longer vocal chords (a bigger trachea, therefore better aerobic fitness?). If longer vocal chords indicate fitness then why are men not attracted to women with deep voices? It could simply imply he is healthy. When people get sick the pitch of their voice doesn't go up. So is not changing the laws of consent, it's just making it so that the definition of consent is different than it was before?!? I don't think you have any idea what you are talking about. A crime is defined by a number of elements and each element has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. One element in the crime of rape is an absence of consent. If you change the definition of consent you change definition of rape.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/16 12:31 AM

Sadly...
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/16 12:26 AM

It clearly changes the definition because it changes what "consent" means. If anything it raises more questions that our answers. Specifically, which elements of the crime of rape will be easier to prove either in terms of evidence, law, or precedure?

Prosecuting rape is already a procedural nightmare. It is by far the most complex, difficult, and emotionally charged crime in a legal sense. Do you know some Law schools don't even cover rape in their first year criminal law classes because it would take an entire semester to cover it in its own? And then you want to add another completely subjective and completely unprovable element. Ever problem that now exists with the prosecution of rape will only be magnified.

Masturbation is sexual. If you were asexual you would have no sexual desire and thus no reason to masturbate. In fact, masturbation is a bigger indicator that you are not asexual even than having sex! You might have sex because you were pressured, or felt social expectation, or wanted to be emotionally close to some one or make them happy. But masturbation is ONLY about sexual pleasure.

The difference in brain scans is heavily documented. Behavioral differences (time spent looking at faces versus machines) has been shown in babies that are HOURS old. There is really no other remotely plausible explanation.

I know. It must be so confusing and difficult to understand as long as you are ideologically opposed to the idea that men and women's brains are biologically different and that the two sexes can therefore have different interests.

You can check out his work here or the original BBC survey on which it was based. They showed some of the data on the program Hjernevask. In Sweden at least there have been more women entering nursing and fewer entering engineering every year. In other words, as equality increases gender differences in employment also increases, to the point where the country with one of the highest levels of equality in the world has 90% female nurses and 90% male engineers.

Way to avoid the point. How many of the ass men, when asked by a woman, what do you find attractive will cry out "DAT ASS!"? I have my boundaries and what I consider appropriate behavior and I am not afraid to communicate those boundaries. Monogamy means more to me than just not touching your genitals to other peoples genitals. It means acting and speaking in a way that communicates respect to my partner. That is the standard I have for myself and that is the standard I expect in return. Your constant demeaning implication that it somehow makes me less of a man is frankly getting tiresome.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/16 09:19 AM

You must live in a weird world where actions happen out of context, the appearance of impropriety doesn't matter, and nothing ever happens because of the implication. Tell me, if you see your SO walking down the street hand in hand with an attractive man, even if she has never had sex with him, will you feel violated? Will you have reason to distrust her? Why or why not?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/16 08:58 AM

Deflect and ignore. If she is there to get trained and not fucked, why not get a female trainer? What if your girlfriend drove half way across town to get coffee every day from a starbucks that has a very very attractive barista when there are three other starbucks near by? Would that make you jealous? Would you be concerned? Sorry if you want to call having dignity and boundaries "pathetic jealousy". She is old enough to understand the consequences of her actions and can make up her own mind. Are you saying you would break up with your girlfriend if she chose to have sex with someone else? Is you ego so fragile that you would be possessive like that? Why so bitter and jealous? You should really just have more abundance mentality. I hear it is the secret to success in life. /r/PurplePillDebate18/05/16 06:28 AM

Abundance mentality will tell a 5 that there are plenty of other 5s out there for him. But hypergamy is real. If a woman can choose between a 5 and a 10, she is going to choose the 10 every time and no amount of abundance mentality is going to change that. Improving everyone's ego will just make all the 5s into 7s But hang on to that abundance mentality though. It's going to come in handy when you go back to the dating scene after you find semen stains on your girlfriend's yoga pants.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/16 06:05 AM

Do you really think Chad needs a bigger ego? It's all relative. If I am confident that makes me more secure and attractive. But if all men are more confident then they are all more secure and attractive. Abundance mentality in a zero sum game is about how well you are off compared to everyone else. If every man had a bigger ego we would be right back where we started.

I'm not even sure if you are being sarcastic. You do realize that the same ego that make men possessive, controlling, and jealous also makes them confident, assertive, and sexually aggressive? If all men had bigger egos then there would also be more for them to worry about from other men.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/16 04:46 AM

So why can't you hire a super attractive gardener or tax attorney then? Would that make her just as jealous? I think women won't date men that orbit other women because that makes the man unattractive. If he were fucking lots of other women the woman would be more attracted not less. So if you go through with your plan you will be less attractive to your woman who is now free to spend lots of intimate quality time with a very attractive dude. I don't think this plays out how you think it will.

Not a theoretical question. I'm bi so this is an existential reality for me. I exclusively date women but am equally attracted to and have had sex with both. The reason I think is because it is the gendered expressions of womanhood, femininity you might call it, that I find attractive on an emotional or psychological level. The red pill doesn't recognize this usually, but there is a positive upside to every negative trait they ascribe to women. Hypergamy drives me to be a better man, to achieve …

If you have a problem with custody laws, work to change them. Apparently, that would make me less of a man. You need women to sign up for a draft? Why? And yeah, I think worrying about that does Maske you less of a man. Yeah, we're done here.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 12:51 AM
9

Possibly. That would be more of a concubine than a plate. For me one of the defining features of a plate is that I don't care what she is up to when I'm not around. If I cared that would be one more thing on my mind and the whole arrangement would lose some of its appeal.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 12:46 AM

Legal equality. Like the legal equality in being required to sign up for the draft? Like the legal equality if having equal custody over children? How does fighting for those make you less of a man. You are the one equating gender roles and legal equality.

Toxic masculinity is any aspect or expression of masculinity that isn't directly beneficial to women or children.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 12:05 AM

This has nothing to do with women or femininity or equality. You are the one who equated fighting for gender equality for men with a failure of masculinity. If they have nothing to do with each other why did you bring it up, other than as a cheap ad hominem attack?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/16 12:00 AM
5

So anything other than 100% equality is subjugation of women. But men and women are not 100% equal because masculinity. But acting on that fact is not masculine. That logic is chasing it's trail pretty badly. It's the same old story: men and women are equal, except when they're not. In those cases men should suck it up and take one for the benefit of women. Are cakes for eating or for having? Make up your mind.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/16 11:54 PM

So why shouldn't my actions be treated equally as a woman's? Why would the same exact actions be good enough for a woman but because I have a penis dangling between my legs I have to "man up" and hold myself to a higher standard of behavior?

23

Thus proving OPs point. Men who fight for gender equality will never be respected therefore don't bother. I think it's hilarious that femenists have campaigned for years to end the use of gendered phrases like "man up" but when the talk comes to men's rights and men's issues telling men to "man up" is the first and last move in the play book.

Sorry, words have meanings and you can't just pull shit out of your ass: market value 1.The highest estimated price that a buyer would pay and a seller would accept for an item in an open and competitive market. In a sexual market price that a buyer is willing to pay is the attractiveness of the pussy that lands on his dick. That is the one and only measure or sexual market value. The measure of a man's smv is the sum of is his physical looks, with height, facial aesthetics, the perfection and t…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/16 09:57 PM
2

So then you agree that a measure of a man's SMV is the quality of women that will sleep with him. All that other stuff about height and hair and dongs is just your assumptions. If a guy looks like a troll but he is banging the hottest chicks then he has high SMV regardless of what your opinion of him is. Likewise if a guy looks like Adonis but can't even spear a land whale he has low SMV, even if you jerk off to him in your homoerotic fantasies.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/16 07:03 PM
2

The unit of measure of smv for men is height, facial aesthetics, muscles, perfect hairline, teeth etc. No no no no no. The M in SMV stands for Market. If you know anything about economics you know that market value is determined by the value of exchange. The market value of a car is not determined by the horsepower, size, features, etc. It's determined by how much money someone is willing to exchange for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/16 06:33 PM
1

Market value is measured by what it is exchanged for. You are mixing your percentiles. If a 30th percentile woman can bang a 70th percentile man then her SMV is 70th percentile man (7M for short). Her attractiveness is still 3F though.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/16 11:42 PM

Looks can be ranked on a percentile scale: 1 is bottom 10%, 5 is 50%. SMV is not relative though. It is a single market clearing value and is therefore not relative but absolute. For example the market value of a banana or a shoe is the dollar value that the banana or shoe is exchanged for. So what is the unit of measure of SMV?

Self-improvement is predicated on the idea of change: I will change my life, I will change my person. However, there is no such thing as change, because time is an illusion; a product of the structure of our consciousness, which could not exist without temporal movement. This is objectively false. Time it's real, measurable, quantifiable and understandable. It is the inexorable motion from low entropy states to higher entropy ones. Change is a constant. It is unstoppable and undeniable.

Madonna LOOKS too old to wear a leotard. It doesn't help that her public persona is built around her sexuality so the idea of her prancing about trying to be sexy while looking old and gross SHOULD be shamed. Nobody wants to see that. An old ballet instructor in a leotard on the other hand would not be shamed in the same way because she is wearing it for functional reasons and not seductive ones.

Sexual jealousy had nothing to do with it. Your reading comprehension could use some work. But attachment to your partner and contentment with them can be built over years so that there's something much more powerful bonding you. In comparison the bonding that originates with orgasm is short-lived and weak. No. The hormones oxytocin and vasopressin are implicated in regulating both male and female sexual motivation. Oxytocin is released at orgasm and is associated with both sexual pleasure and t…

If you worked in an office, would you go up to a group of women and say "hi bitches"? The reverse is also true. If I talked to my close friends the way I talk to coworkers then they would also take that as a sign of disrespect. All people are irrational, especially when it comes to sexual attraction. The rational response to a feeling of risk of crime would be to carry a gun, learn martial arts, or move to a better neighborhood, not to fuck your gym instructor.

Of course NAWALT, always NAWALT, even when statistically significant data says otherwise. If you believe making generalizations about women is always heresy then nothing will convince you otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/16 09:42 PM
2

Because having a dude with juicy forearms is the most rational way to deal with the risk of crime. Why not a short skinny rich dude that can move you to gated community. Also, you are implicitly admitting that women are subconsciously sexually aroused by a man's ability to engage in physical violence, just to get that on the record.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/16 09:36 PM
7

Seems to me like the smarter choice would be to choose a partner adverse to violence. Further evidence that people in general, and women in particular, do not use rational decision making to choose who they are attracted to, but instead rely on instinct and emotion.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/16 07:42 PM
2

In a high crime area it makes sense, a practical decision moreso than one of attraction. High fear of crime is generally a paranoid response. But if fear of crime is a paranoid one and not a rational one, the attraction to physically protective men is emotional not practical.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/02/16 07:39 PM

If you are a coddled suburbanite that lives in a neighborhood with virtually zero crime rate and your fear of crime is completely irrational so your attraction to men with big biceps and broad shoulders is in no way pragmatic. You are twisting yourself into a pretzel to rationalize.

The heart of my critique here is that you are answering WHAT and not WHY i.e. proximate vs ultimate motivation. For example, if you asked me why I go to the gym all the time I could say that it is because I want bigger biceps, broader shoulders, and more defined abs. Although that is technically true it doesn't describe my motivations at all. Monogamy wasn't "invented" it evolved. Human babies take a longass time to mature and it takes a family, a society, to protect and provide for them in the meantime Average length of marriage across all cultures is 2 to 4 years, about how long it takes to give birth and wean a child. Life long monogamy is a fiction.

Pem, you know that's not how it works on PPD. 1) Take every post literally and interpret it in the least charitable way possible 2) Introduce an indefensible strawman and attack the posters character and intentions 3) Circlejerk using withering sarcasm, intersperse with a slew of profanities, and close with self righteous proclamations of victory That's how we roll.

I think this question would get significantly different answers if targeted at BP men vs BP women. A woman will get approached by a large number of men of varying attractiveness and compatability so screening is an effective strategy. Because men have to approach forest this strategy does not seem like it would be as effective. I would be interested in hearing first hand accounts from men and women who have tried it.

Supply and demand. There are lots of BP men chasing a few women that fit what they want and those women don't want the type of guys that match them. If this was the best approach to attraction all women would be dating their lesbian twins.

hypergamy, af/bb, solipsism, branch swinging, etc. I agree with you, these are deeply erroneous and toxic concepts. No, we don't agree. Unlike you, I believe they are accurate. I don't discard true statements just because some people call them evil. There is no grand theory of which techniques work and which don't. That is why I believe it is a dead end. Young women frequently approach men. All women, frequently approach men. Are we on the same planet or are you using definitions of the words "frequently" and "approach" that can't be found in the dictionary? Even the most obscenely and aggressively forward women I have ever met get approached 10 times as often as they make the approach themselves. I'll wager that sizable percentage of women with active sex lives will never have to approach a man first.

I was introduced to the pick up/seduction community 9 years ago. Nothing in that subreddit us new to me. I'm saying women have more options for casual sex than they do for long term relationship. The disparity between women's willingness to supply casual sex and men's demand for it means women can have casual sex with men that are much more attractive than them.

That doesn't mean she is more attractive. That just means she has more options for casual sex. I'll believe she is more attractive when one of those guys is willing to put a ring on it. I'm guessing none.

Knowing the legal implications of something doesn't make it a contract. By that measure serving on a jury, getting elected to public office, and becoming a naturalized citizen are all contracts. Nonsense. They, like marriage, are a change of legal status, nothing more.

Is definitely the point. To a lay person calling marriage a contract is extremely deceptive bordering on dishonest. It is unlike anything the average person would consider a contract. You can't negotiate the terms of the agreement, you can't modify it, you can't sue to enforce it. It is a contract in name only. It's somewhere between calling cheesecake a cake and calling a creampie a pie.

Not necessarily, but I would say that it's a sexual fetish that derives from and feeds off of deep seated insecurity and inadequacy. Again, there is a difference between engaging in a specific consensual fetish practice and actually being an unwilling cuckold. The second makes one a total loser.

Sounds a bit like extortion to me. Welcome to divorce court!
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/16 06:07 AM
2

Eh. I came across it multiple times when researching my own divorce. In California, having a domestic violence conviction increases spousal support payments. Since almost all cases are settled before trial, women have an incentive to file or threaten to file DV charges as a negotiating tactic. Imagine if a law as nebulous as the emotional abuse law was enacted here? Every divorce would be held in criminal court instead of family court. Edit: Divorce attorney? Unethical? My sides!
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/16 05:22 AM
2

That MIGHT be a defence. There tons of potential caveats. I would recommend each party have their own specialist lawyer involved. (Having one lawyer opens you up to possible invalidation) It's much more complicated than it appears.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/16 01:32 AM
3

Domestic violence laws have already been used this way. Already divorcing women are encouraged by their lawyers to file domestic abuse charges for the purpose of advancing their alimony settlement. The emotional abuse law is much more vague and harder to prove. Under the statute almost any unhappy marriage could be considered emotional abuse and judges have a wide authority to interpret it. This law is asking to be abused.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/16 09:54 PM

I ment to write "denigrate his lack of confidence". From above: Men slut shaming women because they're insecure is pathetic. There are two factors in security or lack thereof: confidence and conditions. Even a talented and confident skier would be insecure going down a step, rocky, icy slope in the pitch black during a snow storm. We on this subreddit are generally middle class english speakers in the western world. That market is homogeneous enough that our is fairly easy to make a roughly accurate comparisons.

First, human behavior, especially sexual behavior is strongly determined by hats sciences such as biology, genetics, nuerology, evolutionary psychology, endocrinology, etc. etc. Second, even the parts that are affected by society like psychology and culture don't really care what your moral opinion of them is. The fact that in English interrogatories end in a question mark is both completely socially determined and indifferent to your moral judgments.

Vulnerability + strength = attractive Vulnerability + weakness = disgust If vulnerability was a straight up attractive trait then it would make the unattractive a little better off when in fact it makes them worse off. Furthermore, too much vulnerability is also a turn off, no matter how attractive you are. At best you can say vulnerability is only good in small amounts given that you are already established as sufficiently strong, masculine, and attractive.

Ill accept that some small part of attractiveness is culturally determined. But you are moving the goal posts: your original argument was that beauty standards are meaningless i.e are totally random and have no predictive power. However I have shown that beauty standards are very similar across all cultures and time periods. Would you like to reform your original statement?

Only 30% of hot or not traffic is from the US and the US is highly diverse. Even if you look at only one demographic, preferences are highly correlated. Looks are even correlated across centuries. Greek statues are attractive to everyone in every culture across thousands of years.

I doesn't matter though. If half of women use "no" to mean "yes" or "maybe" it doesn't matter what any one girl chooses to do. The norm has been established. You won't be able to convince all women to play along so some will still do it because it benefits them thus undermining the whole endeavor. What sort of radical behavior modification program do you have in mind to get all women to go against their self interest?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/02/16 08:41 PM

If it was meaningless then "hot or not" would result in completely random ratings. But it doesn't. A pic that gets a high average score from a large number of users is very likely to also get a high score from a random new user.

Ambiguity come only partially from sex negativity. The more significant cause is signaling. Because women are the gate keepers of sex, they can show higher value by being selective. By saying yes right away they signal lower value. There is also the issue of the pursuit itself being a source of arousal and playing the yes/no game is a way of enhancing it.

Most new terpers are recovering nice guys. They are scared of being hurt by committing emotionally to women who will then reject them. That is why they chase casual sex with low levels of attachment: sex alone doesn't trigger the anxiety and therefore is the safe option.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/16 08:39 PM

It's not two narratives. It's clearly the first one: women are ambiguous when it comes to the word "no". "No means no" is a lie as long as women feel free to say it when they don't mean it. It happens enough that guys have every reason to be skeptical. I've definitely had women get mad at me for stopping a sexual encounter in response to "no" or other clear signs of resistance.

Paul Newman and Robert Redford were your grandmother's George Clooney and Brad Pitt. Exactly my point. Who cares what look was popular. The girls lusted after Paul Newman and Robert Redford. There are over 7 billion people in the world. It doesn't matter how many children men and women can make, it's not a competition because there's no need for one - there are more than enough humans on the planet. Irrelevant. Does not change the fact that sperm are plentiful and wombs are not. And a man doesn't make a child, he just gives a glob of his genetic material. The red pill isn't a position, it's a set of beliefs, a theory about how the world works. Blue pill theories are generally normative, i.e. concerned with what one ought to do as opposed to describing what is. It's about taking the most convincing aspects of both theories not a compromising "split the difference" centrism. If it's true I'm going to accept it completely regardless of what pill it's from.

Thanks for your anecdote but that doesn't change the law. The number one factor in federal guidelines for determining child support is the income of the parent. If it were really about taking responsibility both parents would be required to equally provide child support and support would be set based on the needs of the child, not the parents ability to pay. Instead, child support is used by courts as a form of covert alimony to create a psuedo-marital relationship where none exists.
