"Self esteem is built by esteemable acts." I forget who said this but for me it's been a game changer. Self esteem is built by doing things that you view as esteemable. Help people. Focus at work. Do things that you love and dedicate yourself to them. Also, do self-love things like meditation and exercise. For me, self esteem and not getting stuck in my head are a result of me stepping into the person I want to become.

Neither of us actually knows what they mean when they call him cute - only what we imagine they mean. HE'S the one giving it this connotation - taking it as though they mean he's cute like a puppy dog. Women I've spoken with almost always use cute to mean attractive. Not the way you're describing it. So, I imagine that in the situation he's talking about, he's interpreting it the way you're describing - cute like a puppy dog - but that in my experience, I doubt that's actually the case.

I've found many women don't view "cute" negatively like guys do. Have you ever seen a girl see a guy she's attracted to and go "hey he's cute!" Yes, that happens all the time. Last night a girl stopped making out with me to exclaim "you're so cute!!" and then she kept passionately making out with me. The issue is not that these girls consider you cute. The issue is that you have negative connotations for that word that the women saying don't necessarily share.

I agree completely. I don't think most of the women I date would react well to being dominated like this upfront. Women are humans and like it when someone is on their level.

I'm unsure why this is getting downvoted. I have a couple great friends who are objectively very attractive women but I wouldn't make a move on them under any circumstances - I'm personally not into them (I can't fantasize about them or anything - doesn't do it for me), although I've definitely had several people come up to me and ask me if I'm secretly trying to get with them. I'll admit this is rare - I can only think of two women in my life that I can say this about, and the rest seem to be u…

I always enjoyed dive-y, down to earth bars. People are cool and you can actually talk to people too.

Sometimes if I don't have a definitive answer I'll give the options I think of. The girl I'm dating right now says she really likes this. The "let's do ___ at 2pm on Friday" can come across as really controlling to some girls, and I don't think you need to do that in order to be considered high value. But at the same time, leaving it really open can seem like you're boring or have no ideas. Also bad. So I say "hey, let's meet after work Friday. I'm down to get dinner then watch a movie. I've als…

Some girls don't care. I'm 5'10 and dating a girl who's 6'1 right now. Some will care, some won't.

Asking about a vacation doesn't necessarily mean traveling - good way to figure out how they spend their free time.

There was a cool thread about this last week on AskReddit. The top one is one i've found great - ask about traveling and vacations. People get really excited talking about places they've gone, and if they haven't traveled much, asking about their fantasy vacation can get them really excited, too. It also tells you a lot about that person.

3 drinks sounds alright, given that they played 4 games of bowling - that's a lot of bowling! I usually get bored after 2 games. And another 40 min at the bar on top of it.

I like the shuffle and I'm pretty good at it, but I've never understood how to turn that into a dance to do with a girl. How do you progress with kino with that??

I don't know of any specific posts, but I've seen this mentioned on seddit a lot. Mainly that you shouldn't wait til the end of the date to go in for the kiss - escalate to that point earlier. It builds it up too much otherwise.

sounds good. I don't start my new job til July 22, so I'll be there a couple weeks before then. So expect a message out of the blue from me in a few months, haha. It'll be cool to have someone else on the same page as me once I move out there.

Hey! I'm graduating in May and moving to Austin in July, and I've been hoping I would find some people to do exactly this. We should definitely meet up when I get down there.

I don't think it's as big of a deal as a lot of people are making it seem - I think it has more to do with how it felt, whether it was comfortable or not. A close friend of mine, a "natural," as some would put it, once went 4 or 5 dates without kissing a girl, and she wound up being his girlfriend for a long time, and she was amazingly attracted to him. If it didn't feel right FOR YOU, then that's all that matters. Do it when YOU feel comfortable, just don't shy away when the moment comes. If yo…

Just cut off a girl about 6 weeks ago that I really liked, so this really spoke to me. She completely lead me on, would tell me she was so into it but then not return my calls, etc. Then one day I'd had enough and I cut it off, told her it was very nice to meet her and I know she'll go far, but we're over. Blocked, deleted #, etc. I don't think she expected that. I feel like I let her walk over me a little bit (not too much.. I'm not that much of a pushover), but it feels good knowing I got out …

This is great. When you say you "flipped it on her" after making fun of what the girl wears to bed, how did that go? I'm not quite sure how to do that.

How do you react when you call, then they don't pick up and text you back instead? That's a big pet peeve of mine but I know some girls consider a call a little too aggressive.

I've started switching off between alcoholic drinks and something else... Rather than ordering something alcoholic every time I go to the bar, every other time I'll order a water or coke or whatever. Half the alcohol, half the calories, cheaper, and I don't get sloshed! And I still always have a drink in my hand so I don't feel awkward about it. Just a little way to tone it down that doesn't take much effort.

I texted a girl asking if she was free tomorrow night, and she messaged me back with "I might be. I usually spend the weekends with my family but if I am, I'll let you know." Honestly, I don't feel like waiting around for this girl to let me know if she's free or not. I'd rather just make other plans. But I do want to hang out with her some time. How can I go about responding to this?

So I was on a family vacation and my mom knows some people there. A couple of the kids of my mom's friend took my sister and I out. It was me, my sister, and this girl and her brother. Me and the girl had great chemistry and we were laughing a lot, etc. But I didn't feel comfortable escalating kino because her brother and my sister were right there. We had our bodies pressed against each other almost the whole night at various bars, and we were sitting next to each other the whole time. What are…

Could you talk a bit about phone/text game? When you get a girl's number, which do you use first and how do you go about it? I've gotten several girls' numbers who definitely liked me in person, but then I felt the attraction vanish over texting etc. I knew that it would be fine if I could just see them in person, but I never got that chance. How can I avoid this?

I like this, and I think the moral of this story is something that a lot of people forget about (including myself, sometimes). But I think that this great conversation could be had while escalating, no? I feel like you had one piece of the pie, and that other guy who got the k-close had the other. If you had combined them I think this girl would be going crazy over you!

This advice is spot on. The times I've fucked this up and not gotten sexual early on, I've found the only way to turn it around is to take a VERY long break from the girl - usually at least a year - then meet up with her again. Essentially making a new first impression, and doing it right this time.

Find youtube tutorials for whatever dance you want to learn - I did for shuffling. Hardly anyone practices dancing, so even just practicing for an hour or two will already make you better than 90% of the people at the club. So much better than getting to a club and wishing we knew how to dance!! My confidence in a club is fantastically higher when I know I look good dancing.

Hey good post, I need help with this too. I'm also good at shuffling but sometimes I think it can be too much - I think girls might be intimidated and feel like they're not good enough dancers to dance with me. That, and also I think dancing with a partner to electronic music is just awkward to begin with. It's hard to escalate while rocking out! Anyone out there who can help with this? It would be appreciated!!

This is what I'd like to get better at - I hate it when I feel that attraction decaying, and I just know that if I could see the girl in person it would all be fine. But then I never see her again because the attraction dies.. over texting!! When I try to keep it short, however, sometimes I feel the girls are put off because I haven't helped them become more comfortable yet. How do you reconcile this? Any examples?

This is my favorite response. I don't think defining so much of one's life according to this list is alpha at all.

Hey! We're not all the same. My fraternity is the smallest on campus... and we got the best grades 11 semesters in a row! Reddit would be proud, lol. People forget that when you have 15 fraternities on campus, there are going to be the mainstream ones and the not-so-mainstream ones, who, in my case, can be pretty cool. We don't get tons of girls (although we get some), but that's not what it's about. I've made some of my closest friends there. I hear what you're saying about individuality, and I…

I like to cook dinner with her!! It's a great activity you can do together, you can get creative, the chances for kino are great (my kitchen is pretty small, so being in a tight place with her the whole time helps a lot ;) and it shows DHV. I'm also very passionate about my cooking, and I think a lot of girls like it when I show that. And when you cook something it always tastes great, and you just accomplished something together. Just go easy on the garlic/onions!

It's latin dance, so we've gotten into Bachata, Merengue, Cha Cha, and will be doing some Salsa soon. Definitely sexy dances that have plenty of club followings. Good call on the DHV... I think I've been good at that, and a lot of these girls are remembering me :)

Hi, I'm just starting to get into this. I have a dead-pan voice... a lot of people tell me I don't vary my tone of voice very much at all (or my facial expressions). Once people get to know me I can be pretty funny, but generally I get misunderstood by new people I meet, and I have trouble making girls I just met laugh, even if it's something that I think is funny and I'm just entertaining myself by saying it. Any tips on improving voice tone? I've been told reading a book about stand up comedy …
