This is an interesting one I can relate to. In high school and college, I did quite well with the ladies but always had trouble with guys. My advice is to engage with the guys. Firm hand shake. Make eye contact. Ask them questions about stuff they are interested in. Shoot the shit. Be agreeable. I think so. I haven't been able to full wrap my headaround why it matters but there are a couple of areas I've been considering: 1) I flake out when I sleep with a girl too quickly. It becomes less interesting and I'm not as great of a guy to be around after that. 2) If 1 isn't true, then, as you describe, thing escalate quickly. I think this freaks the girl out and she bails. First and second dates are really "get to know you" dates. My advice is to go somewhere where you can talk a bunch. On the first date, I'm typically going for 2 drinks and then I'm ending it (I do online dating). Thanks for the reply but I think the assumption you're making is off. This is not a case of trying to turn a hook up into a GF. This is trying to turn a girl who I've met online and have been dating into something more serious. I keep the hook ups as hooks ups as a general rule. They tend to try and turn me which just doesn't happen. That, I'm good at.
