I met my last LTR at work and while I was very nice to him, but I actually made a point to not give him a lot of attention so I didn’t seem overzealous. It wasn’t an attempt to play games…he’s conventionally very attractive so I just assumed he’s used to getting a lot of attention from girls (and guys) and might be a little bit out of my league, so my natural instinct at the time was to just be polite and friendly to him like I would to anyone else and nothing more. He ended up having to make th…

This is so me. I also found RPW somewhat recently and have been taking some serious inventory. I still hold a lot of my previous values to be true, the main difference now is that I’m living my life in a way that makes the most sense for me. I too felt like i was having an identity crisis for a little while until I realized that I don’t have to subscribe to any belief system 100%.. practice the areas that you agree with and don’t practice the ones you don’t, even if it means pulling from differe…

I’m in the same boat (almost). Started grad school right after my 25th birthday and I’m about to turn 26 now. I do have some concerns at times, but it’s usually just noise. I genuinely like the field I’ve chosen and I already have a job ready for me once I graduate which is a big relief. I definitely think I’d regret it if I hadn’t made the decision to keep going! I’m also single and hope to meet someone soon, but I’ve learned not to rely on a partner for happiness and that’s been the most comfo…

Just deleted my online dating app and just gonna let myself meet someone organically. I met both of my past LTR in person so I’m assuming that’s my better option! More fun too

My sister’s boyfriend is liberal for the most part and he’s ex military and a future firefighter. Such a great guy, but he’s told me the military was such a toxic environment and that’s why he had to get out (after 6 years).

Sad that it ended up that way. Had to have been a miserable relationship. I used to work for a forensic psychologist who worked on family court custody cases and some of those parents were just ruthless…

I used to work for a forensic psychologist and he would be hired to do private evaluations for family law custody battles to assess their fitness to parent/time sharing. It got messy. It was tough because after investigating, evaluating both parents, kids, home visits, collateral interviews, etc. he would have to make his recommendation for what the time sharing should be and why. Then he’d typically be deposed or called as an expert witness in the courtroom to defend his decision. He was an eth…

I just texted my friend who’s been a flight attendant for 6 years to ask if they’re known to cheat often. Her response was: It’s not really openly talked about amongst flight attendants, but it’s known that pilots have several wives (in different countries). So I guess it’ll remain a mystery

We all do. Somewhat unrelated.. but I was thinking about it and confirmation bias is probably one of the reasons this post is getting upvotes from either side. It’s easy to take something (this post) and look at it in a way that supports whatever opinion we already had

Yeah I’ve always been really sensitive to what others are feeling. That doesn’t mean I just say yes to everyone, but I’m super cognizant of how I cut something off or turn someone down. I don’t know if it’s even my responsibility to make sure people don’t become more jaded or hardened, but I want to try

Having a sense of agency plays a huge role in our happiness has human beings. Yes, having a family can be so so rewarding, but we still have to maintain a sense of autonomy an individual level at the same time. If you lose yourself, it’s gonna be much harder to be present for your loved ones (including your children) ETA: autonomy doesn’t just mean making your own money. It looks different for everyone. It. It can literally just mean having a social life or hobbies outside of the household

Not to say that divorce is easy if you’re financially self sufficient, but it’s definitely a factor. We have this need to have control over our future and it literally drives all of our actions. So when we’re faced with the feeling of not knowing what will happen to us, we do everything in our power to take back control. So this is the perfect example of being pushed into the unknown and going into panic mode.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 04:03 PM

Totally. My sister is a firefighter actually, and the schedule really fucks with her mental health as well due to lack of sleep. Her boyfriend’s currently in fire school so I’m curious what effect that will have on their relationship once he’s on a similar schedule.

100%. My flight attendant friends tell me they’ll never settle down with a pilot!
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 03:53 PM

Yep. That, along with the SAH partner now having to rethink what they’re going to do to generate income after the fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 03:52 PM

Surgeon and pilot would be fine for me, and I still feel neutral about firefighter I guess…but the other two… no chance.

It’s funny, I dated a pilot once and it turned out he had an entire wife who lived in a small village in Thailand
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 03:48 PM
2

I’m not sure, she doesn’t really say who files for the divorce more often. It could be that, and it could also mean you’re more likely to stay in an unhappy marriage
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 03:47 PM

Losing health insurance is an underrated point. The fear of a possible loss of access to healthcare just shows how significant the American (or anywhere) way of living spreads it’s roots and effects quite literally every aspect of our lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 03:42 PM
24

And I don’t think that fear comes out of nowhere only once divorce is on the table. It probably permeates the relationship long before, subconsciously or not. And probably guides a lot of behavior, emotions, reactions, and beliefs about how the relationship should or shouldn’t be, their partner’s actions, etc.

In this particular video she only talks about SAHM. She says nurse and teacher are also common professions in terms of number, but those are run of the mill cases and the women aren’t notably difficult
/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/22 03:33 PM
13

I do agree that there has been a big shift (in the west primarily) in women being encouraged to secure their own livelihood earlier on in life through higher education, getting married at a later age, etc. But at the same time there is pushback to continue with the traditional gender role that used to define wife and mother. Unfortunately, with such high divorce rates- that traditional role isn’t as reliable anymore.

Yeah and with remote work as a common option now, I think it’s totally doable to do both. It’s a unique situation, but I nanny while I’m in school and both parents work from home. They chose to have someone there to keep an eye on the baby even though they’re both home. It allows them to be present for everything, but still be able to work with minimal distraction. Sounds like a dream..
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/22 11:59 AM

Such a great point. I do think you can be a great parent without higher education, but it certainly doesn’t hurt. As long as it interfering like you said. I’m personally choosing to continue with grad school and it’s a field I’m really passionate about. But not to the point that I’d neglect my future children, relationships, or put off having a family for it. It’s actually something that can give me tools for my relationships and parenthood I believe! It should also cover my student debt, though…

Not saying it isn’t hard work, but yes being a SAHM is definitely a luxury. It really just depends on the financial situation and the number of kids. My own mom was a nurse until she had her first child. Then she had 2 more. I’m grateful she was able to stay home with us, but I get that it’s not always realistic. I also know she was stressed a lot of the time… but that’s nuts part of being responsible for 3 young girls

Great point about the work-life balance. If she’s in school or working full time when you meet, that can be a great way to actually see if she’s capable of maintaining that

Right. I think being passionate about something is admirable in itself
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/22 08:58 PM

Yep. I don’t necessarily see the debt as the dealbreaker, but is she showing an effort to pay it off while still in school? Entitlement that their future spouse will help take care of it is irresponsible (maybe they do, maybe they don’t, but have a plan).

I feel like it’s very common for men to be on the wrong side of RP, but when I hear him speak- it’s not aggressive, it’s more factual/psychologically based, and it actually opened my eyes to this space and led me to do my own research (eventually to RPW). So to answer your question, I was familiar with RP, but I wrote it off for the better part of my life. I was raised conservative Christian so many of these values were instilled in me from the start. I went a different path during college and e…

I’m gonna equate my father to this description. He’s the perfect example in my opinion. Leader of the household, guides my mom and she follows suit, respected amongst those in his circle, ethical, successful, has hobbies outside of his job, radiates positivity, financially responsible, humorous, non judgmental, charitable/giving, amazing work ethic, handsome, and the list goes on. I hope to find someone like him for myself in the future!!

IF I outright say something, wouldn’t you find it to be more productive to say something along the lines of I want to be exclusive to only you, see what his response is…and gauge it from there?

Eh no, I don’t think so. He was saying it in a playful way.

I haven’t met him personally, but I’ve seen them together in videos and such. And yes, he’s married, but does still sleep with other women. His wife consents to it. Yeah you’re probably right. I do think he’s vetting me and does see a future with me, so I feel comfortable with continuing in my behavior with some tweaks to “inspire” commitment (like I’m reading in some other posts). ETA: I haven’t shared any of my rp knowledge with him.

Just read the post about the talk, great insight. I didn’t want to give an ultimatum or anything of the sort, so I’ve just been exemplifying my own intentions with my behavior. It seems to resonate. So now I just need to understand what his intentions are. And I guess the type of man I want should be the one to lead/initiate a LTR (or in your words, inspire). I want it to happen naturally.
/r/RedPillWomen08/04/22 04:42 PM

Thanks! I did make the mistake the first time we met by saying that I wasn’t outright looking for something serious (even though I was), but was open to it if it happened. This was before I was educated about rpw and thought saying I was relationship minded would scare him away.
/r/RedPillWomen08/04/22 04:32 PM

Thanks! Yeah next time I see him I want to talk about it. I’ll do some more introspection in the meantime to make sure this is what I want as well. I think he’s vetting me to be honest. Edit: one word

It depends on the girl and her feelings toward you. I’ve had men try this with me, but if I wasn’t that interested from the start, him pulling away/ignoring me didn’t have any notable impression on my feelings. If anything, it validated my lack of interest. You have to be mindful of who you’re trying this with. They have to have that initial pull toward you and a desire for you attention in order for it to help your game. That being said, if I’m really into a guy and he starts to pull back or ig…

My boobs. I can’t think of one day that I haven’t hated them since I was 18 and started a hormonal birth control that was totally wrong for my weight. I’m 25 now. It’s silly, but I think if I fixed this one thing it’d solve nearly all of my physical insecurities.

Thank you so much for your input. I truly agree with it. I’ve updated it since I posted, but I still want to state that it’s irresponsible to generalize something as broad and diverse as preference for lifestyle and relationships. There’s no reason that I (or anyone else) shouldn’t be able to build a life that checks all of your own boxes. You’re exactly right, what works for one person doesn’t always work for someone else, nor does it need to. So yep, it’s about figuring out what fulfills you -…

Hey, updated my original post- but great comment. I didn’t start to believe everything he and his friends tout as truth until recently. I was extremely skeptical, but eventually let myself give in to the idea some. I’ve brought myself back to reality now at least, and am grateful that I can desire a traditional relationship while still staying true to my values (but ditch the ones that could use some revision)

So his online presence doesn’t mention red pill at technically, the focus is on helping men in the bedroom, teaching them about female psychology, etc. And he’s very good at it/informed. But he’s involved in the red pill space by being invited to speak about his expertise- online and in person. It all used to make me cringe too… and the obnoxious RPM still do. The very first in-person interaction I had with him was at an exclusive party for an event that he was a pretty high up on the hierarchy …

Hey, no we have lots of personal interaction - it’s the same guy I’m seeing. I found his stuff after meeting him. And I was skeptical to start, but now I understand the appeal. His online presence is geared toward helping men be better themselves in the bedroom/pick up coaching, and he holds RP ideals, as do his friends (who I’ve also met). They’ve made it very clear that they want long term relationships with a “main girl,” who is devoted only to them, but the man still be free to have sex with…

Shit. Yep, think you may be right. It just feels more natural this way honestly. But yet, I look at my sister and her husband and they are both very progressive and equally feminist, and very happy. Thriving honestly. So I’m conflicted. But I just need to do what feels more natural for me I guess.
