This is essentially what any addiction does. It freezes you at the developmental stage you were in when you get addicted. Conflicts don’t get worked out, skills don’t get developed, social skills don’t advance, your career doesn’t advance. It can’t. Your energy goes into the addiction instead, and problems are addressed by making the bad feelings go away with the addiction instead of facing it and dealing with it.

I read the title as “pickme’s are more likely to believe that a rape accusation is false.” It seemed her ex friend believed the narrative that women are always lying about rape. They choose the man’s story over the woman’s story.

Read any discussion about going 50-50, especially on dates. It’s horrifying to read how many women go 50-50 because they believe letting him pay will make him think they owe him sex. Like what? You don’t. Paying for it tells them you think it does indebt you. I hate most “in the old days” discussions, but it used to be that you expected to date several people, pick one based on compatibility when the time was right, and then get married and have a family. I don’t believe this works for everyone,…

I always say to men who have difficulty with women or “female” tasks—do you google ways to win video games, change your car’s oil, put together a computer? If so, why can’t you google how to vacuum or wash dishes, or why women do x or want y or don’t like z? Asking to have it explained to them is either baiting them into an argument or treating them like their time is valueless. If you want to know, go find out. ITWTTW

He wants to tell her. Wants to hurt her. Notice how he said his experience with the professional was so wonderful. He thinks he should exact revenge for not getting sex from her, and he’s not the only one with that opinion. Others say she caused it by not sexing him.

Because other men will give them a pass on it. If they get caught, chances are good it won’t be reported. If it is reported, they fall back on the old he said/she said. Psychologists and psychiatrists have the extra protection of saying that the patient is lying, is experiencing transference, she’s crazy why would you believe her over me?

I don’t agree with everything here, but the part about being vigilant about going 50-50 on dates so he can’t claim you owe him sex? Spot on. I saw a thread on this elsewhere with so many women saying they go 50-50 on dates so he won’t think they owe him sex. If this is his attitude, going 50-50 with him only confirms that you share that belief, and says that he can buy you. Just not yet. Let him pay. If he pushes, complains, then you know he’s not for you. Going 50-50 just gives everyone false h…

I don’t think Will Smith should have had a plan for if someone insulted his wife at the Oscars. What I meant was that he probably should, maybe even did have a three-sentence “what is alopecia” in his back pocket, because you could expect that kind of question in interviews. “Alopecia is…X number of people experience it, many in the AA community…Jada has been dealing with it since 2018. She is just as beautiful to me as ever, strong etc…” I do see how the joke itself was misogynoir. I don’t thin…

I would certainly have a back pocket speech about alopecia ready if I was a well known and often interviewed media star whose spouse had alopecia, and she has discussed it before. She came out about it in 2018. That’s PR 101. Practice what you’re going to say. It should be as easy as “no comment” or “hi, nice to meet you.”

Some men have taken the joke/anecdote/advice on how to get laid. Ask 100 women, “want to fuck?”, and if one says yes, everything is fine. No, it’s not fine. Propositioning every woman you know isn’t fine. Pushing every woman to go as far as she will is not fine. This isn’t just bad manners. It’s sexual harassment.

This is just the latest victim-blaming strategy. Women are at fault for their own abuse because they picked the wrong partner. Simultaneously wanting to get over on women to get sex for minimum cost and effort, then blaming them for ever falling prey to their schemes.

The part where he berates her for being suspicious is so heinous. “After all we’ve been through? Don’t you trust me?” Well no, not when you’re acting like you’re trying to trick me into something. Getting angry at a question means the question is probably hitting the mark.

I think both men and women are told that romantic love is something outside of all the normal signs of liking someone. That it’s okay to disrespect or even hate the person you “love” because “it’s love!” It isn’t. This is just sexual attraction or trauma bonding. Good relationships are built on actual love. Love is possible. If you let the fake shit fool you, you can miss out on the real thing entirely.

Do not look for logic or consistency in their statements. They aren’t using reason. They are using rationalization. They start from the conclusion (my feelings of anger and jealousy are correct) and look for reasons to support that conclusion. The next feeling they need to support (“you’re the best woman, better than other women, because I own only the best) requires different premises. No, I changed my mind, she can’t do anything about it now, haha. These jackasses are addicted to stringing women along. They don’t believe in obligation. Everything is negotiable, and if they get something for nothing, that makes them the winner, to be admired, and not the asshole, to be despised.

Make sure your separate bank account is at a different bank. Many of them have small print in the account agreement that states that they can take from accounts that have owners in common to cover overdrafts and sometimes will “helpfully” let other people see the accounts they’re not on if asked. It may not always be legal, but getting that money and privacy back can be very difficult.

Six months? That is way too little time for someone to turn himself around. I would say a minimum of two years to think it’s an actual change and not a game he’s playing, on you or himself. He hasn’t gotten through a lot of situations where it would be easier to just lie, cheat, push the work of the relationship onto his partner, get back into porn, and so on. Ignorance. They think that what feels good to them feels good to you, so a thrilling sexual experience to them must have been great for her. Their inexperience also makes them rely on porn as a barometer of what women want. Lack of empathy. They focus on their “good luck” landing a beautiful woman and not on how they can keep her. Hubris. They think that their pickup line or something about them is “finally getting through“ and they’ve already done what needs to be done to attract and keep her.

How will a woman know who is worth committing to? Not only does he have to be objectively worthwhile, he must also be compatible with her personality wise. You need time to confirm both.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/22 06:49 PM

So she has even more riding on the initial selection. She better not make any mistake. Before committing to a man, she must choose correctly which one to commit to. This means a long long dating period that is also not exclusive, because remember she is not committing. Abusers typically wait about 18 months before showing their true colors.

Arguments and examples aren’t the same thing. A counterexample isn’t an argument. It’s information that can prove an argument false.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/22 03:34 PM

No. If an argument is “all men are XYZ,” and numerous counterexamples are provided, the argument is invalid. It’s not some small linguistic ((not lingual) detail. Not only did he make the full generalization, he doubled down on it. If the argument is “most,” the argument is still not secure. If I can think of a lot of exceptions to a general rule, its generality is very much in doubt.

Someone says all men are XYZ. I provide examples where men are not XYZ. That’s not a counter argument. It’s a counter example. If I’m not lying, then the counterexamples absolutely do disprove the theory that all men are XYZ. Can’t be all if there are exceptions.

From the bare minimum information about this woman we got (typically we only hear about him, him, him), I never got the impression she wanted anything but the affair. That’s why she would pick a married man to have the affair with. There’s a balance of terror in that neither one wants to leave the primary relationship, so it’ll remain an affair only. It kinda sounds like he doesn’t like the sister refusing to want to marry, and wants to quash any such independent streak in OP. Valuing a woman is necessary but not sufficient to be HVM. AA was created as a “spiritual kindergarten.” You’re supposed to learn from it and move on. It has become something different. It is unusual to find a group that holds to this principle. Predatory behavior by men is endemic to any spaces they frequent, and the rooms are a community of people who are vulnerable, confused, and easy to lie to. They’re shooting fish in a barrel. I’m glad you got clean and I’m glad you’re out.

The stat about men getting assaulted more than women. One, it’s assault on men by men, by a large margin. Two, they’re out at night and in sketchy situations where women just don’t go. Women know they’re more vulnerable so they act accordingly.

Ask the men ic they go into a bargaining situation like buying a car or dickering over the price of an item in a game, do they assume the other party is fully virtuous and will give them the best deal unasked? Ask them if they go on a date hoping they don’t get any more intimacy than would be prudent for their date? Or do they hope she goes to bed with him before he even has to buy her a cup of coffee?

This is not an accurate picture of SAHM finances. Things are not static. Sometimes they’re following some stupid body language cues they think you’re displaying. If you touch your hair it means you want him to touch your hair. If you face him you want him to touch your chest, if you face away from him you want *nal, there is essentially no end of these. No matter what you do it’s a come-on in his mind. He’s fantasizing sex with you the whole time.

He probably hears that he’s lost weight and looks good by a couple of women he works with, or in the neighborhood, just trying to be nice. They’re probably saying it in comparison. But even if he is good-looking, that’s not what gets you into straight porno. I have to wonder if he’s using drugs and/or steroids, and this is giving him delusions of grandeur.

No, she pays him! He’s just going to generously allow her to pay slightly under market rates to not have privacy, time of her own, drive his kids around, watch them, deal with whatever teen angst they bring to the house, feed them, probably “split grocery costs” (with a 16-yo boy in the house!!!), do “half the cleaning” (play toilet and sink chicken). Move right in! No dating necessary! Jump right on it! Eeeeeaaasuuugghhhhhh

He gets child support from his ex? But he’s only getting the kids every other weekend? Warning sign here too. He’s either taking the kids less than he is supposed to, or dumping them on his mom the rest of his weeks. Regardless, it’s an obvious clear pattern of living off of the women in his life and keeping his money separate and untouched.

If he has no assets, which he probably doesn’t, it may not be worth the time and energy and possible court costs to get a judgment from him. He will probably have nothing of value he hasn’t sold already.

Why he asked you? One, you obviously have money. Enough to prepay for training. He smells money. Two, he’s already tapped out all his friends, family, and other associates. He’s a bad risk. Obviously don’t lend to him. If he starts flaking on you on the training, you might take him to small claims, but he probably has no assets to satisfy his debt. Consider this a lesson learned.

What I meant by basic is, this applies to people across the board. People like to help when they know their help is wanted and it’s effective. Not that everyone knows this. It’s kind of counterintuitive at first. Why would me helping you make me happy? But it works, because we are social animals. I think the concept applies to both needed and wanted help. They’d have to raise their paid rates and either have a huge advertising component on the free site, or have a very very limited selection so most users would pay. Neither is likely to be sustainable financially. Like any company, they externalize costs as much as possible. The costs of the porn industry are borne by society, mostly women and children. The fact that they can’t even manage to be respon…

You ask in an addendum for women here to describe in detail their needs. The problem is that every woman’s needs will be different. The good husband will listen to her and observe her. There is no one list of things every woman wants that will please her. It is the listening, understanding, and responding that is the important part. By asking for this list here, you fail. The list is not here.

Withholding sex is a power move, or is it they don’t want sex right then and there? Men often don’t consider that they may be getting more from the sex than she is. It’s almost always worth it for them. They’re out there trying to cum their biggest and best cum. We’re out there trying to enjoy ourselves or at least not get pregnant, an STI, or hurt/killed.

Unfortunately, those who do this don’t think about how to improve their odds. They’d do better to try a different game. But they’ve had the odds hidden from them. And been taught you shouldn’t play the game that gives you good results, because that’s unfair to the bad players on the other side. Stop drawing to the inside straight, lad…

Men can be very negative to older women even when they’re not in a romantic context. The male gaze demands all women be eye candy or begone. They act like women who are older or not beautiful to their standards are disgusting and will actually make gagging noises and pull faces in reaction. They never do this to older men, or men who are ugly, poorly groomed, heavy or otherwise not sexually attractive, because men are not the sex class. Feminism is for women. As a bonus, men can be more well-rounded and better people if they pay attention and learn from it. But the primary reason for feminism is that women are treated poorly in comparison to men, and that needs to stop. It’s not to try to smooth things out. It’s to upend inequality and patriarchy.

Five years of tutoring Logic students taught me a lot. Logic is never the real base of his argument. It’s a particular premise or set of premises that he claims as completely logical and beyond argument. If you challenge him, he will get emotional about it. It’s funny in a way. They are the ones who can’t analyze an argument and determine its truth value. Example: the ocean is better for a vacation than the mountains. Valid arguments would allow for personal opinions like “I prefer lots of waves…

Even when they’re creative writing, they still get approval from scrotes on line. It supports the narrative that women are not supposed to be in control of their own lives and that men are the final arbiters of value and are in charge of shaping the behavior of their partners if they don’t find it pleasing to them in any way. That men don’t have to know what their partners consider important and can be forgiven for these small “mistakes.” That something like this could even be a mistake.

Women’s sexual drive has a go and a stop. Women can be raring to go and something turns off like a light. Men’s libido almost always just has a go. I can’t imagine that the fear women feel when in a vulnerable position with a man they don’t know is not relevant to this difference.

Women who all look the same—you see this in employment, too. Men take their attraction to a “type” into the workplace. I really don’t think the artist thinks it’s cool. The gamer boy is clearly a loser, ignoring the woman in the doorway for his imaginary life on the screen. She’s at the end of her rope.

They say that sex is a need for men, then conflate that with constantly watching porn. I guess that means any man who went through puberty before 1996 was just mentally unhealthy. They had to masturbate to their imagination, or look at Playboy or Hustler. Poor things.

Women are not supposed to take up space. They’re supposed to be small. Not make big gestures. Sit in the smaller chair. Pull in, not stretch out. Get out of the way when a man is walking through. So it’s no surprise that people freak out when you don’t want a dainty, humble little one-room apartment. Don’t you know you’re not supposed to really exist?

Fishing doesn’t necessarily convey physical fitness, though. It’s not an aerobic or muscle building activity. It doesn’t require great strength or coordination. I mean, sure, if you go fishing in a remote area and live off your catch for a week as a challenge, maybe. And it can indicate you like outdoor activities. But pretty much anyone can go fishing. A flea market I went to yesterday had a seller with about a dozen rod and reels, $15 each. Buy some bait. Go to the fishing spot. Fishing with y…

This is one of the hypotheses about the reason for having gay and lesbian and asexual and other non-reproductive people in a human population. Men are usually raised to treat women as not the same as them. When you other a whole group of people, the tendency is to think of them not just as different, but less-than. You see this with race as well. It was legally enforced during slavery and Jim Crow in the US. But it’s still happening today, obviously. Everywhere you see men and women segregated, men are inculcated into a belief that women can’t be understood, that this is because they’re not logical, that they are inferior because of it…

I read or heard somewhere that true crime is the one place where women can see crimes against women taken seriously and people trying to solve thdm. In contrast to the typical reaction to a rape or assault—a shrug of the shoulders because “it’s he said, she said”, “what did you do to provoke it”, “you’re just doing this for the attention” excuses for not following up, in the cases we know about, the crime is eventually taken seriously. This is very true, but not sufficient. When women say funny things that are relatable to anyone (airline food etc) they still don’t always get the laughs men do. Why? It’s because anything a woman says is “contaminated” with ideas about how women are. And there is a stereotype about women for every occasion! A reason to hate them regardless of the subject. Sapiosexul is similar to women having a sense of humor. It doesn’t mean you’re funny or smart on your own. It definitely doesn’t mean you have interesting ideas he will admire, or say funny things that he laughs at. It means you’re smart enough to get what they’re saying and agree with it, or laugh at their jokes. If you say something, prepare to be one-upped or corrected. When you get to a certain age, or if you’re not within a certain range of conventionally attractive, you become sexually invisible. Look at the men saying they can’t get a date. What they mean is, they can’t get a date with women who fit the sex object standards. The fact that women who don’t fit the sex object standards get ignored in a lot of social and work related situations tells you those situations are sexual hunting grounds for men.
