Yes, I think that is the thing though, the stringing along. At thirty, you aren’t usually worried too much about time running out. Once your mid thirties hits, it often becomes more of a concern. I think men like this guy are aware of this to some extent, and then, seven years later, pull this nonsense.

I feel it is something close to reproductive coercion, where he waits until the last possible minute to commit to her and have a kid. My ex dated me and tried to forcibly impregnate me. He became furious when I took the morning after pill. I remember thinking I was 25, I didn’t need to rush. He dated a woman in her early forties who aborted a pregnancy from him before me, and he married a woman who was 41 and they had a kid. He was younger than both women. He finds women near the end of their fe…

I dated an older man who had that mindset when I was in my early twenties and tapped out. I then had a kid in my thirties with my husband, a man close to my own age. This is definitely a better situation.

He is loaded too. If he wants to sleep in that badly, at least hire a nanny or someone to help with the kids. We all know the rich and famous live a lifestyle beyond what the general public can attain. It isn’t some secret. So what is the deal with him? Camilla doesn’t need less sleep, she just learned to cope. Ugh, this guy.

Also, they often way overestimate their own appearance and underestimate the woman’s. I have had several guys confess they were obsessing over a girl that didn’t want them back, and they made comments about how she was average or natural. She would always be in good shape, with a nice face, skin, decent, clean clothing (not necessarily a fashionista, but not someone who dresses like a child or homeless person). Meanwhile, dude will be out of shape and with a creepy or unpleasant personality. He …

Well also, physical attraction is a thing. Men can’t help their height, but that isn’t something that women are obligated to look over, and neither is baldness. Besides which, they can stay in decent shape (and so many think they are and they aren’t), and they can do basic stuff to improve their appearances. We expect women to be glorified ornaments, so I don’t care if men are upset women are not attracted to them.

So even though he is in no way mistreated or confronted, he still feels entitled to women acting a certain way for his benefit, even though it could save their lives or protect them at literally no cost to him at all. 😯

These dudes and their “I never got to experiment” bullshit. The majority of people don’t live life as the most popular kid in school. Women realize that overall, but the number of men I know who can’t get over freaking high school and are at least in their thirties is staggering. I was never the coolest “It” girl and neither were most women, and most men weren’t having to bat off beautiful, sexually available women. Get over it and develop a healthier outlook and you will be happier for it, menf…

Yeah, honestly I think you are right there. I guess I am just used to men using women as a tool to move to the next step in their lives, and not as humans in our own right.

I hope his ex is legit child free, and didn’t just do it because he pushed her. I mean, I know women can just not want kids, and more power to those ladies. I just know too many tales of men who just do whatever they want with their first wife.

Fat men rolling their lardy asses up and expecting an in shape, cute woman is so common, we have about two decades of American TV that validates their bullshit. So many men have been told their entire lives that they are entitled to women they find attractive, and the unconditional support of a woman, but they were never taught to be attractive to women or to offer that same support to us. I want to see a plethora of tv shows where a significantly overweight, not conventionally attractive woman …

People lived with just husband and wife as their only sex partners, and no porn or anything like that, for centuries. Yes, there was prostitution, but plenty of men did not use it. People have the idea that porn is needed only because we have allowed it to have such inroads in our society. Once people accept it as normal and use it more often, it becomes something they want and feel they need. Men weren’t looking up porn all night, buying dirty magazines, or hitting up strip clubs in Little Hous…

People who go well into adulthood publicly idolizing fictional characters come off as immature, perhaps mentally unhinged, and always absolute idiots to me. Grown ass men in their thirties and forties posting shit about the freaking Joker constantly should never be dated. I don’t care if someone likes comics or movies etc. I have a lot of fictional stuff I enjoy too, so no judgment. It is the total lack of social awareness with men like that which does me in. I have no idea about that sub overall, because everyone’s situation is going to vary. I have had other ladies tell me their husbands complain about their sex life and the lack of sex, but those same ladies also tell me their husbands don’t put any real effort into helping them enjoy sex. I mean, I wouldn’t want to be used as a glorified sex toy either, so I can understand why they are reluctant to be his masturbation aid while they get nothing. The people giving backlash are probably people who would end up being saddled with this loser if she leaves (parents, his friends etc.). Another possibility is that they are people with loser offspring or friends, and subconsciously react so harshly to this because their priority is making sure their weirdo son has a cushion, not that he becomes a good partner. A woman finally saying no more puts a mirror in their own faces and makes them see that a woman might not be there for their kid/friend …

The women I knew who grew up Muslim have husbands who provide for them. The women who converted to Islam often ended up supporting their husbands. I have no idea how widespread that is, and I fully admit I grew up in less than stellar areas. It is entirely possible women from financially tough backgrounds and dysfunctional families already had the odds stacked against them when it came to finding a partner that was good to them. Sadly, a lot of men very much relate to a woman and treat her based…

That is a huge thing with a lot of men. They seem to really think they missed out on something. Men who had a hard time or were wallflowers in high school, but then go on to have a successful adulthood don’t yearn for adolescence.

And we get the privileges of adulthood! Not “Dad doesn’t work and your brother is an idiot. Go to school, hand me your McDonalds money check, clean this house, and do what I tell you!” But actual control over our labor and resources. I have full rights in my home now, not “You work constantly but chronically unemployed man here actually has more say in this house than you do,” and “I kind of resent you and overly depend on you as my daughter, but goddamned if I will own up to it and stop it. I agree with these points. I would also add be careful of “in group,””our group,” thinking. Many religious men think women from their group are for marrying, and women from other religions are for fun. One of my former friends made this mistake. I remember going with him (my ex) to a Methodist expo thing (he did not introduce me as his gf btw), and there was a black woman who had just finished her doctorate in theology and who ran a food pantry in addition to her job as a minister. She was also a small time monster. So basically the same as my loser ex, with no degree. Whenever I hear the phrase “The mediocrity of a white man,” I think of that.

Beware of men in ministry in general. I dated a much older man at 22 who was a minister. Absolute loser. Let’s be honest: The bar of entry is actually quite low in some denominations. My ex was “working”’on a degree he never finished. He had a salary, health insurance, and a house provided by his church. He also was able to wedge that into a way to be a part time chaplain at hospital. His house was shit, just disgusting what he did to it. He had so much porn on his computer, it was insane. He al…

They lie because how dare a woman has preferences right? /s I think a big thing is that people are attracted to ambitious people, and to intelligent people. People do this crap because they don’t want to actually put in the work to be fit or be successful, they just want the status and benefits of those things. Like of course a fit, successful guy is more attractive, just like a fit successful work is, but what, are only men allowed to have standards?

It’s also so they can feel strong without actually being strong. Skinny fat dudes were the weirdest dudes about weight. The men who actually had some muscle have never cared about my weight to that extent. That is how a lot of the well off white liberals are, tbh. I am pretty liberal myself, but I see it. It is a part of why Clinton was so unpopular with a lot of voters. Just a part, mind you, there were definitely other reasons. Chrissy Tegan is someone who I occasionally agree with, but who also is very obnoxious and self serving with how she uses her platform. She bullied other women at times but then expects compassion when she shares her own struggles. I mean I feel sad for her miscarriage, just for example, and it was brave of her to share that loss. I think a big part of that is also that they don’t care if they make a woman uncomfortable. It isn’t on their radar. This man is not concerned with her feelings and he never was. He wanted her to do for him. Her actual attraction to him is irrelevant to him, only his attraction to her.

Men are allowed to be batshit crazy, and we all have to accommodate it. Meanwhile, society loves women to be “crazy,” cause it is so convenient. Just for example, Britney Spears was well enough to perform for huge crowds for years, but too mentally unstable to control her own money. Oh no! Better let her redneck asshole dad…

You would think that, I get it. It makes sense on surface level. However, that isn’t always the reality. I was 22 and dated a 38 year old, mentally ill preacher who became a more obvious asshat than he already was once he realized I wasn’t going to sleep with him. I also had two older dudes creep on me at church. I remember when a friend died, I was at church crying and this one much older man asked me on a date when I had tears in my eyes.

It.Never.Fucking.Fails. So sick of kids being raised by selfish asshat parents who can’t pull their shit together for the sake of a kid. Growing up, I knew so many girls just in shit conditions who got into terrible relationships. Men like this woman’s husband are on the prowl for girls who are financially and emotionally strapped by their batshit families. Like God forbid parents pull their shit together enough not to make their young teens fodder for predatory freaks. I know at some point we h…

When I was in eighth grade, I read an article in my aunt’s cosmo magazine about an intersexual girl who basically had her clitoris amputated and was lied to about it for years. It was horrifying. That was how I even knew what it was, from that article. It is like even other women have been obsessed with pleasing men, not only as partners but medical professionals.

Gawd, my grandmother was Native American and white. She had to work constantly to support her family. Her own mother was a housewife who worked her ass off on a farm. The majority of housewives worked constantly unless they were very specifically in a certain socioeconomic class. They couldn’t leave their husbands if they turned out to be evil either, at least not easily. The women I know who are worn out by working, staying at home, or anything else often have shit partners, like the one lady s…

Yes. Plus for men, it is much easier for them to even get off during sex, especially for younger folks. Now that is apparently changing because they have conditioned themselves to constantly push the envelope, but they are the ones that let porn break their brains, so they can be the ones to go to therapy and fix that, or else deal with the consequences of the not enjoying normal sex.

I know there are good men out there because I am married to one and friends with others, but even with that being said about my own personal life, it still shocks me to see this man actually articulate and care about women. I also noticed men who are in really good shape don’t tend to give unsolicited fitness advice as often. The same in martial arts. Men who are actually decent grapplers or whatever don’t feel the need to tell women how to do things. Every BJJ female participant I know has men who are just starting out explain things to them. Like these men are so insecure that the only flex they can have is over a woman. The idea being even if they aren’t athletic or good at whatever sport, they can always feel s…

I can only speak as an American here, but actually dude, there is quite a bit of hero worship (at least in the US) towards veterans, and last I checked, we don’t have a draft. By the way, my husband is career military, so it isn’t like I am against the armed forces at all, I just find this argument stupid. Also, quickly ninja edit here, but there are plenty of women in the military too. They often face serious harassment and assault too, sadly. :(

Yeah I have had students from China talk about the pressure to get married. It seems intense, even from the outside looking in. I remember watching a news documentary about some girls in India who fought back, as a group, when some boys were grabbing them. A lot of times in cases like this, women project the man they want on their son. Their son’s father bailed? He is around but a loser? Well that energy is going into building up their sons as a replacement for the man who didn’t measure up.

Considering most men are garbage in bed, we can just add that a man who doesn’t value a woman enough to commit to her will most definitely not be putting forth the effort needed to please her. This “need” women claim to have for sex isn’t going to most likely be fulfilled by a guy playing this stuff anyways.

Of course a man shut her up. These men all bank on having a young woman given to them by their families one day. The idea that a woman has a right to enjoy sex with her husband, and that it they could be lacking in any way, is not allowed in their view.

Grew up in part in Arkansas. A lot of people look prematurely aged there, sadly, especially the men. I don’t assume the worst in folks without knowing better, but there are several reasons. One, more innocent reason, is that people simply are poorer and have to deal with a lot of the crap that comes with that early on. Not ideal, but not a moral judgement and I feel for them. This is why I get mad at women sometimes right along with the men. We (society), keep investing and pushing women to invest in these shitty dudes. We do it in large part because so many men are giant babies who freak out if the girl doesn’t “give them a chance.” So we offload the losers on women. We push women to take one for the team, so there is one less angry, violent loser of a man for society to deal with. He can be her problem, basically. Yes, I get what the writer and commenters are saying. Even when we tell girls not to play dumb early on, society still pushes that message. Being from the south, I can shed some light. Just in my own experience, there is the more city/urban south, like Nashville, and the rural south. The rural south, dating was awful. People made messes of their lives, didn’t value education, were crazy conservative politically, but lived insane lives. I was pretty liberal, but I interestingly enough led a more conservative life than most of the “conservatives” around me. I worked, went to school, didn’t hook up, didn’t abuse substances, paid my bil…

Boys don’t usually grow up as quickly as girls, that is true. That is because we tolerate shit from men, as a society, we never would tolerate from women. Little boys are not made to grow up.

He was just going to be the greatest thing ever when he grew up. Except he didn’t. Grow up that is. He is in his thirties and has worked for maybe three months of his life. His last girlfriend just said “Screw this,” and left. Now he lives at home with our parents again, and mom can’t stand him. They fight co…

I think that, for a huge part of human history, we didn’t have the option, as women, to be visual. We almost always had to rely on men for income. In many places, women couldn’t even inherit property. Adding to that, women often were property. If your dad was approached by a man or his family, and he agreed to give you to them in exchange for whatever, off you went. So if a man was attracted to you, and he had the means, you might not have had the chance to say no. Add to that, rape victims were…

I have no issue with people having kids early or later. I get there is an increased risk for some things, but that is the dice people sometimes choose to roll. What I take enormous issue with is the idea that women are constantly hounded about how we need to have kids by such and such a date, or we will be forever alone. What I take issue with is the smugness of certain men who believe they don’t have to worry about this too. People need to know there are risks associated with older fathers as w…

I absolutely get that. I had a friend who was just out of the military and going to graduate school. Really good looking girl, with a really kind heart. Men got so upset with her for having standards they couldn’t live up to, and honestly? Her standards weren’t ridiculous. She was an Air Force nurse who was going back to graduate school to be an NP. She had been happily married to a wonderful guy who died in an accident. I think that made it worse for some of those dudes. They couldn’t be like “…

Just to add to this: Some dudes are legit obsessed with passing their genes on. Not raising kids, but just pushing their dna into the future. Reproductive coercion is totally a thing too, and men know that you are going to be the one doing the bulk of the work, or all of it, if they decide to split or play games. Men who purposely try to impregnate women without marrying them are throwing up huge red flags.

The men that mean that, that is a sign of a HVM. I have, hand to God, had several men who go on about how they just want an “average girl” and point out said girl to me. The girl will be in decent shape, nice skin and hair, and overall pretty cute. He will look like crap. They don’t even see women who aren’t physically attractive, except to be mad at their existence. Interesting…

A big part of this is that women are the primary caters for kids when men dip out. He can run off and establish himself financially without worrying about the kids. Yeah, maybe he will pay child support but many don’t. Not to mention child support is a set amount. If a child has an unexpected expense, it (usually) doesn’t mean the man pays more. The woman is the one who has to figure it out.

Yes, and so many women are embarrassed by it too. I have seen my own relatives discreetly hand the card or cash to their husbands so it looks like he is paying. I have seen women at church hand money quietly to their men so they are the ones putting money in the basket in public. It is learned at home. My mother would take money from me all the time, and then claim I asked them for money. They are embarrassed their husbands won’t work, but not ashamed to sign the next generation over to the same…

What is really crazy to me is that so many men don’t do anything to better their lives in their twenties and even into their thirties. They pull their heads out of their asses and start getting it together after the women their ages have been working themselves to near death for fifteen years. The 26 year old in that situation is probably so surrounded by men with the work ethic of sea slugs that the older man probably seems more successful than he actually is, just by comparison. I can say from the experience I had with weirdo men at some churches, there are people within some churches that encourage this as a way to keep a problem contained. They offload some freak on a woman and let her deal with him, instead of them having to handle all his problems.

Yes. Men always complain women get more custody, so let them have the kids half the time. In my experience, the men who really want more custody usually get it unless there are extenuating circumstances. The rest who cry about being “kept from the kids” are often full of crap. Do fifty fifty. If they truly want the kids and take care of them, it will be fair and better for everyone. After reading the article, I noticed the actress in question came from an already fairly wealthy and connected family. Yeah, a lot of people are attracted to power, absolutely. He has the same look on his face as my crazy ex that thought the government was after him and that he was fronting a revolution with posting SJW crap on Facebook five hundred times a day. I think this guy is probably nuts too, who the hell dresses up like that as a grown up, except maybe for Halloween? I am tired of this weird, dorky crap being normalized. A grown man wearing an animal onesie just out and about is freaking stupid and cringey, and I am done with everyone pretending it isn’t. I wo…

You know what burns me up about this? Well the entire thing, but really, while the foster care system is not great, if she is a healthy toddler with legal parental ties severed, there are people lined up for her. Babies are the most adoptable, but kids that young, especially kids with no health issues etc, are very easily adopted. There are probably dozens of families who want that baby.

The level of delusion so many men have is also off putting. Take online dating, just for example. I have heard men complain that women who are significantly overweight mark themselves down as “curvy.” Ok, fair enough, but how many men out there check “athletic”‘for their body build, only for you to show up on a date and be like....um...what?

I think some of these guys are so used to being able to just blame women for everything because of some of the cultural aspects of the military, they skirt by for a good bit blaming their wives. Don’t get me wrong, there are certainly entitled, materialistic, lazy military spouses. However, because such a large minority of military folks hold women and dependents as a constant drain, it wouldn’t matter what the reality is in that house, the woman will be blamed. I have seen women who work and sa…

A lot of people scream about how little the military pays, but I am just like, what, compared to what other 19/20 year olds make? I think that is part of why so many of them go crazy with money. It actually is pretty decent compared to other people their age, and they just lose their minds. I actually do feel bad for some of the people I grew up with who joined. They made good decisions and were decent people, really. Because I grew up in such absolute trash, their screwed up families would hit …

It is always ridiculous to me how so many men in the military blow through their money. My husband is career military, and while I know enlisted make less than officers, when you hear about some of these dudes and how they just go through money, it is insane! However, when you see someone who has been in ten plus years and still has constant financial struggles because of stupid shit, it is mind boggling. I grew up around poverty, so I see …

Yeah, and I get parents need down time, so it isn’t like I get angry when a parent has a night out. Working with coworkers who demanded special shifts they weren’t entitled to so they could drop their kids with their parents off all weekend and party their asses (while the rest of us at the job were expected to take their shifts all the time), it gets old fast. At least they find someone to watch their kids though. Showing up at house parties and seeing kids sit around while adults got wasted, I…

If there is one thing misogynists hate more than women, it is higher value men who defend women. A fit guy speaking up on behalf of women and kids to an out of shape man misappropriating their space would send neckbeards across the land into a foamy mouthed rage.

I bet that guy wasn’t such a looker himself. The amount of men I have know that put themselves down as “athletic” when they are skinny fat at best is ridiculous. Maybe it is a carryover from colonialism? I know that in the past, certain cultures pushed women to be with white men because of a better life, lighter kids etc. So maybe those guys who do this still have that mindset of “I get a few extra points for being white”?

There are good men out there, but age is not what makes them turn some magic switch. We don’t push men in the same way we push women, at least not where I am from. Men expect a cookie for showing up oftentimes, and don’t push themselves to become better. The same underachieving loser you know at 23 will still be an underachieving loser at 33, but he will be able to hide that loser aspect more easily from a younger woman at that point. My ex seemed more together than he was just because I didn’t know any better. We have been broken up for thirteen years now, btw, and I am still a few years younger than he was when I was dating him. What a piece of shit. I hope she realizes what a racist asshat he is for using her as some sort of consolation prize. I feel like this is funny, but also not. My husband is, in many ways, more together than I am. I think we socialize young men to be that level of incompetent, but plenty of them are capable. We need to do better in what we expect, and in how we raise boys. Don’t tolerate a man who can’t act as an adult. I can’t even see how someone can be attracted to someone like that! It is so off putting.

I have said this before and I will say it again: If a woman isn’t having sex with a man she is committed to, start looking at what the issues are. Is she having medical or psychological/emotional issues? Is she worn out from kids, work etc? Sometimes those are the issues. Sometimes though, the guy is just terrible in bed....men don’t need to play themselves like this in public. Start making getting your lady off before you do a priority, and you will start having more regular sex.

I read an article about girls in a rural village in India who fought back against boys who were touching them without consent. The boys parents (moms and dads) brought out sticks and beat the girls. It may not seem related, but I think it is. People tend to freak out if a girl or woman has standards. Societies don’t do well if there are too many unmarried/unpartnered men out there. Yes, and at 27 BMI, she is overweight, but only slightly. Depending on where she lives, she could still be well within average range, body wise, for that area. That is the sort of weight that isn’t as huge a deal as people often think. She mentioned he is also overweight. I would bet he is more so than she is, just based on my own experience. It is interesting to me because, as I look back, I dated two guys who were hardcore against adoption. They went on about how they wanted biological kids for their genes to be passed on. Which is especially hilarious to me because, where I grew up, most men were of the “I get a cookie for trying,” variety. No career, earning potential really. I read that working class areas usually have matriarchal families, and I believe it. Maybe women in more well off areas can be “gold diggers,” but most of the girls I grew up around ended up with chronically unemployed/underemployed men who often enough noped out of being a steady presence in their kids lives. A possibly relevant point of interest: If this guy was also Mormon..... Sometimes super religious people have the mindset of “these girls are for wives in my community, and all others can be treated horribly.” IMO, we need to be wary of men who have religious beliefs that are central to their public and personal identity, but will date outside their “group.” Many have an “in group,” and “out group,” outlook.

A lot of men seem to be upset that women in relationships don’t want to have sex with them. Well, she is committed to you, so it is not like she shouldn’t be open to the idea.... Many times, when you start asking questions, you hear the answers from the woman’s perspective as to why not. Basically, the men stop trying to really please her. I just met some seriously entitled dudes (and a lot of men are already super entitled) who banked on the “tall” thing way too much. My husband is my height, and I have no complaints! I noticed this years ago too. I have rarely seen really attractive people get super into “alternative” lifestyles. Most of the men I know over a certain age who are even slightly physically attractive and have decent personalities and prospects in life are monogamous or want to be monogamous with a woman. I figured that it is because they know they have a decent shot at getting a good quality person to be with at some point, so no need to play around with a bunch of weirdos.

I wonder if it is because she has been socialized to take care of others to the point of her own detriment? That would explain how she would know to get help for him, but also how she was so easily manipulated (and by the way, not blaming her here, totally his fault on this) into “helping”him by having sex with him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/07/20 11:44 PM

I have also noticed a trend of women whose partners don’t care to try and get them off having “low libidos.” I would bet if some of these guys bothered with actual fore play or making sure she got off first (through whatever method), their partners might be more interested in regularly having sex with them.

It is, imo, likely a carry over from the not so distant past in many cultures. Men didn’t even have to ask the women they wanted, they asked her father. Men just had to show up with something material to basically buy her, or promise to take her off the family’s hands and take care of her. Men were allowed to have preferences for pretty younger women. Women were told to go with whoever could reliably feed them. I think there are men out there who would be thrilled to go back to that arrangement,…
