I'm in a similar situation. It's like having a bad roommate - good luck trying to find someone to date who will understand. Total mind###%$#%

it's rough - she has no plan. She served me, but after that has not made any moves (that I'm aware of) to move forward on the divorce. Yes - we had to wait until both kids were in college. But now it's just us in an empty house - and still no movement. Yet I still pay 90% of the bills. Crazy!

I have a similar situation, although my stbx doesn't show up on my dates. But I've lost two really cool girls b/c they're not comfortable with me living at home with my ex. And my ex gets annoyed if I don't come home. Everyone says just get out - but it's tough. Kids, finances - I'm not really sure how anyone does it. The prospect of paying $3K/mo rent, plus alimony seems insane! Sorry you're dealing with this - best of luck.

She didn't cheat b/c you watch porn. She cheated b/c she is a 'broken' person. Or your relationship was broken. I am so very sorry this happened to you bud. Try not to marinate in the hate - b/c things will just get worse. You don't have to be her best friend - be YOUR best friend and move on. Will say a prayer - and send good vibes your way.

I appreciate your comment. We never had a financial plan ,and now I'm feeling the effects of poor financial management. She is extremely passive, so I'm not even sure she's being malicious. Sometimes I think I'm being too nice, but then I go back to the fact that I pushed this by having an affair - there's some guilt there. That said, I take responsibility for the affair, and know I did it b/c my marriage was suffering - I was not happy. I don't recommend an affair to fill the gap of where your …

if we sold the house, debt would chew up a good chunk of equity. This may sound odd, but I consider it 'my' debt b/c I am the one that bought things, charged things, etc. She's not the type to overspend or be materialistic. if we sold the house, I'd likely have a small chunk of change to play with. The cars would be tough - I'm not sure she could afford the payments - I don't even know what we'd do.

I've made some poor financial decisions and have significant tax debt. I don't want to stay - I just need to figure out how to navigate it all.

I feel your pain. I am married over 20 years, she filed 2 years ago, then decided moving out would be too hard, so she 'retracted' the divorce filing. I still pay for everything, including the new car she drives, yet I get zero (no sex) from the relationship. We are roommates at best, except I pay for everything. Bills have stacked up so much that I have 3 jobs now just to try and cover things. PLUS she is sitting on top of an inheritance that I won't be privy to b/c she got it after she filed. …

I was like you I think. I had an affair, wife filed, and then I went nuts dating and sleeping around. It's a grind to be honest, and it doesn't last. You have to ask yourself, why do you feel ok sleeping around when you also have feelings for your wife? Maybe YOU need therapy just to sort through it all? For me, it was less about sex and more about validation and feeling desired.

This. It's easy to use some Instagram, buzzword and relieve yourself of accountability. Anyone can be labeled a narcissist or at least have narcissistic qualities both male and female. But outside of a clinical evaluation, it's not fair to label someone with any kind of Instagram diagnosis. When a relationship dissolves or deteriorates, it's likely both of you. Both had input and destroying it whether passively or proactively.
