Lmao, I remember when I thought older men would be better because they 'know how to treat a woman' and was still using OLD. I put the age range a little higher, 35-45 year old men (I was 27ish) and they all just looked so WEATHERED. I could not imagine myself with any of these guys. I don't understand why men can't use some sunscreen?! You're 35 going on 62

I wanted to respond and offer a followup on here for anyone in the future who goes through this post. Also, I feel like you in particular have a no-BS attitude (can we be best friends?!) and would appreciate this: Since we last spoke, I was like nope, don't really want to see him again because it's just starting off on the wrong foot. I didn't block him though as I didn't think anything of it. He texted/offered a third date....... a movie at his place! And when I ignored that message, he message…

I think it shows a level of self-centeredness and entitlement that I don't want in a partner. It also shows the type of person he is to not think about others, and in this case, his sister, someone I'm assuming he loves greatly. So I do think it's a bit of a red flag that he treats people he 'loves' like that. It isn't necessarily horrible, but just very telling of the type of person he is and how little thought he gives to others. Don't see myself wanting a life partner like that.

Yes, he didn't mention his issues at all, which I'm happy about. Just therapy and how journaling has helped a lot, very casual and vague.

I don't currently go to therapy but I have in the past and it's made a HUGE improvement in my life, so I definitely agree it's a good thing. I'm generally just more closed-off so when people are so open about things early on, I get a little tense lol. But that's my own thing. But you're right, he didn't dump any issues on me (that's good!), it was just mentioned casually.

Very good point, thank you. It's my understanding he started this year and is already down from every week to twice a month because he's made a lot of progress and doesn't need it as much. But without knowing the reasons it's hard to know what you're getting into.

Completely agree. Women out here 'dating' and stressing out about men that have NEVER asked them out on a date. Don't know where you stand with him? Has he asked you on a date? No? You're not dating then. 'Hanging out' LOL. What are we, 14?

I'm such a sucker for a love story! I want to hear more about how you met, the first date, etc etc. 😂 He sounds lovely But honestly, your story is important because I see so many people in relationships nowadays that have a scarcity mindset. Their partners aren't 'bad' but they aren't great either, but you stay because he's not 'that bad' and we think we'll have trouble finding someone as good (or in this case, as average) as them You should never settle for the bare minimum, or as one of my fav…

This is so relatable to what I'm going through, thank you! The guy I was building up in my head was so similar to me - entrepreneur, into fitness, loves outdoor activities, foodies, etc. And I built this fantasy in my head of us being a power couple, working out together, going on hikes on weekends, etc. But in reality, he works A LOT. Like, 6am to 9 PM most days (with breaks in the middle). And he's a gamer. Plus pretty cheap. So, the truth would be he'd be too busy all day, probably want to ga…

Not worth it's own post but wanted to share some hilarious LVM behavior. Matched with a guy on a dating app. He seemed like a decent guy, was very flirty and (I know I f*cked up here) I was pretty direct and said something along the lines of 'maybe you should ask me out already' and this man said 'I'm over dating" LOL. You're on a DATING APP. Literally wanted a hooker/one night stand. Couldn't even offer a LVM date like a drink or 'to hang out.' Point Is: I know maybe it isn't very FDS-y to be d…

This reminds me of a Buddhist lesson I read once! Totally butchering it but it was a variation of glass half full/half empty. It said something like 'imagine the glass is already broken' - because nothing lasts forever, just be comfortable and once/if it does 'break' you can just be like 'oh, there it goes.' It doesn't make you apathetic, but it makes you not so attached to anything in this world.

This ones hard. It's clearly a dealbreaker for both of them so that's that, they should go their separate ways. I don't look down on this guy because he feels he has a duty to his mother and he's not 'living in her basement' but taking care of her. Also the woman is extremely caring and willing to take care of his mom and pay for her, she just wants space. I read somewhere that the only way you can 'playfully insult' someone without being a douche/asshole, is to insult yourself first (self-deprecating humor) so people know it's not personal No man I knew who negged would ever follow that piece of comedy advice Safer to not even go there 😒

I recently just discovered the term 'negging' and was SHOOK at how often men I had dated did it Once when I pulled back from a guy who would neg constantly he told me I was 'too sensitive'..... I mean, maybe I am? But you're too much of an asshole either way 😂

Hahaha, the 'not sure yet' on Bumble made me laugh Adding to #2, the men who 'love debate,' I enjoy talking about different pov's, even taboo topics, but it's a discussion to understand the other persons world better. Someone needs to cancel 'simp' I remember I had a coworker who was madly in love with his wife, like you should be. Did a lot for her, surprises, he was the only one who worked (she stayed home with the kids) etc. He was significantly less attractive than her and shorter (5'4 and she was 5'8 haha). I hate so much about it!! I mean, I understand life could have dealt me worse cards but UGH! Honestly all my struggles go back to adhd in some form or another Also the fact women in general have to work twice as hard for recognition and we struggle to work half as hard

Definite bread-crumbing! I play myself because I don't want a relationship with him either, but I think entertaining these LVM until someone I do want is disrespecting myself and what I bring to the table (Thanks FDS for the wake up call!) Agree with ALL your pink flags - I always remember the quote 'If he's hot and cold it's time to turn off the faucet'
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/02/21 02:18 AM
22

Oh no! I totally get what you’re saying. I’m saying the excuse and jokes about adhd (like he did) is not okay. Like one thing is “I have this condition and I’m trying my best” and another is using it as a crutch to be an ass. And obviously ADHD is different for everyone but my mind wanders when it’s a topic I don’t care about (dated a guy that loved cars, I COULD NOT focus) or it’s a person who I don’t care for much so I have little interest in them/their stories

I have ADHD and before I was diagnosed, my ex would always say I didn't listen to him. I brushed it off honestly - "what are you talking about, of course I listen!' But now that I know it's a real problem and I do get distracted easily, I put in more effort. It's definitely hard but I say things like "I'm so sorry, I got distracted for a minute, can you repeat that?" and don't blow it off as 'LOL! In my culture it's normal for people to stay with family well into their late 20s even 30s. Moving out isn't expected. And although a part of me really likes the idea of multigenerational homes (like how cute would it be to raise my kids and have my mom there?! I love the idea of my kids growing up with their grandparents like I did 😭) But there's so much machismo that a lot of the men expect women (their moms) to do everything for them as that's what they've had their whole lives. Ugh! I really don't have much to add but I can identify with this. People are definitely not all fine. The pandemic has been brutal for most people. I've also had a lot of 'ex regret' during the pandemic, which is silly. I broke up with him for a reason. But MY GOD! The growing pains are tough. Also, maybe get off social media if you're on it? It's all fake. I think I'm going to delete the apps myself until the pandemic ends.

Perhaps I didn’t phrase it right. What I meant was the lack of emotional intelligence is what makes people hurtful as they can’t see their flaws, toxic traits, etc. And I don’t know how people use that phrase. I don’t use it to justify any bad behavior. It’s just a fact, not a way of saying “he had a tough childhood so he can abuse me.” I hope no one uses that as a way to ‘look for the good’ in a bad person
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/02/21 11:48 PM

I gotta completely disagree with you Happy, confident people with full lives don’t hurt others. The emptiness, sadness, pain, insecurity is what inflicts suffering in order to fill a void, numb out, or build up the egos. Men are less in tune with their emotions and pain so cause more suffering. Women process pain in much more healthy manners and that’s why we’re not as ‘dangerous.’ It’s the lack of emotional intelligence, not the lack of pain, that makes men more common perpetrators.

I do feel bad for him. For whatever reason, his upbringing, traumas, or just society as a whole telling men they need to be 'men' and the more women you bed the manlier you are; his life is ruined Hurt people hurt people, and that's exactly what he's done. Instead of looking inward, he tried to fill the hole inside him with worldly pleasures and now he's worse off than before I suppose awareness is a step in he right direction, maybe looooots of therapy, but it seems unlikely to me

Is there really body shaming here? Or are we just stating our likes/dislikes? Do women get offended if a guy says he prefers blondes? Or big boobs? I know I don't, and I'm a brunette with breasts that are nothing to write home about 😂 I like tall men and broad shoulders. That's my thing. Oh for sure. But few start off with that HVW mentality I have friends who say things like “he hasn’t texted me in two days, you think he’s busy?” Grown ass 30 yrs olds I don’t think any of these books are technically useless really. It’s a muscle you’re training that for women (due to conditioning or our sweet nature) just isn’t there So if you’re in that mental situation of justifying shitty behavior, for whatever reason, these books are a wake up call and the first step for many

Wow. Get a lawyer and call the movers. But honestly she needs to be super careful with the law and ensure she gets paid or he's forced to sell the house and split profits 50/50. There are so many loopholes people can use against her. I know a couple thats divorcing and had a property. You're a badass with a heart of gold. LVM won't value that. Even if it was reversed, say you lived at home with your parents because you were waiting to be financially stable/starting a business/married (which is SUPER normal in a lot of cultures like my own), I don't see why anyone would critique that? Yes! Understood! But from the other stuff he wrote, it’s not about ever impressing these men, he considers that ‘basic bitch behavior’ Gotta read more once the book arrives and I’m aware this is a peak into the LVM and pickmeisha mentality more than anything, but should be interesting nonetheless. I also agree with you that most men are as loyal as their options

I don't believe testing is inherently disrespectful. Certain 'tests' are disrespectful, like a text at 11PM. LVM in that case and nothing you can do. But I think many aren't necessarily. Like a last minute date (which many women are ok with) may not be a 'test' in his mind, but you not allowing it and having him set up a proper date 48hrs before shows him your standards in the early stages. LVM can't be bothered to plan a date before, HVM takes note and doesn't offer a last minute happy hour dat…

Is what really respect? I'm not saying asking for basic respect. You should NEXT men who don't from day one. My genuine opinion is that, in the very early stages of courtship LVM and HVM are very similar as there isn't a connection/bond yet. I think respect is earned, not given for most people Example - third date with a guy you fancy. Still not sure if he's HVM or LVM At the end of the third date he says 'Want to go back to my place for a nightcap?" A common 'test' that both HVM and LVM do, and…

Right! I wish I could read books about dating the best, most HVM ever, but unfortunately, for every 1 HVM, you'll probably have to NEXT! 10 LVM/NVM so it's good to be prepared mentally (plus not fall into the pickmeisha traits he describes)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/02/21 07:24 PM
3

Based on the comments, it gives you a direct look into the mindset of LVM/NVM and how pickmeisha's act which helps in spotting/avoiding the men (and that behavior in ourselves as well) Just avoid any advice he gives (he promotes phone sex heavily apparently)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/02/21 07:22 PM

Maybe I read more than this snippet shows but his whole thing is to stop competing with other women and to stop competing for male attention. Your value is internal, not looks, job, wealth etc. he says. Confident women aren't threatened by other women and don't need male validation. Couldn't include the whole chapters 😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/02/21 07:10 PM

Hmm. Can't say I agree I think we can't compare the way our mind works with that of men because it's just night and day. And I think men telling you they don't see a future and being open to sex isn't necessarily respect. It's a million times better than lying, but to me it's them taking the blame away. 'I'm a good guy, I'm giving you the option to let me use you for my sexual pleasure, what do you say?" is what I hear when they say that. They don't have to be nice or text/call, take you out, an…

I don't think you even understand what you're asking tbh If you can have casual sex and not care, and think you can still go and date/attract HVM, then more power to you. But I don't think you'd be questioning it if that were true. You don't need anyones stamp of approval and much less need to live your life based on a book. Take what you need and leave what you don't, good luck

Hahaha, exactly!! This isn't him saying, 'hey! all men are scum and low value,' this is him saying "men will do and treat you as well as you allow us to, you SHOW us how to treat you" I also agree with you, that I don't believe there is a huge distinction between the mindset of LVM and HVM (of course, ignoring the deeply toxic and misogynistic men as a whole, just comparing standard LVM, minimal effort to HVM), all men test women in the beginning the same way we test them. Hmmm. I got something else from it tbh. Like the second one on sex. A lot of pickmeisha’s think a man wanting to have sex with them or wanting them is a big deal. Thinking a man sleeping with you is a big deal. ‘He wouldn’t go through all this effort if he didn’t want me’ but, like he said, that doesn’t mean shit. It’s just the chase for these guys. Yeah totally get that! This is the first book of his I'll read beyond the blog so let's see.. Since he's LVM, I'll literally just reverse whatever advice he gives 😂

Eeeeek... Less excited. The reviews were mixed between 'life-changing!' and 'garbage' 😂 Let's see once it arrives. Oh well Edit: Oh! Did you mean the first pages of the book and the rest sucked or the snippets I put above? I may have misunderstood

I'm sure there are some other women here who could give you better advice than I can but this is my two cents from experience: FWB's don't work. They sound like a good idea, but in reality they just set you up to be used and disrespected. Men with FWB's treat them as f*ck buddies and after sleeping with you will likely put you on the back burner for weeks/months. I know we tell ourselves 'I'm not into him so it doesn't matter' but at the end of the day, it doesn't feel good when you're sleeping …

Ohh damn, I was unaware.. I mean, I would never classify him as classy or someone I wanted to date you know 😂as he does strike me as... uhm.... eh, let's just go with LVM, can't put my finger on the word I'm looking for. There was just an article on his blog that I was like, NOPE, don't agree with ANY of that But honestly, sometimes reading the mindset of these LVM makes you understand better how to spot and avoid them. Like how addicts lead AA meetings because they know, better than anyone, wha…

G.L Lambert is definitely not for everyone but I think he does an AMAZING job at describing the mindset of men. Even if you don't agree with some of the stuff he says or his POV's, it's worth a read just to understand the psychology of some of these men. A lot of male dating coaches have good intentions but honestly stuff they say doesn't work. They themselves think they want women to approach them. That asking HIM out is hot, but in reality, men love the chase. When you ask out a man, they alre…

Honestly, being single for a women isn’t a big deal but insanely affects the wellbeing of men. What’s funny about the fact that single, childless women are happier study is that women with children rank higher on having a sense of purpose and fulfillment, even if they’re not as happy as their childless counterparts (obviously, children are stressful and cause a million worries) But my point is, either way women are OKAY!! Childless and single? You’ll be happier! Have children? You’ll have more s…

You know, i read a study (gotta find it) that shows millennials and gen z-ers are having much less sex than the generations before them One obvious reason is technology/social media gives us a false sense of connection plus keeps us busy 24/7. 30 years ago, if you don't go out on a friday night you were a loser/hermit/etc. Nowadays, it's so normal to stay in, watch netflix, swipe on OLD, etc. People go on these apps, fill in that hole of boredom, get an ego boost and then ghost. Sex is obviously…

My sense of humor is very similar to this and I've said things like this not even to bother men but just to be witty and it really shows you who has a sense of humor and who takes themselves WAY too seriously. 10/10 recommend as a vetting process Went to a haunted house with a bunch of friends once and one of the guys I fancied was a cop and he got terrified at one point, literally knocked me down when something scared him. I told him he was a liar, no way he was a cop. Probably a mall cop on a …

Even though I want to get married at some point, a part of me doesn't want to let go of my last name. Maybe that would changes if I'm madly in love lmao, but I'm fond of it. Also, I'm hispanic originally, but living in the states and working in Europe (pre and post pandemic, hopefully) has me only dating American and British or German men. Lovely names, but I can't imagine my latin self (or my half latin babies) with a last name like Smith or Jones Also, If I ever do have a child and am not marr…

Happens to the best of us! Pshh, happened to me around the holidays and I was mopey for a week 😒 But honestly, social media is not real. No one's as happy as they seem online, and certainly not 24/7 Also, you said it seems he's treating his new girl '10x better than how he treated you,' whether behind the scenes thats true or not doesn't really matter, the fact is he treated YOU that badly. (How bad was he treating you that he can 10x that?) I don't try to demonize exes, but I write down the neg…

I've literally had guys be like 'text me when you get home' and I forget to do so.... Ask me how many followed through and double checked I did, in fact, get home safe? Ahem. One. And I can't even begin to count the number of dates and outings I've been on in the past 10 years. One I remember texting being like "Home safe!" and he replied the following day all '"LOL, I feel asleep. But figured you would"

I completely agree with this. Also, what I like about getting a ring that’s been in the family for generations is the fact that if the grandmother or mom gave it to my (future) husband, it’s a strong sign they love and welcome me into the family. I doubt a mother would give their son the family ring to someone they hated seeing him with.

I've always said men and women can't be friends, at least not genuinely. You can pretend you're friends, hang out, have fun, etc. but there is always an ulterior motive. I think my longest male friends cap at 2 years or so? Once they realize the friend zone is permanent. I also have one great guy friend of 10+ years because he's my good friends brother...... but he's asked me out on dates in the past sooooooo........ Literally that scene in When Harry Met Sally is spot on about male/female frien…

Good on you for blocking and not giving him anymore time! Really wish I had found this sub when I first started dating. That could have easily been 18 year old me but I would have made excuses and allowed these men to 'orbit.' (Don't get me started on orbiters!! Its a huge LVM pet peeve of mine 😡)

Very liberal! My connotation of the word 'radical feminism' is quite negative, but I also associate it with the type of feminist she is, so I'll have to check what the definitions are exactly 😂 might have them in reverse

Have to add those books to my TBR, thank you. Also found this very brief cliff notes version of the history of marriage that’s quite good and enlightening https://theweek.com/articles/528746/origins-marriage Learning a lot from this sub already 😂

Hmmmm.. I’ll have to read up on this but I always thought it was a business deal between families to form alliances first and foremost. It doesn’t help that women had no choice and were traded like cattle but I don’t believe it was about servitude/owning us, but it definitely wasn’t for our benefit a lot of times, mostly for our families/fathers. I suppose men could argue a lot of them has no choice in their brides in ancient times as well? Definitely going to have to read up on this as it’s an …

If you have a conversation with her, you'd think she's the biggest feminist, just one little sample "marriage is a form of slavery for woman and is only used to own them" Uhm. I haven't done thorough research so maybe my ignorance is showing, but maybe yeah years back it was a way to own woman, but it actually has a lot of benefits for the children and nowadays (in most cultures) it's a choice (Also! Very ironic she doesn't see the irony in that sentence in regards to her current relationship)

It's SO hard to be neutral and not try to fix peoples lives but MY GOD right A connection and good sex isn't enough. You can find that with so many others and be with someone who values you, which he does not

30% child support is unheard of. It's my understanding (someone in law correct me if I'm wrong) that they add up both parents salary and multiply that by a % that varies state to state, typically 15% is a number I see for a family with one child. So 15% of both parents income is what the state determines is the total cost of raising the child and FROM THERE, determine how much the noncustodial parent pays depending on his share of income. So if they both made identical incomes, he would pay 7.5%…
