At the start of my separation I had a lot of dreams where my son was a newborn again and he was usually lost in some kind of big house and I couldn't find him no matter how hard I searched. Figured it was just my anxieties over losing my relationship with him.

I'm in the exact same position, brother. Most people are recommendeding lifting, and I will too. This isn't just an arbitrary thing. If you're not already lifting, you will find that cultivating this habit has a ripple effect that brings a lot of good consequences besides a healthier, better looking body. Besides that, you need to use this extra time to make yourself into a man your little girl can admire! You are the man who will shape what it means to be a man to her. A big responsibility, but…

Take it from me, currently going through a similar situation. It's game over now. And the only thing you can do is prepare yourself. Practically that means getting legal advice, discussing custody, working out all the logistics. Be there for your kids as much as possible. Their world is about to drastically change. Focus on being the best dad you can be. Continue to lift, and start tomorrow if you haven't already. In the future, avoid ultimatums. It looks like a power position at first glance bu…

She's moving out at the beginning of October. I put some legal protections in place before buying the house since I was the only one putting money down, so I can keep that with little issue. She may try to contest it, but her case will be weak. (She'll be renting from her sister at a subsidised rate). Since I will be having 50/50 custody of the kids, there is no child support to pay. It's been reasonably amicable, all things considered. However, I am very aware she could be lying through her tee…

What is the difference between cheating and an affair? By an affair, do you mean preparing a better option to leave for as opposed to just banging?

Thanks, man. The gym has really been a constant for me, although I've clearly let other things slip.

I dunno, man. Probably allow my marriage to deteriorate over a 4 year period or something.

Up until she said she wanted a divorce we were having a lot of sex. It was good sex too. 2 - 3 times a week. We both initiated.

That is definitely something Ive considered, but we were still having a lot of sex even up to the divorce initiation. Maybe that doesn't really mean much though.

I considered that was a possibility. Particularly because she'd asked me if I was cheating.

Maybe I am stupid, but the following are things she's done since initiating divorce that I would not consider normal behaviour towards somebody you were emotionally detached from: asking me if I've cheated on her inviting me to spend time with her and her family texting me throughout the day to 'be safe' (working outdoors in a heatwave asking me when I'm home to get food ready for me buying me gifts I hadn't asked for remaining in the family home after saying you were leaving It's a common sayin…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
