I agree, until the heroes part. Newish cops? Sure. After a while though the system gets to the vast majority of police officers in some way or the other. I don't blame any individual cop for what they do, I blame the system. I don't think we need to change the narrative on men so that police officers don't kill them the same way I don't think the narrative on black people needs to change.

It’s saying that if you’re here for a gather round let’s share interesting theories/facts thought circle, you’re not helping. If said theory or fact helps police to not act the way they currently do, or change the way police are organized, all for it. If you think this helps affect REAL change, I genuinely would love to hear why.

Well to be honest it kind of sounds like your parents pushed a specific way of life on you and yea you pushed away from that. I don’t necessarily believe I can “shape a child how I wish” but more so I can give them a general direction of life and offer a lifetime of support. Big distinction that I think many parents get terribly wrong. Their is no right or wrong way to raise a child in my humble opinion. Their is only the way to raise your child. Anytime religion is deeply involved in an upbring…

Well that goes both ways right? In terms of information and education on these experiences. From my experience, the concept of kids leaving the house at 18 and never speaking to their parents is very cultural. If you know that it’s an issue you can keep it in the forefront of your brain where as my parents for example definitely did not. Call me insane, but I’ll go out on a limb and say my child will not grow up with “crazy” religious beliefs, be a criminal (that’s especially a weird one to be a…

Relevant, also not relevant. It’s extremely interesting as a father in their late 20’s seeing people who I assume don’t have kids, talk about what it’s like to have kids or just opinions on it in general. We live in such a value based “logical” thinking way of doing things that an “emotional” choice of having a child is so unimaginable for so many.

pretty big assumptions. Not really sure which ones specifically you're talking about? I promise you they're all valid in my book. I assure you I would still be asking this question if I wasn't personally into sports.

That link is interesting, do you have the study specifics? I looked but don’t see where the data is coming from. My friend group is unique but we do share intimate details about our lives and kinda just sit and chat a majority of the time. In my experience guys that do the side to side relationship style don’t have a lot of friends and I usually think that’s the reason why.

Obviously I’m not saying that there are literally NO women playing sports on the planet. I assumed most people understood that, clearly you didn’t. The post is why don’t MORE women play sports. I don’t appreciate how you’re coming at me, and if you think a post isn’t sincere please just don’t interact with it. I literally said I don’t know where I would be if I weren’t for sports but…it wasn’t sincere? Just weird behavior. Keep on scrolling next time.

Shaming? Bullying? Picking on? That’s what you got from me posing this question? Seriously?

Thank you for this! I don’t wanna put words in your mouth but it sounds like you more so compete against yourself rather than anyone else?

This was a whole lot of assuming and came off a bit weird but sure. I’ve been on golf courses, not a ton of women. I’ve spent countless amount of hours on tennis courts, not a lot of women. Hiking, gyms, running, camping, I have seen a good amount of women. Essentially saying that I’m not looking in the right places is…a take for sure.

Are these specifically women on dating apps? Also, traveling isn’t a “legit” hobby? Trying new restaurants isn’t a “legit” hobby?

Yes, all the time. I also have friends that I play sports with for sure, but my close close friends? I go over, we’ll order food or make a meal, and yea literally just bullshit about life for hours on end. Granted, my friends are amazing. Even if I’m invited over an acquaintance’s house for a game, most of the time we’re not REALLY watching the game ya know? It turns into a heated debate after 15 minutes the vast majority of the time. The last part is interesting. I can’t speak for women but it …

What other ways do women bond and socialize that you don’t see as much from men?

I’m speaking on the general public in regards to my country, the United States of America. Whether that be on the internet or in person.

Sort of agree, sort of disagree. For me and a lot of men sports has always felt like much more “game” than “competition” and I think women feel the opposite.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/23 03:47 AM

Don’t think men use sports as an excuse to drink or eat but okay. Why don’t you think women find self esteem in physical competition?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/23 03:46 AM

Fuck that’s so stupid. I’m sorry you had that experience. I will say as someone that was always a bit taller and fit, sports was always kind of a “why are you not doing this?” Sort of thing. I’m always reminded just how important positive reinforcement is.

Gotcha. So it seems like at the end of the day you’re going to be active but make sure that while being active you’re also going to enjoy yourself as much as possible?

Interesting. The “choice” between sports and the arts has always intrigued me. Really does seem like most people go one way or the other and don’t overlap much.

Strongly disagree with the big machismo thing considering the popularity of sports like tennis and golf, but I see where you’re coming from.

Why didn’t you continue playing as an adult?

Well a lot of things are boring if you’re not too into them so yea that makes sense. Plenty of people like sports and don’t identify with the teams? Or play individual sports? What sports do men make fun of?

Interesting. What community? I play tennis mostly, but also basketball, volleyball, the occasional pickup soccer game or softball game. Give a group of guys a ball and we’re having the time of our lives. It’s just never really felt like women share the same feelings.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/23 02:36 AM

I’m basing it on my experience yes, but much more than personal. I can drive past any outdoor basketball court right this hour for example and see a court full of men. Same with a soccer field. Same with a tennis court. I will say I would imagine the United States, where I am, has a much more pronounced gap than other nations. If I saw a group of women playing pickup basketball I would be absolutely floored.

Okay, what about the adult women that don’t have families? Which these days feels like a LOT of women. They have plenty of hobbies, but very rarely, in my experience of course, are sports a part of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/23 02:30 AM

Both. You’re right they have been, but it feels like women still tend to totally abandon the notion of playing sports say with friends on the weekends where as men tend to try and play at least casually.

The standard for dating shouldn’t be online. I’ve come to realize that a certain type of person consistently uses dating apps.

Outside of men in their personal lives? Literally nobody. Naming celebrities you don’t know is insanity. Connect with a family member or someone In your community.

That women are better caretakers? Be serious. I can get behind financial separation. This is a different conversation then. Wow almost as if females make up half the population. Support? What support? Believe them in what aspect? Pretty successful? Dude seriously? Please physically walk into a local police office and tell me if you think those dudes are listening to what any average women has to say. Sounds nice, won’t ever happen in something like a draft. You know why. We can literally just go…

This is a fun one. Because history, yes. One person has to do the thing, one doesn’t. Really don’t see how this is even a discussion. It sucks, it’s also just life. Guess it’s also racist? This is true for so many different groups. More attention? Sure. More actual support? Where? You really think local police offices care about metoo? I would love to hear an alternative. Because women spent years being abused in shelters from drugged out men with nothing to lose. WIC does that because it allows…

I think two big things are happening here at once. You’re focusing on internet, probably very young, probably very attention seeking feminists. I implore you to have a conversation with a feminist over 25 at the very least, and in person if possible. The “feminists” you’re talking about don’t actually believe anything they’re saying. They’re just repeating things they’ve seen online. You’re bunching all feminism together. Granted, the organizing has been horrendous, but at this point it’s very f…

Hey here’s proof that me and that guy did indeed go out? I’m trying to realistically envision this scenario. As a grown adult man raising a young boy, the absolute last thing on my mind when it comes to my life and his, is meeting a woman and doing anything that would lead her to accusing me of a serious crime that I didn’t do, or dragging my name through the mud online.
/r/MensRights07/02/23 02:03 AM

Could be libel, could be slander. Could also just be true. Is one of these guys gonna lose a job over a bitter woman on tinder? I would be shocked if any of these women committed any serious crimes against any of these dudes. Sounds like a bunch of women gossiping online. Like I said, they’re all literally public profiles. Out of all the legitimately harmful things men face today, seems like a strange thing to give attention to.

In a world where everything you put on the internet is public, why care? I would guess most people move the conversation away from the app when a conversation gets personal. Humans gossip about other humans. It is a bit jarring to see it in an open forum? Other than that? Trying to understand why anyone would care.
