This post is sweet! I am beaming reading this over breakfast.

I have been on the receiving end for mean-spirited jokes by colleagues who are older, insecure of their looks and are racists. My response would be either just do a poker face or remove myself from the situation if they would continue jabbing just to get a reaction. It's hard to talk to tell them to stop when I get upset by it because I know what would come out of my mouth and it wouldn't be anything nice. Also, I know I would get all teary because I always do when I get upset. So yes I'd second…

I agree with what you said. I have been in a relationship where the guy was already on the lookout for another girl before he checked out from our relationship and ended it. It was hurtful but I still hope that one day I will find someone who is honest and direct. I get what you're saying about this subreddit and about not over investing early on. It's just that for me, when I know the guy I am interested in is also going out and talking to other girls, it would take me longer to feel confident …

Silly old me would be giddy at the thought but to be real and honest, if that is the case, I only beat out all the other women in his life only up to that point when he said that he would commit to me as a boyfriend. Two, three years down the road, who knows things might not work out and the same thing still applies to another woman in his life. I've had guys try to bring other girls into the picture just to see if I would compete for them. I noped out immediately when they did that cos I felt t…

Thanks for your input, I definitely agree with it. However I apologize for not being clear with my response, what I meant was I wasn't sure if I would want to go for a LTR with a guy that tried to highlight his desirability by chatting up other girls at the same time and do it openly. My last ex did this and approached me by saying "I choose you". Of course that made me feel special, and felt that I was the chosen one, but what made me determine to go into a relationship with him was our shared …

I'm a girl and I'm not sure if this works for me. Once there's a guy I talk regularly with, I slow down or stop talking with the other guys even when we haven't discussed on getting exclusive. If I like him, I like him. But if I found out that he's actively chatting up other girls, I'd get turned off instantly. If I have to compete for your time/attention, then what is it worth to me anyways?

Watercolor painting, you can paint postcards and send them for postcard exchange with strangers all around the world, or sell them online for extra income.

Just curious. If the situation was flipped and she told you all the answers you wanted to hear, but along the line she never delivered what she promised she could bring to the table, how would you know then that she was qualified for your time?

That sucks. I guess you can spend time listening to motivational videos. Try Matthew Hussey's channel. He mainly talks about dating but most of his videos apply to other relationships as well. All the best to you!

I'll start with limiting my time with people and spending more time with myself. Find new activities to do and talk to people from different backgrounds online. Also, try volunteering and do things for people without expecting in return. That should be a good start for you :)

You are feeling insecure because this has never happened before and it's normal to feel that way. i would be pissed and annoyed if the same thing happened to me but now that it's happening to you, you've got to ask yourself whether dating someone with such a personality is what you want. You can't force her to change though you can certainly share your concerns, maybe you casually bring it up the next time you see her. You have to draw a line somewhere and it isn't appropriate for her to be goin…

I guess i'll just back off once i realize that the other person isn't excited about the prospect of having a relationship with me. It's not like you can force them into wanting the same thing anyway.

That's so sweet of you. Girls sure like the assurance sometimes. I hope you will have fun at the beach and hope all goes well with you both :)

Maybe you can plan for a road trip or go to somewhere new with her, like bring her out of the usual setting. This is to see how she deals with challenges and whether you guys can work as a team. Of course you can go on and tell her you feel, as you said you feel that she's worth the investment, but i think it's important to build the foundation of the relationship not on feelings alone. As the saying goes, "If it is right, it happens — The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away." Wha…

As a girl, i would greatly appreciate it if a guy truly takes him to get to know more about me instead of trying to move it to the next level or develop the relationship into something serious. That explains a lot about his character, and brownie points if he does that to make sure we're somewhat compatible before he even considers being serious with me.

If they're on dating apps chances are they'll ghost. They have so many options that their attention span is shortened so they are always on to the next convo and to the next perfect right swipe.

If it really bothers you then i think you should talk to her and let her know what you think and feel. Maybe he doesn't have any romantic feelings for her or it's just in his nature to be protective of her now that she has someone new in her life, since they have been friends for so long and had many experiences together. I'd be annoyed too if i were in your place and would talk about it with her calmly just for my own peace of mind.

Does she talk a lot about her friend? I'd ask to hang out together with him and meet him in person though. Just to observe how they treat each other in person and maybe in a way let him know gently that you are ok with him being her friend but there will be limits to that.

I understand about the confusion, depression tends do that to our minds. How are you coping now? Do you get enough sleep and eating well? How are things at school for you? I'm asking this so we can see whether now is the perfect time to tackle this issue. The affair must be bugging you a lot but the most important thing now is that all your needs are met and you're not behind in studies. Do you have an older relative you can talk to? Since you and your half siblings are not at a pleasant term i …

How is your mom's condition right now? Is she hospitalized or bed-ridden at home? I'd advice you take a quiet time with your mom and ask her about you saw on her phone. Do it in a calm manner and prepare ahead of time not to be influenced by her response. Then after listening to her reasoning, tell her how you feel about what she's done to your dad, and only then decide how you want to break it to your dad. Are you the only child, or do you have other siblings that you can count on to talk over …
