All these comments are full of possible scenarios. But it's also possible that he enjoyed the trip more than her company, and wanted to share the experience with the person he cares about (you). Maybe he ate he best food he's ever had at a nearby restaurant and wants you to try it. Maybe the sunset was indescribably beautiful at that location and he wants you to see. Maybe he really sucks. But I don't think we can definitively conclude that this is a problem.

Obviously what she said is ridiculous, but as a woman who shouldn't have married her husband but absolutely loves her daughter, let me explain. Parenting takes up much of my time and is obviously a huge lifetime commitment. However, it's an enjoyable commitment. I love watching my kiddo grow up. I love doing everything I can for her. That's one of my biggest gripes with men. If casual sex degrades women, and it doesn't degrade men, how is any man okay with doing it? Some might even admit, "I'm okay with degrading women." I know it is so frustrating, but you don't have to think of it like that. Your name is your name. It doesn't have to matter where you got it. You said your mother's birth name is just technically her father's. Who says? Why does her father get to own his name but her's is just on loan? Wouldn't that mean that his name isn't really his, but really his father's? And so on and so on until we get to the point where humans didn't have surnames.

Keep that mentality up! I'm actually married and stumbled upon FDS accidentally and it's really given me the confidence to only accept respect and to not let my husband's disrespect bother me on a personal level.
