I still don't understand why women are upset by this. Don't they employ the same strategy? It's totally normal to be on dating apps and going out with multiple people until you find the most compatible.

Everyone is talking about guys not actually needing women anymore... But wouldn't this make women try harder to compete with something that is almost perfect?

This reminds me of the time my exgirlfriend told she wanted a boyfriend AND a husband: someone to take care of her and someone to have fun with. What a terrible thing to say. But so predictable now.

Things started going downhill with the girl I dated longest when I told her no. No I won't call a store for you to find out their hours, I'm busy, do it yourself. So stupid.

This reminds me of a small win I had 2 months ago. I was getting a bite to eat with a girl before we went to a social dance. On our way to the restaurant she asked me about my weekend so I told her. After we ordered, she sat at the table reading facebook on her phone and apologized saying she was just catching up on her newsfeed and continued to do so. I looked at her and calmly asked her to do that later so I could continue telling her about my weekend. She looked at me like a deer in headlight…

Just a short anecdote from last night: I met up with a friend to do a bit of dancing after a weekend out of town, and grabbed a slice of pizza before the dance. She was in her phone when before I got there checking facebook. We chatted a bit while waiting for my slice, but as we were sitting there together she says "sorry, I'm just catching up on my Facebook messages" and then goes back to reading hey phone like I'm not there. I said "Maybe you can catch up later so I can tell you about the rest…

I've recently seen this play out in real life. A 24 year old female friend of mine who is applying for medical school is considering whether she really wants to do that at all. Given the time to complete medical school, residency, etc, she would be 37 by the time she's done. She's concerned that she'll be too old to have kids by the time she's done and she's still single at this point. When we discussed this I pointed out that at that age it's not only more difficult to have children but that th…

To find out if they can cook I like to ask what their favorite dish is to cook. Usually I find out I cook better than they can, but it's always nice to be proven wrong.

If you live in a city with good public transportation there's no need for a car. You save so much money not having to pay for gas/insurance/parking plus no headaches of driving in traffic. I take the subway downtown and catch a bus to work from there, and the trains go anywhere I want to go besides. Cabs, sidecar, or lyft are always within easy reach as well.

I'm 28 but totally understand your sentiment. Take my advice and don't do the things I did. Go to the gym now while you can. I'm going to get a trainer tomorrow because I'm sick of the way I look and feel and want to build some muscle for the first time in my life.

This had been my experience with salsa as well. It's made me more confident not only in leading our going up to women but has also gotten me more comfortable with touching which I was not good at before.

Being from the USA and graduating high school in a time of war I decided not to join the military. That aside, a small part of me wishes we had one year compulsory service because I would've had my ass whooped into shape early on and it would have been easier to maintain than starting from scratch at 28.

They start with a small portion of the truth and gradually let the rest out after seeing how you react. Usually the rest is worse. "don't worry, he kissed me but I pushed him away." "OK, I forgive you." "Actually I may have kissed him back, but only once." "well I can forgive one kiss." "this actually isn't the first time this has happened and we've fucked too while you were at work earning money for our life together."

Would you explain why him offering the jacket he was wearing was a display of low value? I've had girls before ask me for my coat and I said something like "well if I do that then I'll be cold. Why didn't you dress for the weather? You know it's cold outside."

Since many men are NOT the ones behind the problems she mentions, I propose an asshole tax to only tax those responsible. The nation as a whole simply votes on these people and, if it is determined they are an asshole, then we tax them.

Oh man. My roommate is Brazilian and so is this girl he's seeing, and last night she tried to hook me up with some of her girlfriends via facebook. She shows me pictures of 2 of them on facebook. One is totally hot, the other is not bad either but definitely a 2nd compared to the 1st. So she shows me this girl's profile and there are kids. So I asked "Wait, does she have kids" "Yes, but just 1". Me: "That's a dealbreaker." I go on to view the 2nd girl's profile and see some thing about 100 days …

I cannot stress using a crockpot enough. I cooked 2 meals in 4 hours last week. Just cut everything up and walk away. A coworker makes fun of me because I sound like her dad meanwhile she ways pasta for dinner and tuna or pbj sandwiches for lunch. Can't cook worth a damn and her roommates take pity on her and share their dinner with her. She's in a LDR which probably explains why her bf hasn't noticed. Unless he flat out doesn't care.

Hmm. Reading this made me think "god damn it!" Here's what happened. I invited this girl over to my place for dinner. I'd invited her for a Sunday in the middle of the week, and she said it sounded good. Then Sunday rolls around, and I confirm when she's coming over. She then says that Sunday's not too good and maybe during the week. I suggest then Tuesday as that's the best day for me. Took me a while to realize this myself but when your girl gets mad there's not much you can to change it. Just keep your cool, don't react, and don't get mad back. It's what they want. One girl I dated briefly remarked that I didn't get mad when she did, and that that annoyed her. I told her it's her problem, not mine, and she'll get over it eventually and all I have to do is wait it out. 20 minutes later everything was fine. Of course sometimes it takes much longer.

I've been spending some time with 2 girls, one from Germany and one from Austria. So far both insist on repaying me for anything I purchase on my own. Entry to a brewery? Boom, paid back. Got a deal on a normally expensive outing? Boom, I just got paid half. I have no idea where to go from here, or how important this even is but so far they've been impressing me more than American women I meet who seem to show no interest at all.

Friday after work I went to the wine bar at my local Goethe Institute to practice my German, drink wine, and see my friends. Met a girl who just started learning German there 2 weeks who told me she could only tell me her phone number. So I told her to put it in my phone. She declined. Guys, if you're under 26, you can get the HPV vaccine. This will drastically reduce your changes of A) getting HPV (and, later, throat cancer) and B) reduce your risk of spreading it to women when you go down on them. Many insurance providers now even pay for it completely. Edit: this applies to the USA.

Looks like it's time for this guy to pull a hail mary. Better convince her he can't currently raise a child and continue with schooling and she'll need to get an abortion so they can have the child they both want after he's graduated and making the big bucks. As soon as the abortion's completed, he has to break up with her.

So here's the context you asked for. We were coworkers for a long time and would always argue (bicker) back and forth at work and got to be very close. Some people actually thought we were dating, and I somewhat considered her to be my "work spouse" if you've ever heard that term. We were out to dinner which she initiated to catch up since we hadn't seen each other in a while (I'd started a new job) and she said it here while talking about how busy she was or something. On Saturday night I went to a lock and key dating event at a local club. This place has an all female wait staff and the bartenders are not only hot but all wear corsets, so I'll definitely be going back here for the views. Anyway, these events all women get a lock and all the guys get keys, and you have to find your matching lock and key by talking to as many people as possible. Why is it that women are so concerned with having fun? This one even mentioned it in the article. The last girl I dated told me she just wanted to have fun and was perplexed when I came home from work stressed out because I had to find a place to live in a month or face being homeless, and still also had to pay my bills. She didn't understand! All she wanted to do was have fun! And I couldn't because I was too busy being an adult. I partly blame this on cultural differences though (she's Korean)…

I don't consider this trolling but if you put it in terms of men as victims you won't be taken seriously because "all men are rapists." If you look at in terms of women trying to help others understand why they shouldn't make false claims then it becomes very different.

I understand where you're coming from here but I got sick of okcupid after getting almost zero responses, and no 2nd replies when I did get the first reply. Anyway, I agree about the personal interactions. I think I come off better in person than online anyway (as I think most people do). It's just a matter of motivation to go out and meet people, which salsa has been helping a lot with. As far as the porn, I don't watch it, and I don't really feel the urge to go out and get laid anyway. I'm ser…

So question here: I'm surprised that guys weren't really bothered one way or the other. I like to think there's a code of honor that if I meet a girl and her boyfriend's like right over there then I'm going to leave her alone out of honor/respect for the other guy. Then I think that other guys wouldn't always do the same for me. Thoughts here on honor?

So let's say I have an attractive female friend. I ask her to come with the bar to me one night, and just be very flirtatious and act like we're together in order to draw the attention of other women. Would this be the same thing as actual cases of preselection? Gaming the theory, so to speak? Also makes me think that it might be harder to get women this way if they think you're dating the wing woman.

One thing I've been thinking a lot about lately is location. I live in Boston where it's normal to be single/unmarried in your 30s.if this is the kind of thing I'm looking for maybe I'd have better luck moving to the South/Midwest where people get married younger. That may put me at a disadvantage as I'm 27 but I'd just have to find a younger woman.
