The divorce papers would be drawn up within 60 days of no sex. I might not be a rockstar at making it get good, but I'd never let it get that bad. I'm perfectly happy with or without a girlfriend/wife.

House isn't in my name at all so I don't think she could take the house. But I don't want to live here forever anyway, so good advice on the get a house first. My leadership has always been shit because I've always been more of the lone wolf, do it myself guy. But if I have to do everything around this house for more than just me, I'm gonna go crazy so I have to delegate. But I'm used to the Army, where if someone higher ranking tells you to do something you just do it. The Army isn't the best p…

I don't pay for her groceries, and she has to pay for a cut of the utilities (or else she'll crank the heat/AC to no end). But my rent is so low that I pay all of it, mostly so I never get used to her money coming in. You're right though, I have probably trended in the direction of subsidizing her life.

She's an Instagram fashion model. Not like she's raking in the dough yet, but she gets sponsorships and free stuff and $100 deals pretty often. She has a work ethic, just a lot of it is focused on that endeavor (i.e. She has posted a photo every day for the last 2 years). I didn't really give you guys enough context about her, I guess. She does dishes, picks up after herself, isn't a slob, does the laundry. It's just not like clockwork like I'd like it to be. Maybe I should just manage my expect…

I went through the sidebar like a madman in 1 month over a year ago, so it's been a while. I should probably brush up on covert contracts again. Thanks for the comments.

Which is why it's better to make more than her and not be in a position where you're dependent on her income for your lifestyle/happiness. That's where the power of money comes in.

Justpickanyusername has some good advice. In the meantime, I'd suggest practicing Outcome Independence, Lifting, and just not being concerned with how she feels (not being mean, but just not letting her emotions or words affect you. She's being an asshole to you, so fuck her). If you start to show her that you don't need her for anything other than sex, and you let her know you're not going to be settling for handjobs or masturbation any more... her "oh shit" function will eventually flip on.

I wouldn't say you're RAMBO'ing. As a matter of fact, you might be leaning on AM/AA too much. You shouldn't have to take that level of disrespect with a smile. When she turned on you it in the beginning of the story it was a shit test, and a contemptuous one in fact. She's the one with the disgusting attitude, the next time she's even remotely that shitty to you just ignore her and do something you'd rather do that doesn't include her. It will break her and eventually she'll come and comfort tes…

Don't take any shit. If she gives you shit, think of something productive you could be doing right then and do that instead. I live with my LTR, and I pretty much take her misbehavior as a sign from the Universe to take care of shit I'm procrastinating on. Condition your availability to her pleasantness. If she isn't being pleasant, then she doesn't get your time. Simple as that.

Sounds like she's wrestling right back with this. If your family is in a good place right now, don't change anything. You can explain to her the cost of childcare, and how all the money she earns would just go right towards that and taxes; but it likely would be lost on her and it's not about that anyway. Maintain a calm and confident frame, and stress the importance of her SAHM status to the family at least until the kids are in elementary school (maybe leave that last part out, because she cou…

My girl is the same way, been together 5 years. She says she's never came from intercourse.

Would you ever suggest actually saying "Your attitude towards sex is shitty." ?

Your frame is rock solid, anyone reading this can tell how airtight it is. There are times I lean purple, but I can tell a guy like you could completely convert me. I'll be reading your stuff.

105 comments already but maybe someone will see this. What seems to have worked for me (in LTR's anyway) is to buy her drinks/movie tix/ etc. 1/3 of the time. It's enough for you to do the whole gender role thing, but uncommon enough for it to be a "special treat"

The key to maintaining power in the relationship is keeping that attitude. The best way to enjoy a relationship is to fall in love. Choose wisely.

An important thing you did right was praising her behavior and not her "being." Example: I'm so proud of you going to the gym vs. "You look great." Its subtle, but an important difference

Anger communicates to her that you have broken your frame. That was the realization that got me out of the anger phase. You're not going to make any progress until you have a IDGAF grin plastered on your face. I'm sure there's some more nuance to that, as I'm only 4 months into this journey, but it's a step in the right direction. Second tip: Before you give the "Fuck me or Fuck you" make sure you have damn close to a six pack. And also, I'd sell that truck of hers before the FMoFY as well (don'…

I wouldn't follow it up with ".... let me know if you want to hang out sometime". Just give her an "alright sounds good" and be on your way. Because if she comes back a-knockin', which she probably won't, then you can make sure it is in your frame and you'll have another shot. If you say "Let me know if you want to hang out" then you end up sounding needy.

I am currently reading the book, but what I can say is yes your second theory is the best one. You'll hear "fake it 'till you make it" in this community a lot. The reason is, with repetition, you'll rewire your brain and it will no longer be a facade.

Rewarding (orgasm) a behavior (sex) increases the behavior. This is basic psychology. Giving her an orgasm is a good thing, but you shouldn't be "worrying." I'm going to guess that maybe you aren't actually anxious about this, but I'd just remove the word "worry" from your frame regarding this.

I suppose you could try A&A something like "Yeah but I only communicate in Emojis over text" or "I planned on sending you the rough draft of my novel before hooking up"

BJJ is more injury prone than the other martial arts, but it's also the most useful for self defense (which you said is the least important) so I'm not sure that BJJ necessarily fits your criteria. Muay Thai and Kenpo Karate are striking focused. BJJ and Judo are grappling focused. Ideally you should find a place that offers both striking and grappling in their curriculum.

Somewhere around month 9 you are running into an elevation in shit tests. I'm at the end of month 1, myself. As soon as you feel very confident for dealing with shit tests, I'd love to hear your take on Shit tests as I find your writing more relatable than some of the more advanced guys around here (as enlightening as they are).

I am not married, so take that into consideration. However, I would suggest doing the ceremony but refusing to do the legal side of things (marriage certificate). Refuse to bring the law into the equation. This will protect you, and help to maintain dread throughout your marriage.

When it comes to the appropriate expression and experience of emotions, Buddhism and Stoicism offer similar advice. I appreciate your take on Stoicism.

I won't be asking you how to attack others, but rather some insight into how you come up with those A&A's (presumably on the spot). Is there any tips or things you could link me to - to get my A&A game better?
