There have also been innumerable articles in every major publication in the country with a headline of some variation on " ____ man first to die in ___ of covid-19". There is so much genuine and valid discourse to discuss in this forum and it just gets filled with ignorant posts that make everyone look bad.

Aside from the fact that that is irrelevant to my point, that is incorrect. Mature humans hold one another to a standard of factuality, truthfulness, and respect during conflict and conversation. I don’t think it’s productive to live your life under the assumption that all people behave the same way? Isn’t fighting that concept the whole point of this sub?

In an informative and non-confrontational way- believing something is true isn't a source. It's really important to keep in mind in forums like this, where people are trying for legitimate change and understanding, that posting content that potentially discredits the group is to the detriment of the whole movement.

This is a dilemma because both sides need to acknowledge the #notallmen #notallwomen concept in order for there to be peace but then in an effort to show how the other side isn't playing nice, we insinuate #allfeminists or all #mensrighters. It's a catch22.

With all due respect, there are many prison shows that show empathy and sympathy towards men in the prison system and the horrific abuse and mental health issues many of them suffer as well as difficulties reintegrating into society. Netflix's I am a Killer is a good example. I think, in general, people who are woke enough to understand our broken judicial system and prison industrial complex don't look at it from a gendered perspective.

Sources? Oddly, none of the sources linked in this article reflect this. I'm not saying I know differently or that this is incorrect- just that none of these studies linked reflect the message of this article and some are even in direct conflict with it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
