Perhaps to make it feel less awkward for you, you can try to ease into it slowly while building the tension instead of leaning in quickly. You can do this by continuing to talk, but slowing your speech and maintaining eye contact as you get close the space between you and her. (also see triangle gazing) She'll know what's up and may even start leaning in herself.

I don't really dwell on things that didn't go well in the night. I let those go pretty easily. What I do get hung up on sometimes is on the nights I do pretty well, but then realizing I could have closed if I had escalated a bit further or handled logistics better. I then just arrive back to the conclusion of "meh, had fun anyway".
