I went on a few dates with a guy i really liked a few years ago. Kind, great job, shy but funny, tall and cute. Things were going great, then one day he told me he was subscribing to a meal delivery service. I thought, "how cute! He's signing up for hello fresh to learn how to cook!" No. He was signing up for meal replacement shakes so he didn't have to cook, clean, or do dishes. I immediately noped out and told him things wouldn't work out. Wtf.

It's be l because she "doesn't want" him to anything in "her kitchen" i.e. he's so useless in the kitchen she can't risk letting him in to trash it all 🙄🙄🙄 and would rather convince herself that's how she likes it

Bumble is pretty anti-harassment, I'd check for a customer service number to see if you can get his information. Can you block people on LinkedIn?

No don't do that either. I have a 14 year old medium-sized parrot who is filthy, mean, loud, needy, and pulls out her own feathers. Every time I let her out of the cage she dive-bombs my dog. Get a budgie or cockatiel, but nothing bigger!! Learn from my mistakes, guys.

This! Yes there's an element of luck, but also hard work, persistence and dedication. You can't win the lottery if you don't buy a ticket, and the more tickets you buy, the more chances you have to win. Some people get lucky and meet a Hvm during their daily lives but most of us have to put in the time looking.

I think the most important thing that I did to help me get over this was to level myself up to a place where I LOVE me. Then I wouldn't accept the BS from men that my pickme family members would, and I wouldn't accept their unsolicited advice.

Look, it's clear that you're completely incited and have no interest in having a reasonable discussion that doesn't involve completely vilifying those of us in the hospital, so ✌️ out.

Wow. Ok, don't listen to someone who actually works in the field, and roll your eyes about everything I say. Do whatever you want, believe whatever you want. But I'm in here, in the hospital every damn day, saving babies who have nearly died being born. But sure, you know much better than I do how safe childbirth is.

Every unit I've worked in does have hand hygiene surveillance teams and has near perfect compliance. Maybe it's a NICU thing: https://scholar.google.com/scholar?start=10&q=hand+hygiene+compliance+rates&hl=en&as_sdt=0,11&as_vis=1#d=gs_qabs&u=%23p%3DXE_FdIJcYoEJ But trust, it's not overlooked anywhere. It's plastered all over every wall. ETA: the last NICU I worked in went over 6 months without a single central line infection. In extremely premature and immunocompromised infants. Through a multi-f…

Your study you linked is based on data from before 2009. That's around the time that there was a lot of Medicare/Medicaid and insurance billing reform, and in 2000 "to err is human" was published by the institute of medicine with the goal of reducing preventable errors. I'm the neonatal version of a midwife, i work in the ICU. They drill hand hygiene into all of use with signs all around the unit, in patient rooms, emails etc. I understand exquisitely that doctor's are humans and can make mistak…

Although I appreciate the sentiment of this post, i feel like the comments have gotten a little out of hand. I'm a provider working in primarily neonatology, but I've had experience with postpartum and obstetrics. Yes, the lithotomy position has become the standard for hospital childbirth even though it's not the ideal way to deliver, but I feel the need to point out that most OB/Gyn docs these days are women, and most of the interventions in the hospital are done in order to protect the baby an…

Where is your information coming from about doctors not washing their hands? Hospitals do hand hygiene surveillance to comply with government standards and every unit I've ever been in has near perfect compliance.

It's been two months and he hasn't asked you to be his girlfriend, hasn't gotten you a gift, wants to spend his birthday with his friends drinking and doesn't mind not seeing you... What HVM traits does he exhibit? You'd be amazed how quick a man knows when he wants you and how they know how to show it.

That if his idea of a good time is getting plastered with friends and that is not your idea of a good time, that is an incompatibility. To me, that would be a big red flag for binge alcohol drinking and immaturity. But to each their own.

I'm going to throw this out there... But if his idea of a great birthday is getting wasted with friends and that's something you're not into, that might indicate a real incompatibility to think about.

I've finally found a good one. Early on in our relationship, we went to Puerto Rico on a whim and whilst we were there, my grandmother died. I was miserable because my grandmother was my whole world. He was so supportive, did everything he could think of, including taking me to a local church, buying a candle for her and saying a prayer for her. He wasn't upset even a moment during the trip, even when I was handling phone calls all day the day prior to her death. He was so supportive and then ca…

So I had to think pretty hard to remember what we fought about! I think they mostly were tiffs about my diet. I have celiac disease so I can't eat gluten. He's mostly been fantastic about it, and eats mostly gluten free even in his own home. It's a huge pain in the ass to be gluten free. Yes!! Same for me! I need someone who matches my motivation and I want to be able to push each other to be better and better. But I know everyone is not the same as me, so to keep on with the green flag theme: someone whose goals, energy levels, and outlook lines up with yours!

Omg, you're so right. That lack of courage should've shown me that he didn't have confidence, self assurance, and the ability to communicate his wants in a healthy, balanced way. Which eventually grew into the whole issue of not communicating or having healthy boundaries. Red flag #1!

I met him through OLD! I'm in a very female dominated career and don't have many opportunities to meet men organically. So, I've been on and off of OLD for a long time. I was very, -very- picky about who I'd swipe on, who I'd respond to, who I'd converse with, and who I'd eventually meet up with. Any red flag during the online phase did get an immediate block. Historically, that's where it'd all fall apart, because once I had a few successful dates with someone, I'd get attached quickly and igno…

On Saturday, we went to a baby shower for one of my boyfriend's close friends. At one point, my boyfriend was chatting with some others and I with his close friend. The friend mentioned that my BF often tells him how happy he is and how wonderful I am. Completely unsolicited! Such a sweet detail to add to the list of ways he's an amazing BF. He also cooks, cleans, plans pretty much everything, packs me lunches, etc.

I appreciate your comment! He makes ~60k and has some investments. My dream ring would probably be between 10-15k, so not 30% but his initial budget of 5k is still way more than the national average (2-3k I think?). I can understand anybody's hesitance to drop 15k on an engagement ring, especially considering he's very strategic with his investments. But of course I don't want to drop 15k either, I'd also love to get a beautiful ring and hear it cost 5-6k! It's not really about the price tag, yo…

He has a very reasonable car (new but entry level Nissan that he got a great deal on) and home, and I can tell that he thinks really hard before throwing down a lot of money on things, which he does infrequently, and after saving up/negotiating. He keeps old stuff that is still in good working order and takes care of his things.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/03/20 02:51 AM

I don't think it's controlling for him to have an opinion. And yeah, having a 5k budget when I have a 10k budget is much lower, although his budget is not necessarily unreasonable. I'm sure him and I will talk about it more as the time gets closer but he's always been willing to compromise. I also think we should probably go and try on rings together in the future.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/03/20 12:59 PM

I think it's also important to figure out if this is simply your preference, or if you're not capable of letting go and being taken care of... Type A personality with the desire to be in control etc. If you haven't thought about this and then meet a HVM that genuinely wants to do nice things for you which you can't accept, it'll turn out poorly. I'm learning, for the first time, how to accept being taken care of. It's freaking delightful lol.

Maybe he wasn't HV if he expected you to do all the emotional labor of dating him? Even if he was, now you know that this is something you need from your future partner and wait until you meet the right person who will plan things with you.

Girl, he was already trying to manipulate you before he knew you. He's not viable, you don't want him. Block, move on.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy02/03/20 03:50 AM

If you're worrying about which response from you will be more painful and cause max damage, you're still thinking about him. Cut him off and cut off those emotions. He was manipulating you and you don't want that person anyways.

Your guy's sex problem sounds quite a bit like an ex I had where he could only masturbate one way (on a pillow 🤷) and he almost never came during sex. It took forever for him to admit it to me, too. It was something I would not do again, I found it very dissatisfying.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/03/20 09:58 PM
16

So he tries to get you to have sex with him on each date, then when you actually do, it's because you're not relationship material? None of this is on him?? What a double standard. You dodged a bullet. Don't waste any time feeling sad that you're not dating this trashperson.

My current BF is only a few inches taller than me (I'm 5'3", he's 5'7") but he is amazing in every single friggin' way. I'll be honest, I almost didn't go out with him because of his height, but I'm so glad I did. I've not dated a man <5'9 before, ever. And most have been 6'+. I know how hard it is to have your family ask you over and over when you will get married, but just politely and firmly tell them that you are looking for something very special and will wait until then. They don't need details. End the conversation there. As for the rest, you're so young with so much future ahead! Learn how to accept nothing less than what you want and deserve. The rest will come eventually 😊

I definitely don't agree about passing judgment on your swiping tactics... I was referring to your very first comment starting with "to be fair". The rest of her comment, well that's her opinion and I'm not in the business of judging anyone's swiping tactics! I agree with you that it's absolutely hard to find a HVM, at least where I'm at, and the endless drudge of meeting lame dudes over and over is absolutely soul crushing.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/02/20 08:25 PM

I think you might be misunderstanding her comment. "To be fair" is a way of saying that you are validating his point and thought process... His issue isn't what he thinks it is: that he's a HVM struggling to find a date; but rather that he's kind of a loser but thinks he's HV. His post doesn't need validation on the basis of our struggles as women looking for a man of high value, his post needs a whopping dose of reality.
