I only have large, loft and generally vague ones at the moment. My overall goal is to get better at social interactions. For better or worse, my actionable goals tend to be fairly short-term and ad hoc. I usually make them up on fairly short notice, usually just before or while in the field. They help me overcome resistance/anxiety. My approach is more about getting out there and making the most of whatever situation comes my way. Without specific goals I am more adaptable and have no outcome de…

I am working by myself in a town where I don't have any close friends. You know what I am going to do? Same thing I did last weekend. Head out by myself. Solo sarging is a great opportunity to push yourself. Don't rely on anyone or anything to help you. You don't need any crutches. Just go out there and be awesome.

Good job! This is the right way to look at rejections.

There is a great book called The Flinch by Julien Smith which also talks about this concept. In essence, you need to train yourself to push through the resistance you feel when you do something that makes you uncomfortable. That is where true growth occurs. If you feel comfortable too often it means you aren't pushing yourself hard enough.

1) Read the NEW HERE? section on the side bar. That is more than enough information to get you started. 2) Stop reading and go and put yourself out there. Begin with small goals. For example, aim to make eye contact with 5 people today and keep the eye contact until they break away. It's simple, easy, and an important building block to appear more confident. When aiming for behavioural change, the size of the goal is not important. All your mind cares about is whether you achieved your goal or n…

The feeling of confidence can be broken into parts, but it can't be explained to someone in an attempt to make them feel it. You can't learn emotion. This is true, but you can learn how to create situations where you feel confidence. That is exactly what a lot of the advice on this subreddit gives you - a framework to teach yourself confidence. Take the 'rejection challenge' and suddenly approaching women is no longer scary. Then you make a few openers and after a few, suddenly talking to women …

Haha, yeah, I sure have. There was a post on there recently about deliberate practice that inspired these thoughts. I think a lot of the philosophies on there gel really well with the inner game and self improvement aspects of seduction.

Mine was a case of lucky circumstances. I was traveling with a friend, we went out to a club. I met a girl and was getting along well with her. We made plans to go home together, but her friend didn't have anyone to go home with. I asked my friend if he was interested but he was already invested in another set. So her friend found a random to go home with, and we all went to an after party. The after party was boring and the other guy was a loser so we left without him back to her apartment. At …

I get the feeling that you were using excuses not to approach - girls not interesting, guy too drunk, etc. For the first few sets of a night, you shouldn't care if they are interesting, pretty or worth talking to. Your judgement could easily be wrong. The only way to find out is to talk to them. And if they turn out to be boring, then eject from the set. But at least then you will have some momentum. Whenever I head out solo I try to make conversation with anyone and everyone. After the first co…

I like this better. Always be closing implies some level of neediness. If you are always screening then there is no neediness, just prizing.

There is no better DHV than being a great conversationalist.

Obligatory username related joke. - Sorry, I would feel out of place if I didn't mention it - everyone else seems to! That is a good tactic - as others have said the main problem is the loss of social value if you appear to be working up courage to speak. Opening a random does the opposite - the longer you are in good conversation with the random, the more interesting you seem.

True. I have seen "death row" before and it is not pretty. I try to stay away from there :) I think part of the reason the approaches I described were successful is that the targets did not register my hesitation. While it was an internal battle, to the outside observer I don't feel I was projecting that desperate, low value vibe.

Good point. Any approach is better than nothing. Even if your chances of a good outcome are 1%, that is infinitely better than 0.
/r/seduction10/04/12 05:41 PM

Probably another case of overthinking on my part. Somehow I got the impression that your chances of success go down in a linear fashion the longer you wait.

Nice work! only 14 approaches? I would say that is a damn good effort for a first day - better than mine! Keep up the momentum. You will be rewarded.

It's funny. I was just thinking about the link beween stoicism and seduction the other day. I was going to write something similar to this, but now they have saved me the effort. Thanks for posting!

I can relate, I was in a similar place. I recently got out of a 7 year LTR. Felt like I was socially inept, introverted, lost my personality etc. Things ended fully about 6 weeks ago. I decided to skip the moping/grieving part and jump straight into reinventing myself. One month later and I feel like I am way more socially intelligent, extroverted (I actually energized by being with people!) and I have rediscovered who I am. The way I did it: 1) Read a handful of resources of seduction and picku…

I have tried the "Would you like to kiss me?" from MM, and it has worked for me. It is a no-lose situation. If she says yes, then obviously kiss. If she says maybe, say "let's see" and go in for the kiss. If she says no, just say "oh, you looked like you had something on your mind". I assume you have read the post on text game by cheddarchexmix? I haven't done a lot of text game, but applying the principles from the post above have worked fairly well for me.

Worst case scenario: She does lose interest. Big deal. There is still another 3.5 billion of them out there. Cultivate an aura of abundance. Edit: accidentally a word

Nicely done, sir! I recently did a fairly intense 2 weeks while on holiday. I am now back home, and finding it difficult to keep up momentum. It almost feels like starting again. Still, I have been out every day since I got back and have opened at least one set per day. With you as inspiration I will amp it up and go for at least 5 a day. Excellent work on the statistics as well. As they say, what gets measured gets managed.

Right. I think I get you now. What they possibly feel is a little bit of rejection - they were expecting escalation and you didn't give it, thus breaking rapport. I have never thought about it like that before.

I try not to frame it as disappointment. Like all interactions it is just a learning opportunity.

This one worked for me on a holiday in eastern Europe recently. It is also a good idea to have some activities that you would like to do, then invite them along. A lot of people who live in a city don't do some of the more touristy things, so it will be fun for them too.

I have missed a few windows as well. What surprises me is how quickly they can close - sometimes the moment only lasts seconds before it is gone. If you see that opportunity for sexual escalation, do not fuck around because it is difficult/impossible to recover from once missed.

Yeah I definitely think chaining a bunch of nights together is powerful for learning. It makes it easier to apply what you have learned from the night before.

Great analogy! Thanks for the words of encouragement. Now my holiday is over I have to transition this momentum back home.

I was pretty terrible at first. The numbers are important as learning opportunities but you need to be actively learning from each one. Simply spamming approaches will give you some successes but your conversion rates will be shit. In the second half of the 2 weeks, I approached many less girls and closed a much higher percentage of them.

This concept of "prizing" has been integral to my development. When you come into an interaction as a person of value and not a supplicant, people can see and instantly give you higher value. I treat every interaction I have as an opportunity to share value with someone. I tend not to qualify people very early. That is something I will play around with and test.

This is something I have come across as well. I am currently on holiday, leaving tomorrow. For one girl I met we got as far as making out, then she pulled back because I was leaving soon. On the other hand, another girl I was with seemed to just accept that I was leaving and was happy to enjoy the time we had. With the second girl I discussed the importance of living in the moment and how all relationships have different life spans. I talked about the importance of immersing yourself in the pres…

You are right. Social momentum is so important. I have been out 10 days in a row and I feel a massive level of confidence that I didn't have previously. That inner game really shows through.

I used routines for the first several days. Now I have relaxed a bit and I am mostly using situational openers and doing it a bit more organically. Both techniques seem effective. Now I mainly used canned stuff when I feel like the conversation is lagging or there is something specific I need to achieve.

Thanks for reading. I feel like writing this stuff down helps me to internalise it, and I like being able to share my experiences. I think you are right, there is a danger of resting on my laurels. I think tonight I will make a special effort to push my boundaries. You always make the most progress when you are just past the edge of comfort.

This is something I will be dealing with soon. I am about to work in a place where I have no friends, so I will be probably going out solo. I was planning on using a false time constraint like meeting friends etc. But I am also interested in the concept of simply owning the fact that you are out by yourself. I will definitely try it!

Seems like a good ASD disruptor - if sex happens, it's not because she planned it, it is just something that just kind of happened in the moment. Nice one!

Right on about the new reality. Some things I have done in the last few days (flip a coin to make girls compete who puts their number in my phone first) seem like I have a reality distortion field. The world I live in is vastly different to the one I was in 2 weeks ago.

I love this concept! I have been practicing this the last few days, and I feel like it has lifted my game in all kinds of interactions. Since trying to behave this way, everyone I meet seems to develop more and deeper rapport with me.

This is more or less what I said: me: "Hey, I quickly need your opinion for a minute. I was just talking to my friend Steve, and we need some female advice. He just broke up with his girlfriend. How long do you wait to see other people after you break up from a LTR?" them: blah blah blah me: "OK, but what if it is a really LTR, like 7 years. Does that change anything?" them: "no, its fine, you have to live your own life etc etc" me: " OK so you would be cool if your ex started seeing other peopl…

Thanks! I am sure that whatever happens tonight will be awesome. I have another week in this place and I am aiming for a 14 night crash course. Halfway there!

Definitely finish it! It was the first step forward for me and makes a great starting point. Some of the openers I tried: Jealous girlfriend opener from The Game Asking opinion on how soon someone can start seeing other people after a LTR breakup (this one obviously came from my own situation) - interestingly they all said I could go for it straight away which is helpful for me Asking opinion on my new haircut / stupid haircut I had for one night Asking to practice my new language skills / opini…
