Textile jobs were always filled by women. Check out pics of the mills from New England back before the Great Depression. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lowell_Mill_Girls Electronics are likely similar repetitive tasks, though of course 3d printing is gonna eliminate a bunch of low-wage jobs in Shenzhen within the next decade. And actually, other cities in China have already seen many of their new factory jobs go by the wayside. Dongguan, a pretty big industrial town near Guangzhao, is noted more f…

And start playing in public as fast as you can--open-mic nights, karaoke, whatever. Seriously, so what if you suck... everybody else is drunk.

Obamacare is a tax on single men. From now on, you're being forced to subsidize maternal care, free birth control, and IVF treatments, when all any member of this community under 40 needs is a catastrophic plan if you're hit by a bus (which should run $10 a month or so.)

Last HB9+ joke. Saturday, there's this bachelor party for a local guy. And then this bachelorette party. All the cool people in our arts town are going to be at one or the other of these events. I announced, before singing Goo Goo Dolls, that, y'know, it's 14 people in the limo for the dude fete, we're either marrying some dude off or having a Fellowship of the Ring. DJ laughs. HB9+ starts telling other people about her own party, 1 p.m. that same day. Which, fine, we can pre-game, but most of t…

A journey into the heart of "nah." So tonight, Tues., I went to the bar again. I was literally just gonna hang out, having updated my Internet shit for the week. But I eventually saw HB9+. Then it gets fun. She shows up, alone for a change, without her orbiters et al. Sits two stools away from me. I totally ignored her. Guy I was hanging with (un- or underemployed), waits a few minutes, makes his move. Two hours later (I'm singing a few karaoke songs in the meanwhile), she puts away her second M…

Met a divorcee, 25, fit 7, at karaoke bar Friday. Still in shape, has a degree and a job. Snagged her effortlessly away from two beta orbiters. Got her number, K-close, then got her real number. Called once Sunday, left message. Her move. Saturday was really dead because of weather, but found she was asking about me after I'd split the bar early (had done extra shots with some friends, so didn't want any more to drink; left an hour before last call rather than risk embarrassing myself.)

I'd put in for NCIS. Gibbs is alpha as fuck and, at least in the early seasons, Dinozzo (sp) had serious game. Beyond that, old movies on TCM, especially the crime/noir stuff. I mean, Maltese Falcon or the Big Sleep with Bogart were outstanding, and the way Bogart banters with Bacall was extraordinary. That said, I trace the downfall of Western Civ. to the day circa 1970 when they decided Elliott Freaking Gould was gonna play Marlowe in The Long Goodbye (and then changed the ending so that Marlo…

Since field reports are coming out on Monday in a mega-post, maybe we should have beta Fridays to remind ourselves of the fuck-ups we all (most all) used to be.

I was actually like Mitchell78 until November (the bar I'm talking about has $9 Guinness and Jameson, $15 anywhere else, if it was a trivia place I'd be nationally ranked), but you'd be amazed. It's also getting huge in the cities. At least Brooklyn. Though to get laid you're better off learning Swing or Salsa dancing (or guitar.)

I was like this my first year of college, very shy unless I was drinking. I became a volunteer campus guide for a while, showing prospective students around campus, just so I could introduce myself to people and talk about something. It... worked though my roommate at the time thought me more of a douche bag than usual.

This karaoke bar i hang out at is right next to an old-style casino that offers Swing Dancing every Wed. There are an amazing number of really hot girls who go through there but only have eyes for dance partners. Dudes in their 40s or older; chicks are in their 20s, except for a couple who "forgot their iD" a few weeks ago. AMOG is a younger Vietnamese dude who doesn't even have a car. I asked one of the male dancers about it. He's like, oh yeah, dancing beats singing, but "sticks of wood"--guit…

I've actually found discussing a particular woman's SMV to be an effective neg, if done firmly. Chick standing next to me, pointing to an attractive blonde, "what do you know about her?" "Not sure of her name. She's been dating Andy for some time. I think they may be living together, but she goes back to college in the fall. She was studying math or business. Seems smart enough." "What do you know about me?" "You're a single Mom." "Touche." Then she walks off, explains her newly-found qualificat…

Thanks. Yeah, even if they don't have facilities, a lot of hotels elsewhere'll give you a pass to Gold's or Planet Fitness, but NY, you're really heading way the hell out to Queens or even Long Island for a gym. Europe's even worse. Certainly a lot of parks by the rivers; I'll look into rings.

I'm 41, 6'1", 195 currently. I lift twice a week, for as long as I can, doing things I was taught 20 years ago in a college course (incline bench 255; rack everything else). I also bike 2-3 times week, averaging 10 miles. It's enough for me, and I do have to watch myself quite carefully when I lift 'cuz old. My question is about travel. Come October, I'm on the road for my business for several weeks. Diet's just gonna go to shit (networking is vitally important, and by networking, I mean going t…

Majored in English Lit* with a minor in Econ. Also had enough classes to do a women's studies minor if I'd wanted to. Became an IT person after teaching ESL for a while. Now self-employed (Internet biz) and living on the Third Coast. *At one time, studying literature was a worthwhile goal, and several of my classmates (all female) also ended up working as things like DBAs owing to certain skills they made you pick up (close reading, structuralism, etc.) that translated fairly well into the tech …

Based on what I've seen elsewhere (Gawker; their comments are bluepill/white knight): dude had been working 60 hours that week. Saturday he was taking care of some needed auto maintenance/other household chores. She also needed to do some of that, but couldn't operate her vehicle, as it has an interlock since her DUI, there's vodka or something in that cup, and her imperative said they were going to the lake, period. Anyway, she'd been texting/facebooking her family about what an awful, awful ma…

It used to be 7-8 years from animal testing to phase III approvals (if a drug makes it through phase III, FDA should let it be available). But these days it's more like 10-12, if ever for a new drug to hit the market.

Dude, make the time for it now. When you get older, forcing your lazy ass to the gym (and avoiding injury) will be much tougher, but at least you can benefit from habits picked up in your 20s.

Your situation reminds me a bit of my cousin. She's a lawyer, but went to a Catholic school; very religious upbringing. I have no idea her sexual history but suspect it was almost nil. Anyway, she got swept off her feet by a guy with a dark past (the bad boy.) They're kinda ostracized by her family, but she married him; they have several kids; he's a construction worker so it's hit or miss as far as what he can bring home, but he seems loyal. I don't know if it'll last long term or not, but she'…

As an older (40) red-pill newbie, I highly recommend going nofap. You can fuck like you're in your 20s again (ejaculating twice inside of a half-hour, consistent raging erections, etc.). It's easier said than done, of course.

Not always. Her needs during sex are more emotional than just physical. I had this one chick I could bring off every way imaginable (hand, mouth, just pushing the tip in, banging her full force, anal), and I really enjoyed satisfying her, but she really wanted to be choked and dominated, which I wasn't that comfortable with at the time. She beta-ized me quick. It's not that I'm a weakling, I'm 6', 200, straight bench twice my body weight, do the rack on military press (220), but I was taught tha…

Good line. Fortunately my dog hated that twat. For conversation, I've been having some luck with grad students... especially ones who are studying things outside my field. But I used to live in DC, so I'm used to being surrounded by people you don't talk to about certain things. I enjoy all kinds of crap in addition to the finer things. Last week I had everybody at this bar fixated on the re-airing of Sharknado. This one chick (a 6 at best), looked upon me with awe when I counted down precisely …

Dude, you're taking them too seriously. Don't hate on younger chicks for being what they are. If you can laugh off their shit with wry indifference, you'll soon develop a photo collection it might one day amuse you to let your ex see. Back to post-wall, yeah, they're desperate to get in bed, but they're even more desperate for a beta provider. Pre-RP, I had one show up at my place w/ her cat on our second date. Umm... Wut? Use 'em and toss 'em like you would any single mom.

Sure it would. Those in government (say, FDA or EPA), want to regulate an industry so they can control it. They pay researchers a grant to "study" the matter, be it dangerous e-cigarettes or climate change. Researcher, who doesn't make that much in salary, achieves the proper results. Media dutifully reports on it, never raising much of a jaundiced eye 'cuz, well, you never know how long the newspaper biz is gonna last, and it's good to have friends who can guide you into a tenured position. The…

I know just what you mean. I've been warily hanging/flirting with a young HB9, and succeeding, but keeping it casual; mostly 'cuz if I bluepill myself it'll be expensive and she chews her dudes up. Fortunately, I'm suddenly spinning plates--necked with a 7 at the bar (but she has a master's and a twin sister with whom I've simulated sex acts on the dance floor); agreed to seal the deal with a post-wall hardbody before she splits town; last night was chatting up this early '30s 8, southern femini…

I follow a couple of baseball players on twitter. Brandon McCarthy (who has a very alpha relationship with his wife), was among those who, shall we say, weren't too shocked by this development.

So much this. I was singing karaoke at this bar in FL when 200 of the University of Kentucky's hottest co-eds showed up for Spring Break. So every song after, I introduced myself with "Duke sucks." I'm a 40-year-old recently divorced techie. They were jumping all over me.

I think I'd qualify as a sigma. Have own business (Internet), live in a sweet pad on the water, rescued an adorable little dog, am a muscular 6' 200, but I tend to meet women by singing karaoke. It can really help to have one place, outside of work, where you have alliances. I'll give you an example, I often serenade chicks with "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon," my voice matching Urge Overkill exactly. Most places, you do that, you get seriously angry stares from every guy in the joint (women, it'…

My all time favorite quote is from Soldier's Home. Guy just back from WWI. He saw some of the harshest action ever to take place. Pretty much guaranteed PTSD. His Mom's going on and on, belittling him, "I know about you men, blah" at breakfast. “Krebs looked at the bacon fat hardening on his plate.”
