Development and prosperity breed change. Once you don't have to worry about not dying every day and being able to eat whenever you want, you can start worrying about other things.

Feminism is also partially the result of demographic changes that influence division of labor. Women's education, rural lifestyle to urban lifestyle, smaller families, etc etc. Those things tend to lead to women having more opportunities outside of the household. I don't even think that's a bad thing. My issue with feminism isn't that it exists as an option, its that a lot of feminists aren't willing to deal with the consequences of the option they took.

Just look at the feminist movement in the USA. Its by and large dominated by college educated upper middle class white women. The ideals don't really exist in lower classes because you don't grow up with a sense of entitlement.

They attract populations that supports big-government spending on feminist-friendly industries, such as government, non-profits, and so on.

The women who are hooked up with men in these cities, where affluence congregates among the Creative Class in what Charles Murray called SuperZips, are hypergamous to their core and will not hesitate to use the power of government and bureaucracy to achieve their utopian vision. Sort of like how almost every woman in your local university's graduate school for "Mrs. Degrees" in TOEFL, Creative Writing, and other useless shit date computer programmers, engineers, etc., (read: men who make good coin)—it's all very transparent.

I think the undercurrent of feminism in affluent societies emerges from their university systems where the humanities departments are firmly within the grasp of post modernist (anti-reason) philosophy. These departments spread the idea that objective truth is inaccessible to men, so that all perspectives are on equal footing. To speak in broad strokes, post modernist philosophers have at various times attacked the validity of science, the validity of science in the social sphere specifically, the validity of reason, gender, capitalism, private property, masculinity, and the idea that people have different values.

These ideas are popular with modern intellectuals because they enable second rate thinkers to acquire the titles and accolades of their betters, while also providing arguments as to why modern intellectuals should be awarded ~~booty~~ research money from the government. These ideas are further popularized by politicians and other figureheads who like having weaselly arguments for getting out of responsibility. Not that post modernist arguments are arguments by the standards of mathematicians or legitimate philosophers.

It is my supposition that since affluent countries have greater participation in higher learning, far more people are directly and indirectly influenced by anti-reason philosophy. As further evidence, consider how many feminists you've personally met who're also socialist leaning.

It's not about wealth.It's about safety. Feminism flourishes wherever women are allowed to forget that the world is a dangerous place. Where women need strong men to protect them, they don't emasculate their protectors; when they no longer need men's protection, they immediately seek to protect themselves FROM men.

The safety motive is one of the most powerful and primitive parts of the female brain. This is important. Understand this and much of female behavior becomes clear.

There is an interesting thing I have noticed about humans. When they grow up in a safe environment, free from terrors such as war and famine, they assume the entire world is just like the world in which they live. It isnt. They live in a naive sheltered bubble far from anything dangerous, and thus have no concept of what a life outside the bubble entails.

Apparently people need strife, they need something to struggle against so they can feel as though they matter, they need to justify their self worth.

This shows up in people all the time, not just women, but yeah women are quite vocal and get heated about things they want to struggle against. They see themselves as crusaders against tyranny when in reality they are merely bitching about something of which they have zero comprehension.

The one poignant example of this is Joan Biaz back in the 60s saying that if Russia invaded the US, she would "meet them at the beach with tea." Ok, if they didnt kill her, she would surely be raped (and not just once, but probably until she dies) because that is what invading armies do. One only needs to look at WWII or Kuwait in 1990 to see what happens when someone takes over your country.

Since most women in the US, and especially in the affluent areas, have no life or death strife in their lives, they make shit up to fill the void. They see men as the oppressors, not the protectors, or if they see men as protectors they ask what they need to be protected from. When you have no idea what horrors lie outside your bubble, you cant grasp the idea that you are being protected, and thus they start to resent men.

Economic prosperity has always led to feminism because they can afford the socialism. Women get bored and when they get bored they lash out like children. John Glubb talks about this a bit in his essay The Fate of Empires.

When you live in an economically prosperous country you have much more freedom to pick whatever line of work you want. Well, that means that women pick the line of work they want (unproductive caretaker work) and then they wonder why they get payed less then the men and start to complain.

If your country is an economical shithole you must get the kind of job that actually pays money (productive work). Then you do not see the differences as clearly and you are too tired from working to complain anyway.

Feminism is a past-time of privileged people, look at Maslow's hierarchy of needs, active feminism fulfills many of the needs at the top, which is why poor women who actually need help and are actually oppressed will rarely be feminists, they're too busy surviving.

Why Modern Feminism is White Woman's Privilege

Feminism began as a movement built by affluent western white women (most of whom were firmly restricted to domestic life) in order to challenge the notion that a woman’s place was in the home and nowhere else. It sought to show that women could be successful outside the home as professionals and thinkers, while also making the case that women could and should have an equal say in matters that go on outside their kitchens (e.g., the right to vote).

The thing is that these problems are, for the most part, white ones, specifically white western ones. Whereas western white women fought during the first and second waves of feminism to carve out roles outside the home, black, Native American, and even many Asian women have held such roles within their respective societies for centuries.

It almost makes me want to start a semi-farcical blog called "White People Ruin Everything".

Actually... I would say that feminism is a result of lack of religion. When you look at the ones you say have lower proportion of feminists, what is in common with all of those? They are all religious areas whether it's Christianity or Islam.

Religious Women dont need Feminism because they'll likely have hooked a good man by the time they hit the wall and if they dont their mothers and grandmothers will certainly nudge them to do so.

The more affluent you are, the more time you have to dedicate towards the top end of the pyramid. Hell, if you are bored and rich, you can devote all your time to the top of the pyramid.
