I’m sorry you feel bad. Your actions were totally normal and despite being tipsy, you still didn’t contact him!! That’s amazing and you did really well. A lot better than most of us ever have. Closure is a bit of a lie, it’s about wanting the other person to recognise how terrible they were to you, for them to really be sorry… but even if he said the words, he wouldn’t mean them. You keep kicking ass!

I liked that they asked instead of assuming that they knew everything just because they were men/engineers. Lots of men won’t ever admit to not knowing something. Also, like the other poster said, yeah she could have been stuck up there for months. They’re planning on the worst case scenarios and (correct me if I’m wrong) there’s not a lot of studies about how periods happen in space. I’m all for pointing out stupid stuff men do and assume but I’m a fan of these engineers for caring enough to as…

I disagree. We already know that beautiful men can be dangerous (ted bundy) and in terms of social psychology, it encourages more of them to take action. This sub is just for women but anyone (including incels) can see it.

I don’t agree that we should post any of their photos or names. They don’t deserve even the slightest of recognition in any form.

My understanding is that FDS doesn’t support sex work in any form. Personally, I would still like to see the site shut down permanently.

Carbohydrates begin being digested in the mouth and there’s lots of blood vessels under your tongue, so some of the meds are getting into bloodstream. Sadly probably not enough to really make a huge difference.

I love the idea of that but shaming a person has severely backfired for me before. To the point that even years later that person was harassing me, creating different accounts etc. I prefer to think of it as not wasting my time and energy. I don’t care what they think or feel so why would I bother chewing them out? I’m actually doing the next woman a disservice because the guy will hide his true self next time. Lvl never change, even when faced with shame.

Plus, 2 years and no proposal? Another flag. But it's super easy for me to say that being so far removed. It's hard to see everything clearly when you're in love.

Absolutely. I have everything turned off and I hide my karma until I can stop being pickme about imaginary points.

Positive reinforcement is an excellent way to shape behaviour. You’re doing very well!

I would say lv because of how long he was with diane without getting married.

Don’t bother explaining any of the details; they don’t make any difference at all. We’re not about deciphering the nuances of abusive relationships. If you feel bad and mistreated, you leave. Your illnesses make you vulnerable yes, but not unable to recognise bad behaviour. You know his behaviour is unacceptable. Leave. I’m honestly not sure if I should even be responding because you won’t leave if you’re still questioning the interactions.

Especially because they’ll think that they’ve got you ‘locked in’ and might let themselves relax and show you their bad habits (although not a guarantee of course)

Does anyone have any tips or guides for improving posture and dealing with the fatigue that comes with that? I get so sore after even 10 minutes of proper posture!

Or lying by omission. I shouldn’t have to ask you 10 million questions of possible scenarios to find something out!!

You don’t even need to ‘justify’ or have reasons for breaking up with him. Simply wanting to break up is a perfectly sound reason in itself! It does sound like a great decision. I’ve heard some people wanting to take up all your time is an isolation technique that leads to abuse.

I like to imagine it’s the old days where I had no money and each text would cost a $. Is this message with a response? Do I have something to say that’s worth % of my income.

I struggle with if I can’t see it, it doesn’t exist haha. I organise by having everything laid out so I literally reach in and grab it. If it’s in a pile and I have to dig, it won’t stay organised. It takes up a lot of room but it’s neater than piling up. Just what works for me!

The sad thing is that women these days wouldn’t even be giving everything up for marriage but now also ‘situationships /gf status’.

Yep, all the men on there that I knew, I knew were absolute NV. Still technically married, dead beat dads, no education or drive, massive cheaters, etc.

So you’re living with your bf but not engaged or married? I would prefer to try that but I’ve seen it frowned upon on here. I’d love to hear your reasons for that.

Me too! I’ve also noticed there’s a sense of connection and understanding when you pass other solo women hikers. It’s just a little nod or smile sometimes but definitely a feeling of, ‘isn’t this great being able to do this alone?’.

I’m so proud of her for speaking up and telling her story. Abusers count on shame trying to keep it quiet.

I have an extension that hides karma and it’s wonderful. My inner PM still wanted to do well with imaginary points?? So stupid.

I feel like Ryan Murphy tries to be inclusive and champion women but secretly hates women and reduces them to the worst stereotypes. Kind of like Joss Whedon.

The first step in changing is admitting you have a problem. But seriously, nearly everyone here has been exactly where you are. The good news is that you're aware of it now and hopefully won't waste anymore of your precious time with any losers! I'm so sorry you have to feel how shitty realising the truth is but I'm also so happy for you because of much better your life will be now.

God, my lv ex would say that he never lied, he was so proud and smug about it, but all he ever did was lie by omission or a work around. Kind of like how the devil grants you your wish but it turns out terribly (monkey paw i think they call it). I finally caught him out that was messaging an ex and was still in love with her. I never specifically asked him about it so of course I was the one in the wrong and he was a saint that didn’t lie 😤

Yep, had a 40 year old carpenter try to date me when he found out I was in med school despite ignoring me before he knew. He honestly believed that he could retire and be a house husband while I supported us both. He was so vain but I guess reality, and gravity, caught up with him.

I absolutely agree and I never would (now). I shake my head when I thought of all the stupid, dangerous stuff I did. I’m even apprehensive about calling roadside assistance because I’ll probably get a man. Someone needs to start an woman only tow truck and roadside assistance company stat.

I had never realised that men never ask for help until it was pointed out here one day. I’ve had plenty of offers of help (looking lost, broken down, etc) but they never asked for * help. Such an eye opener and as a tiny, non-threatening looking woman, I would have assumed *that’s why they would have asked for help....not that they would have ulterior motives. It’s definitely something I’ll remember in the future now and be more cautious about.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
