Second that. Have always been fascinated by the character when I was watching the movies as a young adult.

To add: „I’m easy going and chill” “I mean, yeah of course I’m watching porn. I’m a guy!” [stonewalls you after a fight] [activates traumabonding] [starres at younger women] “Wyd?” “I prefer completely shaved women” “It’s not you it’s me” “I’m not ready yet” Edit: a Bot wanted to remove this post because I sound like a male. Haha, must have been very close to reality then. Lol.

Hahaha. I’m an expat as well. European in the Pacifics. And I’ve heard so much of that crap too just for my country. It’s mind blowing that cooking and wanting to have a visa via partnership is desirable for female expats.

The word you might be after is LIMERANCE. It will leave you feeling empty and alone. Even on a fictional character.

Another expression for “simple man” is: “I’m easy going”. Run. Grab your legs and run, darl.

Male, 48, 420 is my secret belief and income (although illegal where I live). But hey, without a real job, I have more time to work on my abs and hang out at the beach to have things under control there. I’m a passionate hypocritical about everything that doesn’t benefit me and do only what is good for me. Except talking about feelings, I don’t do that. When I’m upset, I won’t communicate but rather start a fight and put the blame on you to have an excuse to walk/drive/cycle/surf away from you. …

I once had a bf and he told me to which Facebook photos of mine he would have wanked off to, before we were dating. I was shocked. They were btw normal photos. Normal. And on some photos there were other guys on it. His comment: I just save the photo and cut others out. Like wtf? I’m now careful what I upload.

Yes, taken back two exes. Ugh! Learnings: - I wish I’d left sooner. - they did not change. They manipulated better. - I found myself hurting more once broken up again. I assume because of the added trauma bonding and push and pull - I find no contact helps tremendously to stay course. Once broken up, stay broken up. - review friendships after break up. Common friends might be hard to deal with

Love it! Well said. On the same note, white woman here, I spend $200 for colour and hair cut, roughly every second month. I started using moon cup and after getting used to it, I can’t imagine ever going back to tampons. Maybe something for you to look into? My cramps are weirdly less using the moon cup. Can you just imagine living in a reversed world, where women need to have short hair and men need to have long beautiful hair? Every day women can wear sort of the same but men, oh no no, they m…

I am not willing to “spoil” my partner financially when my time is not compensated for the same work equally. Also, I am paying pink tax. AND have to cater for (more) cosmetic products/make-up, clothes, and quiet frankly wanting to cook healthier costs money too. Education costs money. The expectation towards a women how to dress and look affects the budget massively. If I work in a corporate world I have a dress code to follow. Congratulations Queen! Well done, and well deserved. I love the “go where you’re celebrated”. I have been in your spot probably four years ago and remember the feeling. One of my core wounds I have not worked through enough combined with simply not knowing about abusive relationships brought me unfortunately into one. And he is coming back, because he felt cozy in the nest you made him. Indeed, he told you you were complaining and nagging, he left you on read, he physically left you on the spot, he ignored you, his things were a priority not your well-being, he kind of put effort into it, but not really. No one changes deep patterns in a short period of time. Choose wisely IF you want to take him back regardless of who broke up. If you take him back, you’ll see that in 6 months down the road latest if not bef…

Put that ranking in a box and throw it in the ocean. Their standards don’t matter. Their rankings don’t matter. It’s yet another degrading way of the patriarchal world to undermine a women’s self worth by judging her appearance. Never forget: beauty fades but dumb stays forever.

I changed my car battery, one light bulb and prepped my suv for camping. Yuss! Never fixed that sort of stuff by myself! I’ll get my bike fixed this week (taking care of my assets) to go on a three-day mtb cross country adventure on my own in a National park as my birthday gift next month (super scared but so excited). Story time: I was once dating an abusive man. I lived on my own. When I moved to a new house my friends helped me packing things. My abusive ex was there too and dropped his usual comments. I’ve heard them so many times, and didn’t think anything of them, so shattered and belittled and abused was I already. And I allowed these comments without consequences. The relationship lasted for another week after the move and I finally freed myself from this abuse. One of my friends who helped me moving, …

First of all, you’re not alone in this. I feel sorry to hear where you are, I hug you! You’ve done amazing already to spot and kinda define your trauma. Well done! That’s the very first step. I’m proud of you. What I’ve ready in your post was: the trauma makes me anxious, the trauma makes me xyz. The trauma does not define you. You are not the trauma(noticed how I didn’t say YOUR trauma). Alain de Botton on Love is a great video on YouTube that I encourage you to watch. I hear you on “not wanting to falling in love” anymore after educating yourself about the concept of LVMs. I full heartily believe in love but not in romantic love as described and dictated by our patriarchy society. I believe in feeling love for my family, my friends, my pet, even for my partner, feeing love for myself but it’s a different love than codependent, suffering (aka romantic) love. LVMs or LVWs are a w…

I was binge watching friends the other day and ugh, as much as I love the show, I couldn’t stand some patriarchy crap anymore in this show. Same with Ally McBeal and New Girl. I experienced exactly the same on bike rides. As I pointed his behaviour out, I said clearly he is more than welcome to go in his own preferred pace but not with me. I am slower and if his “enjoyment” is more important than my company, he can do it on his own or with someone else. And that’s fine with me. Don’t ask me though to join. Also, I won’t ask for shitty company either. Same goes btw for friends too. You meet to do an activity together, team up and set the pace to the weakest and slowest…

And it keeps swinging - periodically, back and forth, and back and forth and way too late you realise it’s a repetitive pattern of the same ol‘ push and pull. You can’t stop watching, you can’t disengage, you know it will swing - thank god - from the right to the left. You observe. The ticking sound drives you mad. Why can’t I let go? The ticking sound becomes noise. You cry a lot. It keeps swinging. You decide to close your eyes. You still hear it ticking. You open your eyes. You see the pedal.…

I listened to a Podcast the other day and Terry Real talked about patriarchy in relationships. His point: women reach the point in a relationship where they just had enough. And this is usually the critical point where a man either wakes up and breaks the cycle of ingrained patriarchy learned over generations (hard work on themselves) or they keep on living in their comfort patriarchy bubble and go for the next women. Interesting podcast. But man, does that make me leave hopeless for many men.

Another red flag: When he promises to change for you. This is not working on a relationship, this is short term adjusting. The motivation to change needs to come from within a person and change takes time, practise, effort. He is going to change for you? He sure will change back to the old one BECAUSE of you.

I’ve read somewhere that the idea of wedding rings stems back from the old days. If something is happening to the husband and he is getting killed, the wedding ring(s) can be exchanged for its value aka are getting sold. This will help the widow to survive the time until she is getting remarried. Not sure if true. In this case she could definitely get three take aways for it.

Confident yes, arrogant or hostile is a deal breaker. Arrogance and hostility are rooted in insecurity. I believe a gym for women is specifically made for not feeling insecure as of getting judged. Maybe this is where my English falls flat, but I expect from a gym for women that there is no attitude of hostility towards other women in order to get the attention of a man - there are no men around them anyway in a women’s gym.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/20 10:37 PM

I was going to one back in the days in Europe. It was okayish to be honest. After a while it turned from a women are going to the gym comfortably into a nightmare of instagram chicks. No offence against the appearance but the behaviour of some young women turned me off. Too much off a “I’m the hottest chick”-attitude. What a shame though. I enjoyed the real authentic ladies in the beginning. Doesn’t mean every ladies gym will be like that.

What makes me laugh, every time I see a similar graph to this one, is the fact that LVM never (!) put themselves into the equation. A man defines “crazy” behaviour often as a woman setting boundaries or unfortunately reactions to the hurtful crap men come along with. The crazy axis can be seen as setting healthy boundaries, not putting up with LVMs BS anymore. Mathematically speaking: where is their starting point on the y-axis to judge a woman? I propose that the more LVM traits a man has the h…

Experienced the same. Some men tend to get hostile. I find it quiet hard to work with married man who hit on you and after being reminded about their wive or GF, the work relationship turns into custard. It worked for me to stay professional in the workplace and stay on topic. Talking about work related topics only for some months. Keeping private topics to a bare minimum.

I had random man explaining me how I was supposed to use the brakes leavers on my mtb while I just came down a track and had a rest. I didn’t even ask. I simply had a rest. Didn’t tell him that I bleeded my brakes earlier, installed the leavers in a way (after a year of trying) that they work great and that I actually was not even remotely interested in him mansplaining it to me.

So very, very true. Be honest with yourself. When you have a gut feeling something is off, it is off. Don’t craft excuses in your head for his lack of effort in seeing you. He doesn’t make the effort to see you = he doesn’t want to/you’re too easy to play/you’re not worth it in his eyes.

I admire their decisiveness and kind way of running a country. Kudos to all of them! It’s hard to make your way up in a male dominated political world. Angela Merkel (phd in physics) and Jacinda Arden (pregnant while running for prime minister elections at 37) have incredible back ground stories.
