Attraction should absolutely grow as you get to know someone. But it's still a huge piece of the puzzle, and a piece that requires at least *something* to start from.

Most women want someone they vibe with. That is a balance of attraction, similar values (aka stable with a job, wants kids), and friendship. I've met a lot of guys who are beautiful and awesome, but we don't share similar values, or people who are great on paper but we are awkward when together. This is someone you're spending your life with - you should be picky about it.

I've hit it off with guys at several events through work and while networking. Again the conversation doesn't start out about being hit on, it's just genuine conversation that leads to interest.

As a woman, here's a list of places I've met dudes who I've responded positively to being hit on: - friends of friends at social events - meetup events - big gatherings/festivals - work/networking events - a casual day hanging by myself at a busy river tubing spot - hot springs - rock climbing...many times out rock climbing. The thing is...you can't just say "hey cutie wanna fuck?" and get mad that they don't. It's about just shooting the shit with them and genuinely enjoying their company. At l…

The only part I find potentially problematic is the small talk part, particularly in relation to school/work. If you have a group project in school, and you do small talk with the guys while ignore the girls on the project, that will feel super awkward and could really come across as passive aggressive and therefore sexist, even if that isn't your intent. Same with work, particularly again in group situations like lunch time or pre-meeting/post-meeting conversations. Small talk doesn't need to b…

According to most studies, couples tend to be 4-6" difference, with men being the taller one. The average height for US women is 5'4", average for US men is 5'9", so that tracks. Not sure for all countries. Anecdotally, most women I know don't care about a particular height at all, but they do prefer a man be the same height or taller. I personally have never dated shorter than me, but I have dated the same height as me (5'4"); I also haven't met a guy shorter than me to have any experience or t…

Everyone has different goals for their life and their relationship. It isn't usually as black and white as "trad wide/husband" vs "modern relationship" or whatever. I purposely searched for someone who wanted to be a stay at home dad and prioritize taking care of me and my family. But we don't consider it just a reversal of roles. He is still a provider - he provides our family with what it needs based on what his skill set best brings to the table. I'm also a provider doing the same. The concep…

This is just an Internet thing. Most people in real life are going to continue to do what works for them, and for most people, that's at least one or more of the "4B"s. As far as using sex and all this to protest or somehow control men...I think the general idea is really stupid and shortsighted, and likely only hurting the protester themselves. Not just having sex with anybody is smart, not dating or marrying in protest is just gonna make you older and harder to get that in the future if that's…

So I guess technically murder is defined as "the unlawful killing of another human being". So to "murder" would include the law, which is different in different places. I'm some places it's 6 weeks, in some it's after birth. I would personally advocate for this to be the line where it should be considered unlawful and therefore murder. But just like taking someone off life support is not considered murder, I don't think it should count as murder before this time as I believe in bodily autonomy a…

I am curious since your statement can be read both ways (and maybe you mean both ways!), but do you mean complement or compliment? I can see benefit in both being something that balances or enhances his life/skill set (as in complement), or being praising and uplifting of his life/skill set (aka compliment). Since you used compliment, I assume that's what you mean, but I definitely can see the benefits of being a complement to your partner as well (and for me and my partner, that is definitely t…

I think people bring up good points in general as to why people plan to have kids later. There are a lot of reasons why people want to have kids in their 20s, but didn't. I had the man and the plan...I wanted to start our family at 28. He changed his mind. I didn't find another man until 31, we are getting married this year at 33, and immediately trying for kids. It isn't my ideal situation, but it's what I got dealt. In fact, a lot of my friends wanted to be settled with kids around their late …

To me, providing doesn't simply mean financially. For our family, my man provides: - strength - protection - duty - commitment - our family values - the knowledge and dedication to fix any problem - patience - love - generosity/selflessness I am the breadwinner, he is the homemaker. Yet we still carry out a traditional roles otherwise. I know that sounds backwards, but at least in this modern age, working seems to be geared toward women's strengths (my man can't sit still at a desk all day), and…

Depends on who you're dating. I've never once had a man pay for the first date, even their half. Different women want different things. If you are interested in the type of women that want you to pay for the first date, then that's what you're going to have to deal with and decide if that's important to you.

If he's a coworker like it sounds, you could suggest a happy hour with all of your coworkers rather than just him and you. (I say this because holidays only last so long and he'd likely start asking again in the new year otherwise). But I agree, I see no reason to hang out with him one on one, especially since he's texting at 1am knowing you have a partner already.

His job as captain includes delegation of tasks as he feels best works for the family. It sounds like from a cultural perspective, he feels it is best that you take on this duty for the family. If it is within your skillset to do so, I don't see any reason why you should decline his request. I tend to have high expectations for my birthday, so I plan it myself. I think it's really hard in this day and age to really understand what will make someone truly feel special on their birthday, and it's …

It can take up to 18 months for women to feel pleasure from sex after birth. Hormones suck. I think a lot of the suggestions already here are great - take things off her plate (either you or hired help), get her loving her body again, and make sure she has space to be her own person rather than just a mom again. Some others: - if she is breastfeeding, suggest starting to ween (breastfeeding prolong these hormones that say "not ready for another kid yet") - talk to her and ask her what is holding…

Neither, and/or both? I marry for partnership. That includes love in the sense that we are both committed to the partnership for life, regardless of how our hormones are making us feel at the moment. It also includes a shared sense of financial responsibility, in that we are both working toward making sure we are stable, our kids have a future, and our retirement will be worry-free.

I pay for everything, he does the cooking, I do the cleaning, he does the repair stuff, I do the planning, he does the shopping...it's generally a mixed bag based on what we like and are good at. As far as being pretty trad, I prefer him to initiate sex, but I initiate sometimes as well, especially with non-nighttime/non-standard times. Remember that you both are on the same team here! You both want you to look, feel, and be healthy. And you both know that the current state doesn't provide that. (I don't know if the 10lb you want to lose is necessary because you're overweight or because you know that weight makes you feel the best, but I'm going to assume that you're not setting yourself up for failure by trying to achieve an unhealthy weight for the sake of appearances.) Baby weight loss is very difficult compared to regular weight loss. If you're still breastfeeding, losing weight could severely impact supply and nourishment. So you really need to be careful of lowering how many calories you consume for the sake of your appearance at the cost of feeding your baby. Hormone imbalances also impact weight. A lot of weight loss depends on getting a good night's rest and being stress-free. Loss of muscle due to carrying a baby and recovery periods mean less efficient…

I couldn't date/marry a doctor or future doctor, or any career that is that demanding. My lifestyle and life goals don't allow for that level of commitment to a job, even for my spouse. My partner and I travel full time in a van and spend our days traveling and adventuring, working just enough to not get fired. It has nothing to do with you not currently having money, just the lifestyle choice you made when you chose your job.

You only get one life. Don't live it for others. The thing is, all of those people are going to judge you either way. You work - awful parent who makes strangers raise their kid! You stay at home - how privileged, you must do nothing all day! If you're gonna be the bad guy either way, be the bad guy in a way that works for you and your family!

We live in a van, it isn't big at all 😅 but we travel a lot and spend 90% of our days rock climbing, snowboarding, paddleboarding, etc ... It's hard to find a job/career that fits into that lifestyle. Mine does, so it makes sense to keep mine. His doesn't, so we are gonna give it up. If we didn't want kids, maybe he could transition to another career path, but it seems silly to spend a year and money on training to …

Yes to the headline question - that's exactly our plan when my partner quits his job later this month. It just doesn't work with our lifestyle for him to keep working. He'll be a house husband for a few years before we have children, and then we will split childcare duties. No to the additional requirements. Regarding #2 - Everyone should be capable and trying to make side income where possible. If we can make some money selling unused items on ebay, why would we not do that? If we can make mone…

Not isolated, had and have friends (it's through friends that I got my first relationship - I didn't magically attract guys and then all of the sudden not). Neurotypical. Relationships aren't just mathematical/if you're a higher number than someone else, you get chosen first. They're also luck and circumstance and everything else. I went down the rabbit hole a lot about why them but not me, and it's very unhealthy. Sometimes 600lb women get a guy where 130lb women do not.

The question wasn't "how do you compare to guys" or "only comment if you don't feel like you're an outlier". It was "invisible women, tell me your story". In my experience, I was invisible because I didn't know myself and didn't know or understand how to attract guys, and really struggled to figure out what I was missing. Once I came into my own (over a decade later than most people), I suddenly became visible - not to everyone (I didn't suddenly become conventionally attractive), but to who I n…

Nope, I actually weigh the exact same before and after (about 23 bmi, so skating the line to overweight but not quite there), but I do carry my weight in my arms and stomach in a non-flattering way. No deformities, but not attractive face - small eyes, small mouth, big nose. Non-white teeth no matter how much I brush/use whitening strips. Probably a 4/5 on a rating scale.

I had both no options and other priorities. To get any male attention, I had to put in hundreds of hours on dating apps. I never once have been talked to at a bar or catcalled on the street or noticed. The only way I got my current relationship was completely changing my lifestyle to where I was able to find more people like me (but I didn't know at the time that was me). I went on 4 first dates over 6 years, all of which required a ton of time on dating apps to get. Meanwhile, friends went through many serious relationships in that time. I definitely felt invisible. Of course there are people that had it way worse than I did, but this is just my story.

I have been very invisible for more of my life than not. I was single for all of college. Not a single guy asked me on a date. I was busy - class, work, etc. I didn't have time and didn't make it my focus, so guys didn't make me theirs. After my first relationship (lasted 3.5 years), I was single again for about 6 years. Many of that was getting over him, many of that was going on dates and having no idea what I was looking for, and some of that was the pandemic. I finally figured out who I was …

Thank you for this! I told him we were in no rush for him to get a job, but he definitely wants to get one as soon as he can, and so I don't want to overly push that he should take a rest period. I wish this unexpected unemployment timed more with when we want to have children - it'd be great to have him home to help! But alas, that's a few years away, so it probably does make more sense for him to quickly get back into the labor market so we can save up for that time.

It does make a difference in that tax wise, pulling money out of investments will cause tax implications in a way that spending my money doesn't. So since we do plan on getting married within the next year, I don't want to impact our shared savings by having more of our money go to the government than has to.

No one in this sub is ever gonna say that fixing a car is feminine or masculine. It's not about surface level hobbies or traits. Colors, beauty routines, etc...those aren't what this sub is talking about. There's a ton of misinformation as to what feminine and masculine are; we try to focus on using what is most naturally feminine or masculine to make relationships work. What red pill is is the same - men and women are different, and a woman being masculine or a man being feminine can and has made dating and relationships not function well. How we take that information and act on it is what makes the stereotype of "red pill" and the philosophies on this sub very different. Women here want to hone in on their feminine side in order to optimize their relationships, or maximize their chances of getting into a food relationship. The men who lurk here tend to feel th…

It's so hard to have a bond with someone you've only sent a few texts to. If it doesn't turn into a date after that first conversation, it's so so easy to completely forget about that person and start the swipe game over again the next time you're on the app. You can of course be more diligent in circling back, but it isn't easy, nor is it easy to spin up a new conversation with someone anyway. What makes you believe there's no way a man and woman can be friends? I have plenty of male friends, none of whom are beta orbitors. Maybe it's because I rock climb and snowboard, maybe it's because I don't see anyone super frequently (I travel full time), or maybe it's because I already have my person, but I find it really easy to be casually friends with a lot of guys without any issue.

It's less about what led a man to red pill, and more about what red pill has the potential to turn a man into. In a best case scenario, the truths about men and women lead a man to work to better himself in ways that attract the women he wants to be with. Sometimes, though, it leads them to feel they are better than women, owed women, and that they should belittle women into being with them. They become possessive and controlling, sometimes borderline abusive. I went on a few dates with a red pi…

Red pill men is not even remotely close to the same as red pill women. Both are reactions to truths about the differences between men and women, but RP for men is usually very anti-women. For those that enter relationships, men who follow "red pill men" content can be very demeaning or controlling, or even deceptive and abusive, with content usually telling a man if his woman is even slightly disappointing, he's free to cheat on her and juggle "plates". This isn't something you could promise even if you wanted to. Loss of trust and therefore the marriage is still devastating. There's no way to come back from your spouse losing trust in you, even if you actually did nothing wrong. I'm not saying that's the case here - if she were innocent I feel like she'd say so in the post, but if my husband (who doesn't exist yet) ever accused me of cheating, I would consider the relationship doomed. How do you come back from that loss of trust?

Legally, at least in most of the US, you have to return the ring, as it is a conditional gift, and if the condition (of marriage) is not being met, then you have no right to the gift. Note some states have "at fault" clauses, where if the giver called off the wedding, the ring may be kept.

Weight is controlled by diet, tone/shape by strength training. Walking/running is great for heart health (hence "cardio"), but it won't do much for the above. Lifting will not turn you muscular unless you're trying for it - trust me I've been trying for years to have a little bit of muscle and nothing shows! If your wife is taking care of your children, then it isn't your money or your home... It's the family's.

I guess I'm not super active or read every post - just ones that show up in my feed, and many have been very anti-woman, including stating that traditional women are also bad (mostly because of the risks of marriage as you stated above a lot of men here have been burned by). But that probably is just a narrow view of the sub (and I'm sure controversial or more extreme posts are the ones more likely to appear in my feed). I do agree it feels that a lot of people use women in place of feminist, so…

I am a woman here. I definitely don't go as far as most people on this sub, as if feels like most actively hate women, but I don't agree with modern day feminism so I'm here. I am a woman who greatly believes in gender roles and the value men and women as men and women bring to a family unit, to a community, and to society. I know a lot of men here view "tradwives" still as women leeching off men, so I don't claim to align with the views of men here, but I at least think that men get more out of…

It does not make her undateable at all - you also hooked up with her, and I doubt you consider yourself undateable. Sometimes the chemistry is just there and things happen. If you like her and enjoyed your time, keep seeing her and see if you guys get along well outside of your initial meeting and immediate feelings/hormones.

This seems to be the most obvious answer to me. If he wants to be closer to family, I get it. I don't know where your family is, but if you're fine being closer to where he wants to be, then he needs to man up and support his family so they (aka you) can support him in his needs.

That particular image is a meme of this article. Women lose sleep in the way they lose lots of things – getting through a world that isn’t designed for them. We lie there and worry about our failures because we fulfil so many more roles than men in a day and know we are judged on all of them.

Hypergamy can exist at the same time some women don't marry "up". Though, even in your examples, it sounds like the men had some higher value than the women in some ways. Statistics beat anecdotes. Here's a study - even among college educated women, 93% still choose to marry financially above themselves.

I honestly would have to say no. If you require a kink to feel fulfilled, no amount of vanilla sex is going to substitute for that desire. If you mostly like normal sex, the amount you want to have is based on your sex drive, so doubling up doesn't seem like it would actually work, unless you were already having sex half as much as your partner wanted.

I know it's very important to you to have more children, but it sounds like, at least for now, that's a non-starter. So if you still have this desire for more nuturing than you're getting with just two children, you need to find other ways to cultivate that. There is no compromise on children - if one partner doesn't want one, no child should be made unwanted. Think how horrible that would be for the child, growing up being unwanted and resented by their father? So work with your husband to see …

Husband is the AH here. Regardless of feminism, if you enter a marriage and agree to financially support your spouse while they take care of the children, then the money you earn is in fact shared money. This does not matter which spouse does which. And regardless, who sends their wife to economy while they're in first class? Without even asking if it was okay / assuming she somehow wanted to sit by herself. If that's how you feel about her, why are you married to her? In this case, suspecting s…

This isn't really something you change for a partner. It sounds like it isn't a deal breaker for him, so I would keep doing what makes you happy. If there's a special occasion or you feel like leaning in to him and his desires, feel free to spice it up a bit with some edgy earrings or have one outfit on hand that'll really excite him. Make sure he understands it's not a regular thing and is just a private way for you to show you like him and want to please him but don't wanna change yourself for…

I'm not quite that bad. I'm almost 32, though, so I do need to decide soon if this is a deal breaker for me. He's also really into porn.

I hate having such a high sex drive. Instead of enjoying whatever time we have together, I spend the entire time trying to figure out if we are going to have sex today or not. I do all the initiating, and just don't want to feel like a nag by initiating every single time, so we just don't have as much sex as I'd like. I hate giving up on someone because of my sex drive, but I'm not sure this is sustainable.

I think you're much better off talking to moms you admire in real life. Instagram is so fake, it's hard to mimic or attain when those are photoshopped or edited in a way that isn't realistic. Talk to your mom, moms at your church, other moms you meet at the park, etc. They'll be able to tell you what sort of efficiencies they've set up in their life to make things fit a certain standard, and where they've fallen short or had to sacrifice to do so.

I think there are just bad people, and those bad people tend to become representatives of their traits (gender, race, etc) for people to condemn the entirety of something (e.g. all women, all men, all cops). I think there's a huge difference between being anti-feminist and anti-woman. A lot of people on this sub are the latter, for a variety of reasons justified or not, but I had hoped this would be a forum that worked for more discussions on policies that are antithetical to feminism but better…

You have to do an assessment first. What's slipping through the cracks and why? For me, I work best when things are assigned to specific days and hours (like a meeting at work), so if that's something that helps you get things done, start creating a calendar. The best way to get rid of clutter is to not have anything in the first place. Go through and get rid of unnecessary things. Anything left over should have a home - an exact place it goes every time you're done with it.

You won't find a hive mind here. Some people here have been burned by women and therefore are against all of them. Some are just anti-liberal-feminazi. Some only believe in traditional marriages, some are fine with women who have careers. Some believe women should have the right to vote, some think all women rights are bad.

The fact that he stepped up to provide for his family, while more than she deserved, is very telling of what a good person he is. I hope he finds a woman who deserves him.

Crazy how somehow there doesn't seem to be a single thing that can apply to an individual as opposed to an attribute that represents an entire gender. I have horrible pain tolerance. Please, nobody assume all women can handle pain. I'm already terrified of giving birth enough as it is without people assuming all women can handle it with ease.

Women with any interests can be more or less attractive to any one man depending on their own interests. You may turn off guys who don't share those "masculine" interests, but you'll be way more attractive to guys who do share them. So while it limits the pool, it deepens the attraction to those in the smaller subset. I rock climb, which has many women but obviously much more men. This makes me attractive to rock climbing guys, who live and breathe climbing and therefore want a woman who does th…

People make it work on one small salary if it's their desire to do so. Your husband would be working on the increasing salary side of things, and you'd be working on the decreasing expenses side of things. Learn to garden to lower food costs, learn to coupon or seek deals, learn to cook deliciously inexpensive meals, have free/low cost hobbies, etc.

No one is the problem. You both have different life goals and philosophies that don't match, regardless of how you care for each other. All of my relationships have been with amazing people, which makes ending them even harder because it really isn't because of them or me, but rather because of us together. I hope you're able to prioritize your happiness here over comfort of the known and find someone who has as much ambition and drive as you desire!

I love the 5-3-1 rule. They pick 5 things, you narrow down to 3, then they pick from that and plan from there. (Them/you can be switched as well).
