I like this. Mainly because of where I currently am in the process. I'm trying to just have fun and not take myself or anyone else too seriously. I find this attitude takes some of the pressure off. I would use this just to see how she reacted. It may or may not work, but at least I'd probably get a funny story out of it.

I've heard that too, though I've never tried it myself. My understanding is it works on core strength, which is always beneficial. I do go to the gym and work on my strength, in particular my back. The temptation is to work on the chest more, but without a strong back, you will roll your shoulders. This is the opposite of what you want.

I'm really surprised at the number of negative comments this has received. I for one found it a refreshing read amongst the usual regurgitation. My impression is that this would be a good beginner exercise - the kind of thing you might find in the 30 day challenge. Something to build a "do things just for the hell of it" mentality. Personally, I don't think that I would walk away, though. I would see if it just naturally transitioned into a conversation. However, I can see the underlying logic. …

The very first thing I worked on when I started looking into this stuff was posture. Like most people, I used to slouch quite badly. No doubt this is due to working at a desk for 8 or more hours a day. I forced myself to create a habit of pulling my shoulders back and raising my chin so that I was looking straight ahead as I walked. This slowly became comfortable, and it is amazing how your confidence can increase through this simple change.

My approaches are normally situational, as I also have a hard time psyching myself up to approach cold. However, in either case, I think it's always better to put the focus on her, rather than yourself. Don't be concerned with what she will think of you. Instead, be curious about what kind of person she is.

These are interesting points that you're making. For me, however, it's more about the idea that if you think about a single approach, then the risk will seem high. But the more times you approach, the less you will feel like you are risking, because the probability of success will be greater (if that makes any sense at all).

As hard as this is to do (been there a number of times), I think you should wait for her to make contact. She may well just be really busy as you say. If she's still interested she will text back. In the meantime, try to keep busy with other things and not think about her too much.

I recently disabled my OKC account. I wasn't having any success there anyway. While I know that it can be a useful tool and that many people use it, I still like to believe that I can be successful without it. I don't go on many dates (and lately my sex life has left a lot to be desired), but one thing I have noticed is that people are always impressed by my stories of how I ask girls out, mostly because they are so impromptu. One paraphrased comment from a family friend was: "People are always …

Like most things discussed here, I don't think it's as black and white as that. I think that if you sound like a stuck up, unsocialising tool, it's probably due to other things you've said in an interaction, rather than simply adding your surname when introducing yourself. Nevertheless, thanks for your input. It may be more appropriate at industry networking events or similar. Anyway, that's why I'm opening up a dialogue about it.

It's Tinder bro. Your "not giving a fuck" literally had zero impact on your results.

It's an interesting thought, but if I don't work then I don't get payed, which turns it into a pretty expensive exercise. To be honest, I'd rather go to work and then put more focus on my social life in the evenings and on weekends. Taking a day off puts a lot of pressure on that day. Then again, others might call this "incentive".

Harshness and truths, probably in equal measure. I appreciate the constructive criticism, but I think its worth considering that first time posters could be put off by this kind of brutally honest response (even if the message is spot on). I see it as constructive, but others may not. Back on topic though, what do you mean by "practice some game in the office"? I'm in an office of about 25 people, and would think that anything over just practicing good conversation and small talk (which I do alr…
