As for the preventative efficacy of i3c, there doesn't seem to be evidence that it's anywhere close to as effective as mastectomies. Healthy diet, exercise, etc. alone doesn't prevent cancer just like how a poor diet or lack of exercise won't cause cancer. The legality of it was questioned, and tried in court until it reached the Supreme Court. On June 13th the Supreme Court ruled that their patent was invalid.
