Oh this is brilliant, thank you! I particularly like the mindset that if you have overcome your past trauma, you are a new person now, so why spend time and energy sharing your past if it is not going to impact the person you're with. I do think you may need to strategically bring something up if there is a trigger point for the said trauma, but that would be something you work through in therapy or what not. And on the other side of the coin, if you're not over the said trauma, then you could e…

That's a good point about how not divulging your past is to protect yourself and your privacy. And I do agree you run the risk of too many LVM finding out your past, which is never a good thing. Thank you for taking the time to respond! I'm still mulling over this concept and I appreciate hearing different perspectives.

I want to meet all of these women who are supposedly orgasming with every sexual encounter without foreplay and clitoral stimulation. Must be unicorns.

Well!! Dont skimp on the details, how did it go? Did you write back to him, just as he was hoping? Was it everything you had hoped and dreamt? /s

Hated watching Friends with my NVM ex and have him comment on Jennifer's nipples in every episode. Yes we get it dipshit, you're a perv trying to normalise creepy behaviour!

It wouldn't matter if she was 26. Or 56. Age is just a number. At 76, yes she very well could have spent years watching her fellow women get divorced and cheated on, abused and left for younger women. She could have also known deep within her own heart that men have had bad intentions. She has also clearly been abused. When you're a victim of abuse, it doesn't matter how old you are. Abusers are masters of manipulation. They can make you believe the sky is green, despite that there is damning ev…

You're welcome! The PicoSure laser (or a similar laser) would also definitely help with the acne scarring and any textural issues with your skin. Laser in general will be the most effective thing for scarring. There are other treatments you can also use in conjunction to lasers, which may help (tretinoin, AHA chemical exfoliators, vitamin C serums, etc.). There are different types of lasers, and even though most lasers achieve the same results of clear, smooth, vibrant & plump skin, the intensit…

Haha I know right! He was very skilled at manipulating me for my money etc. Your ex sounds despicable too!! Stealing is never okay. I highly recommend the laser!! I have heard some horror stories about laser; when it's performed at a setting that is too high, it can cause permanent damage to the skin, giving the pores an orange peel effect. I was terrified the first time I had laser, as I was worried this would happen to me (it's very rare, but it can happen!). Anyway, my doctor knows what she i…

Your self-care journey after your breakup sounds so similar to mine! I also got laser to remove my pigmentation on my face. I went with a PicoSure laser. My doctor recommended it over IPL because my pigmentation was a little bit more severe. I've booked in for three sessions, have already had my first session, and WOWEE the results are amazing! My skin looks like it did when I was 20! No dark spots! No more having to carefully layer on the concealer. My pores are smaller. I just look really fres…

This is so disturbing. I wish graphic titles like this weren't visible until you click on it. I completely understand we need to bring awareness to these NV scum. But, it's not something I was expecting to read without warning. Edit: Removed words implying I am being too sensitive.

Oh my Queenie, this is amazing. Yes! 1000 times yes to this. I had never thought of it that way before, i.e. being so strong you can be gentle. It definitely makes sense when you think about it. All of these traits, and the way they are correctly expressed, are a fantastic representation of a true High Value Woman. 💗

Thank you for sharing this. You've been through a journey, but you now have such a healthy outlook on your body and your appearance. It is inspiring. I love how you associate your body-positivity to yoga, dancing, hiking, biking etc. I've had so many elderly women (in their 80s) say to me that I shouldn't take my health and my body for granted, and this is what they mean. Move and exercise and celebrate your strength whilst you still have it! That is beauty.

"Another woman's beauty is not the absence of your own". This is a very powerful message. It is a great reminder to not compare yourself to other beautiful women, and that their own unique beauty is not a threat to yours. We are all comrades on this journey together!

Thank you for sharing! This is beautiful. I love reading about women supporting women. Having a HVW mentor in your life can make such a huge difference and can help encourage friendships with only HVW.

Oooh I love this! It's also the face I make to myself when I indulge the idea of unblocking my no-value ex and telling him what I think of him. Sis, please! Also, I have seen your username throughout the FDS handbook and I am fanwomaning a bit right now. You're amazing! Everyone who contributed to the handbook is amazing. 💗

I've never used OLD, I always met my exes organically. Lately I had been tempted to create an account to see what all the fuss is about. This post and these comments have changed my mind. Especially that comment on how using OLD for just 10 mins a day equates to 70 mins a week, and how you can instead use that time to work on a hobby or yourself! Love this concept!! 💗 Also, I think for me, the feeling of wanting to use OLD apps is actually my underlying pick-me tendencies trying to claw their wa…

This is a powerful post. I've never heard of the phrase 'soul tie' until reading this post. It really resonates with me. It's not just about the types of people you choose to associate with and converse with, it's also those you choose to be intimate with. I haven't finished the FDS handbook yet, but from what I have gathered, casual hookups is not encouraged, as you are not truly exposing yourself to HVM, or practicing high value behaviours. I wasn't sure how I felt about this, but your post be…

You've perfectly described how to understand what your gut instinct/intuition is, by comparing it to our thoughts on the subject (i.e. the person in question). I'm going to keep this as a reference for future. Thank you.

Sia!! She is an amazing Australian singer-songwriter. A lot of her lyrics behind her songs are very powerful & empowering and promote independence, self-worth and not giving up. She got me through my rough patch in my break-up. Sufjan Stevens. This artst is not female, but I believe he is a HVM and respects women. His lyrics (which he writes) are quite sensitive and emotive. I know this feature alone doesn't make him HV, but... He seems authentic. He's written a song about his sister breaking fr…

This post feels like I wrote this! So many similarities in our LVM situation. But honestly, all LVM situations are similar due to the common denominator (the LVM). Love your energy! Keep it up. "You are worth more than how he makes you feel". This reminds me of a quote I read the other day - "No one can value you more than you value yourself".

I feel the same way. I see watching porn (and viewing sexualised images of women on Instagram/Snapchat etc) as a form of cheating. When I am in a relationship, I have no inclination to look at anyone else for viewing pleasure and arousal, and I expect the same standards from my partner.

Thank you so much for mentioning Betrayal Trauma Recovery podcast, this sounds like it will be a great resource. I am recovering from a narcissistic ex and I really needed this today.

I do agree we need to support each other and warn women about LVM. Tactfully, and under the right circumstances. I am also mindful that not all women will be receptive to receiving news their partner is a LVM, even if it did come along with evidence. Especially if they are a pickmeisha, or if the LVM is a narcissist and the partner is a narcissist-enabler. Additionally, and most unfortunately, there can be repercussions against the HVW for having outed the LVM to their new partner. Not all LVM w…

Last Saturday I treated myself to lunch, by myself, at my favourite cafe. It was such a treat. The waitresses were very friendly to me, and when they brought out my dessert (chocolate mousse), they said the chef said to say hi. I didn't know the chef, but it was a nice moment. Sometimes the universe just wants to be nice. I am a very slow eater, and it took me almost 1.5 hours to eat my lunch. I loved having the power to eat for as long as I wanted to, and leave on my terms.

I've gotta say, I am only halfway through the FDS, but I love the term "leveling up". Everytime I read it, I picture myself growing more stronger, confident, skilled, fullfilled and joyful. Additionally, when I am picturing myself levelling up, the Super Mario Bros music is playing, i.e. when Mario eats a mushroom and gets bigger.

This is such a good perspective. I am taking initiative to broaden my social contacts and engage in conversation with people (not just for dating purposes). I've been subconsciously vetting potential guys in the process of this, but now I am going to be more aware and do this mindfully. I love this sub, there are so many useful tips!!

I really needed to hear this. Thank you for this lovely advice! Make dating confidence the priority, not the actual dating component. Confidence is so important. I am also learning the value of branching out my networks and meeting new people in person. With confidence.

This is really inspiring to hear!! To be honest I am becoming a bit disheartened at the prospect of dating, once I am ready to date. I've recently become single for the first time in my adult life, and I have never dated before. I have a lot to learn. The FDS handbook is helping immensely, but golly gosh I am a bit overwhelmed about the thought of dating. Which is a clear sign I am not ready to date. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for sharing this nice story. It gives me hope for dating, on…

Thanks for sharing this, it provides hope that there are HVM out there. Without going into personal details, would you mind sharing how the two of you met? It seems like a lot of HVA meet under everyday circumstances, and not on dating apps.
