I definitely recommend watching your sugar intake. Look at the nutrition facts on the food you eat and try to limit yourself to ~40g of sugar a day at most. That made a huge difference for me. Since you have messed up feet, I'd recommend seeing if you can do lap swimming at a local pool or something in the summer. It's a lot easier on your joints and legs than jogging or something similar would be. Exercise bikes might also be a good idea (probably at your local gym).

I've never cared so much about getting respect, I just like being able to feel good about my body and be proud of my hard work. It's like developing a web page or building a house, you put in a lot of work and something great comes out of it. I don't think motivation is the key to getting fit, it's discipline. I chose to merge those two paths a bit in my life. I'm currently attending a university (digging a hole for myself) and going for a degree in Visual Communication and Design, which is considered a STEM field. There's a lot of focus on illustration and creating designs which is something I enjoy a lot. In addition to that, there's web design, photography, typography, and some other things built into my program. Hopefully I'll be an "artist" that isn't starving.

When you put it like that i seems like there's only one option that's any good. I've done a fair bit of introspection in the last couple weeks and I know that I can live without women as I've never lived with them to begin with. The hard part is going to be convincing myself that what I've fantasized about for years isn't real.
