You wrote “fiancé at the time”… please tell me they didn’t get married.

I got a dog. I moved across the country. I keep my environment as clean as I like. I took up fun new outdoor hobbies. I haven't looked back!

Hmm if he was "used by females for sex and [his] body", then he should already know how bad it feels to be objectified. No thanks!

I have encountered so many men like this. They don't ask questions about me and they interrupt me to talk about themselves. When I do manage to finish a thought, they just steer the conversation back towards themselves. The worst example was when I excitedly told a man that I was meeting the governor the next day - he interrupted to ask which governor (uh, the only one?) then told me about an interaction he'd had with a previous governor. He then continued talking about himself. I was so steamed…

I'm sorry you're going through this as well. But you have every reason to be optimistic. It's an exciting world out there! I was terrified of being alone at first, but it ended up being one of the best decisions I've ever made. I wish you all the best, and feel free to reach out any time if you want someone to listen who's been there before.

Are you me? My story is identical, except I'm a few years past the divorce hump. It was hard in the moment, but ultimately so worth it to get out of that relationship when it was hurting me more than it was helping me. You got this, sis!

2.5 years, and it was an absolute novel of an apology text from my ex-husband who had an affair. Barf. Blocked.

I don't see the point in following exes. If we broke up (regardless of who initiated), then I don't want to see them anymore, and I certainly don't want them creeping on me.

I went on a business trip and built up my network in my field. Also paid off my car!

So sorry you're going through this, sis. I'm going through something similar. Its not easy! Here is what I did/am doing: I blocked him on everything - Instagram, Facebook, even the Xbox I purchased just to play with him. I can't see him and he can't see me. If I don't see, then I don't know, then I don't have anything new to analyze and hurt over. I am marking on a calendar every day I go without talking to/checking up on him. It's a running tally of exactly how strong I am. And when I see my st…

Sister, I am in the same boat as you right now. And when I see my streak, I don't want to break it…

Sister, I'm sorry to say this to you - you shouldn't have to send this to him to get his attention.

I'm not going to tell any long personal stories, but I will share some pointers that worked for me: I boosted my self-confidence by leveling up my appearance. I developed a skincare and hair styling routine. I had makeovers done at a few different makeup stores/kiosks to try new products and get an idea of what I liked. I leveled up my wardrobe (this doesn't have to be expensive - I've purchased nice pieces at thrift stores. The trick is to think classic and timeless). I do my own nails. I too…

Even writing this makes me cringe, but here we go. After 6 years of marriage, I discovered that he was having an affair. I considered leaving but he said he wanted to make things work, and I believed him. I organized an international trip to help rekindle the relationship. He was distant during the trip, and one night he made a comment that he cheated because he was dissatisfied with his job. Ladies, I actually said out loud to him that I wanted him to be happy, he should go back to school to st…
