Damn, if you have to work that hard at hobbies then you taking all the fun out of it. I guess I've had it wrong all along riding dirt bikes and mountain bikes. I don't have time for anything else and there's not chance I'm going to give them up.

I'm pretty handy and can fix a lot of things. My wife's friend used to ask her to loan me out all the time. I did it more often than not because I knew it made her feel good. But my skills were taken advantage of a couple of times. A few years ago I told her she can lend me out as a freebe twice a year and no more. It made her stop and think, and she's way more protective of my time. Now, Its rare that she asks me, and its usually someone in dire straits.

This is the main reason I'm getting it plated. The ortho said surgery is the best way to make sure I'm as close to 100% as possible. Between riding 2-3 times a week, and lifting 3 times a week its a no brainer.

I will do as much PT as my insurance will pay for. Whatever it takes to get back on the bike. This is by far the longest I've been off a motorcycle in 18 years. I can't even ride the street bike till I get released.

I think when your in the right frame she will want to please you. Take her to the gym and have her look at the girls doing squats, most have a great ass, might be some motivation. Squats really are a girls best friend, I've seen first hand the transformation.

Motorcycles; street riding, dirt bikes, motocross, road racing. We all know chicks dig motorcycles. Drag your knee on the track and watch your wife brag about it. Beer Brewing. While most of this is done at home, it is done outside. Also once you make good beer you can bring bottles to parties. DHV when people are shocked you made the beer they are drinking.

Being an assertive driver, but not too aggressive, is a great trait to show your wife. While your at it open the door for her too, she'll love it. I push the boundaries of assertive and acknowledge I can get to aggressive at times. But in my circle I'm know as the best driver of the bunch.

If nothing else, those that get married and find TRP still have some hope. Keeping your wife on her toes will also keep her looking as good as possible for as long as possible. If it does end you will be much better off on the other side than she will. We are the first generation in history that has an easy periscope to the past (Facebook). Its absolutely crazy looking at all the girls I was after in my teens. 95% wouldn't even get a look from me walking down the street.

Our gym is divided with benches, racks, and free weights on one side, the machines on the other. Its amazing to see the difference in people between the two sides. Its great motivation and there are gorgeous girls everywhere.

I think I'm missing the point on what an actual GNO is. My wife does GNO once every couple months with a couple other married women. It consists of happy hour at Bravo (Italian Resturant) drinking wine and Bellini's. She's home by 9. Texts and receipts verify this (trust but verify). It does not worry me one bit.

Best bet is to find a local off road forum or racing series. There are always OG guys willing to help a new guy get into the sport. I've converted a couple guys and it's way easier to get started with the guidance. You don't want to go to a dealer without knowing what you want. They will not steer you in the best direction.

I know I've said it before. Dirt Bikes. Motorcycles are cool and dangerous. It gets you out of the house and away from home. Riding hard is a really good workout. It's mentally challenging. Comradery when riding with friends. Racing dirt bikes takes it all to another level. You'll never top out, every ride you work to improve skills. Male dominated sport that you can do with your kids. Motorcycles are simpler than cars, you can learn to work on it. A major downside is it's an expensive sport/hob…

I don't think it matters as long as you live the lifestyle. I ride sport bikes and dirt bikes. While its hard to take my wife riding on my sport bike for any length of time, I know it turns her on. She brags all the time about how I ride a 1000cc sport bike and drag my knee on the track. She seriously brings it up to people on a regular basis.

Interesting note: I told my wife when we were getting married that she could never ask me to stop riding my motorcycle. I'd heard of too many guys who's wives asked/ordered them to stop riding. I made it crystal clear I'd walk the first time it came up. Everyday that I don't ride either the street bike (S1000RR) or the dirt bike (YZ450F) is not a complete day.

I don't think its wrong to tell her your ok and not to worry. A couple of weeks ago I was out riding my dirt bike and then having a couple of beers back at the truck with a buddy. Got home a couple hours after dark. My wife was mad because she just wanted to know that we came back from the ride with no one hurt. She didn't care how long I stayed out and it was reasonable for her to want to know that I didn't crash. Now I just send her a quick text "all ok, having beers".
