Maybe it's b/c I don't know a lot of women over 40 Yup, probably this. The women friends and family I have that are older singles past 45 are pretty much fine. And I know all the varieties - widowed, divorced, never married, with kids, without.

It makes no sense biologically as it's harder to have kids at those ages. This is one of the theories behind the increased libido around those ages. You need to have more sex to increase the chances of getting pregnant. Your body knows the clock is ticking. Anecdotally, all my friends and myself as well, were horny as fuck in our 30s-early 40s. Then the sex drive falls off a cliff when menopause hits.

Tradcons would be the only ones with cognitive dissonance and that's only if they were pursuing casual sex while also advocating for female purity. It's my understanding that these types aren't generally the pump and dumpers. RP seems unconcerned with morality. They fuck whoever will fuck them, it's not on them to worry about whose future woman they're devaluing, that's some other dude's problem. Men of any persuasion that behave that way just lack basic empathy for women, and probably for other…

the audience of the time it was aired on did not necessarily see friendship between a grown man and a girl as strange or alien. On tv where everything was sanitized back then, sure, it was cool. In real life a middle aged man spending alone time with a little girl would be red-flag city. I grew up in the 70-80s, EVERYONE knew there were males to avoid in all different places -2 teachers at my elementary school were known to perv on the 6th grade girls that developed early, there was a flasher in…

its that basically push pull game was the only leg up for average men and now that game has been foiled If you mean the average man has a lesser chance to have no-commitment sex with insecure chicks that's a plus for women (especially young ones) and also for the men who constantly complain about "body counts."

This is the type of hyperbolic fear mongering that I think makes any notion of improving the relationships between men & women impossible. I'm in my 50s. I can't think of any of my female friends or family members that didn't have AT LEAST one experience of a pushy, stalker-y male that didn't give a shit why she said she wasn't interested and proceeded to creep on her anyway. It's not "fear mongering" it's real shit we have to tell young girls and women so they don't assume being honest is more …

Oh ok. I'd still take the broke dude. I don't share. Edited to add, women voluntarily ok with those arrangements must have different types of needs than women who need fidelity. If my husband wanted to fuck or bond with other women, I'd probably be too sickened by him to stay in love.

I have young nieces who might need advice in a year or two and I want to understand the dating world they're coming up in. Most people on here seem young and left-leaning so it's the right demographic for me to watch. 2.I've always been fascinated by human sexual dynamics, being an outlier. I like Reddit's text based format. I'm old and nerdy and it's easy to navigate.

I had an age gap relationship during my late teens/ early 20s that put me off them forever. Right before I met my partner I'd started college and a 28 yr old fellow student tried really hard to get with me. I was so flattered by the "adult" attention (I thought he was so impressed at my maturity and intelligence lol)and tried to date him because of that. I was a weirdo that never had much success with boys my age. He turned out to be boring, patronizing as fuck and was way too enamored of the id…

I'd take a broke dude I'm attracted to and doesn't bore me over a high status rich one who wasn't that into me any day of the week. I think most of these women people on here talk about who share just don't know they're sharing.

provided your a certain size, even being super nice still makes women afraid of you. Even small men are a physical threat to most women, and most women are aware of this. A huge dude giving off safe vibes is way less intimidating than a small one giving off unstable vibes.

To me, a high body count would be any ONS or experiences where the man was purposefully sport fucking and not open to starting a relationship, but I'm older so feel free to roll your eyes lol. I don't deny that it is normal for males to want to fuck many women and to fantasize about it, even when married. I also don't deny that women's sex drives are vastly different to men's in general, both in strength and in the ways we get aroused. That said, my original point still stands -not all men who C…

you can't assume a guy with a high body count is going to give you a positive experience. This, all day long. Who cares how well he was able to get other women off, it's only important that he learn to get YOU off. Figuring that shit out together is easy if you've got the chemical attraction part going already and there aren't too many hangups.

A body count in men doesn't tell me anything about him other than he is attractive to women. A high body count in a man absolutely says something about him. Even a hot guy has to make an effort to get laid so it says a lot about how he chooses to spend his time and how he probably feels about women and relationships.

I have a boyfriend/husband has always been the easiest shutdown for strangers, before and after I was partnered. For a known person who knew I was single, it would always be awkward. "I'm not looking to date anyone now" got me "Why not?" or "It's not a date, just wanted to hang out." and persistent attempts to change my mind until one of us changed jobs or classes and lost contact. When a man marries a woman young, he gets wife goggles. So even as she ages, and isnt as pretty as younger women, he still views her like she was when they met. Agree, as a woman with a same-age hubby, together since late teens, both in our 50s. I swear when we look at current pics of ourselves we laugh at how old we look in the pics when we don't see it live. Unless other aspects of the relationship suck wife/husband goggles are absolutely real.

Good judgement can't predict the future with 100% accuracy. And often people don't show their true colors until they're under duress. A woman putting all her eggs in the homemaker basket could leave her screwed even if she doesn't believe in divorce. I've been with the same man since I was a teenager but I'd never advise teenage marriage as a goal -I'm aware enough to realize I just got lucky.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/23 01:01 AM

It works when the woman and man have picked perfectly. Otherwise, dude's getting "divorce raped" or the woman's suddenly a broke and undesirable single mom. Nothing wrong with a traditional dynamic, just foolish to bank on it.

If he had a high bodycount through failed relationships, maybe. If he'd used women for sex or led women on to get sex, no. Unless he truly regretted his actions, and for the right reasons.

I don't think crying is a problem. It's complaining without attempting to fix the problem, acting woe-as-me all the time, and acting negative or being a quitter. You won't be attractive if you cry and also display those traits.

I actually agree with that. So long as it's applied across the board. I don't happen to believe that poor relationship choices are the sorts of things that it should apply to, however. If that were a criteria we'd lose most of our voters and congresspeople...oh wait , maybe that's NOT a bad idea lol

By that logic, TRPs and simps should be stripped of self- governance because of their failures to vet the women they've been cucked or divorce raped by. Shitty sexual experiences =/= inability to be a responsible adult human.

1 in 5 may sound like a lot to some people but when I think about all the women I have known, myself included, I don't know ANY who haven't at the very least had to fend off a dude who didn't want to take no for an answer. I know 3 women who have been outright raped.

I definitely agree that most women want sexually dominant men, but where do you get the idea that women who are sexually dominant have to be bi? You've mentioned this a few times in threads like this -it just your own experience or is there some kind of study?

Those aren't dominant women in the sexual sense. That's just a sexually submissive woman with high standards.

imo it's usually not fear of the woman's experience or not measuring up (the ones who are genuinely insecure about their own performance with an individual woman never seem to be the ones making the biggest issue of it ), it's fear of what LTRing a woman like that does to his status among other men. If you meet a man who your girlfriend/wife used to fuck (or even hear about her past dudes specifically), you feel devalued before those men because they had your woman when she was in a newer, and t…

If you had great chemistry and sex when young and you don't totally let yourself go, he will still want to fuck you. He might fantasize about other women (AMALT) but that doesn't mean he won't still be into you. Wife/husband goggles are definitely a thing. I think the only way I'd be fine with a dude not paying would be if there was some provision in the law requiring that before they had sex in the first place, both parties sign and notarize a document stating he's not liable for any birth that results.

They're irrelevant to my point -those options aren't there to provide men the freedom to escape responsibility. The options are available because the pregnancy takes place in HER body.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/20 11:57 AM

Are you really unwilling to acknowledge that it's a mutual choice and therefore a mutual responsibility? Unless a rape was involved both parties are voluntarily entering into a situation where pregnancy is a possibility every time a dick enters a vagina.

A man can opt for blow jobs, anal, handjobs, doubling up on other bc methods...men have all the power to not release their seed in a woman's vagina. Unless you were forced to penetrate, the choice was yours as well. It's not a privilege to have to choose between aborting your child, permanently altering your body with a pregnancy, or becoming a single mom/staying involved with the wrong man. And women already DO bear all the responsibility -if they keep it, they're primarily stuck with it's upke…

Unless they don't have sex. yes, they. Both made a choice, both know the inherent biological differences and what those entail. If a woman is getting pregnant from precum, pretty good chance there was an unwrapped penis and an uncareful man to share in the stupid.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/20 02:08 AM

Right, but again you mentioned women and children as far as social services. Do women without children have any benefit over men? Are single male parents denied the benefits single moms can get?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/20 12:01 AM

Men can nut somewhere other than a woman's vagina. I can't relate to men absolving careless men in this equation. A man has 100% control over whether he knocks a woman up. The only reason men have less control over the outcome is due to the pregnancy not happening in HIS body. Biology isn't fair. Why men think being stuck alone with kids you can't afford is in any way a privilege is baffling to me though.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/20 11:55 PM

Subsidizing the children is just that -taking care of the children. They are separate life forms that most people agree deserve protection regardless of how shitty their parents were. I don't like paying for the mistakes of others, either, but let's be real, we're not just paying for the mom's mistake, we're paying for the dad's.

Other than battered women shelters, are there that many more programs that specifically exclude men who need help? Meaning, do childless, non-domestic abuse victim women really have more access to state/charity resources than men? Not a gotcha, just curious since you're in that field.

I just took an online test and scored a 1. I've tried these in the past and that's normally how I come out. I think it's somewhat inaccurate in that it doesn't take kink into account. Some of my fantasies include women but have nothing to do with me actually wanting to have sex with women or being romantically attracted to them.

Not all of us relate to the submissive partner... there are some things as a dom female I just can't do -toss a dude around, inspire REAL submission from a man, not just feigned (I just don't believe men can respect women the way they respect men, even men who prefer dominant women). But I can get that vicarious thrill through m/m erotica.

It's cringy to me personally just like some other kinks, but I get the appeal to women who are into the "gentle dom" thing. They want to feel cared for and treasured, which carries a paternal aspect lacking in rougher types of maledom. I mean, I don't think they're LARPing that they're fucking their actual dads, or sexualizing an actual father/daughter relationship. To me, real friendship+sexual chemistry= an actual relationship. When I was dating it was the 80s and "FWB" wasn't a thing. From all I've seen from friends of both sexes, it usually looks like a dude keeping a chick around for steady sex, or a woman thinking or hoping it might go somewhere else. Both probably wasting eachother's time.

I'd probably be considered high libido for a woman, and if I'm really horny I've had physical discomfort to a degree if I can't get off, but it's ALWAYS been easily taken care of by masturbating. I have no idea what it would be like to feel a true "need" to go out and involve someone else in that.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/20 08:20 PM

Idk, I'm a female dominant and the way it expresses with me doesn't seem that different from male doms, apart from the obvious inability to toss my man around like a ragdoll. I have definitely gotten the impression from all I've read (I don't interact with other kinky people irl so research and how my own relationship works is all I understand of it) that women who lean this way on their own rather than being "awakened" by a male partner are way more rare than I would've thought.

Even if men try to agitate the system, the system will still favor women because they make up more of the voting population. This is definitely a thing for MRA to work on I guess. Getting more dudes to vote and agitate about it. These examples are not equality of opportunity, because you need to take the opportunity from someone else to appease the requirements. Rome, the pinnacle of civilisation in the ancient times, thought slavery was good... lol That's kind of my point...the greater good looks different to different groups,at different times. That's why I don't believe any one special group of humans deserves the power to decide which humans own themselves and which humans don't. Women are more responsible for child rearing. Men are more responsible for financial support. They are also more likely to lose assets when it comes to divorce. Men still work more dangerous jobs than women, and are less likely to be covered by welfare safety nets like insurance, food, and housing. These are cultural holdovers from previous generations. My guess is if enough men agitate for custody and fairness in divorce settlement etc. there will be a shift in the culture to accommodate that. T…

In order for me to argue your point I would first have to accept the premise that only humans that meet some nebulous criteria for what serves "the greater good" deserve the right to self-determination. I don't, because everyone has their own awesome idea of what the greater good is and it always amounts to whatever that person finds personally appealing at the time.

The legal responsibilities? Other then the draft, which I think is wrong for either sex (personally I'm against compulsory state service of any kind), I can't think of any differences still existing in law as far as responsibilities. If you're speaking culturally, women have only had true legal equality for maybe 50 or so years. It's the first time in human history that the mainstream of a society has broadly accepted that women have as much right to self-determination as men, and the first time…

What are you considering it's original purpose? As an American woman I think recognizing women as independent citizens and acknowledging that they have the same inalienable rights that men do (and therefore aren't being "granted" or "given" rights but are just having the rights they are entitled to for being human acknowledged) was the most basic original purpose. Everything else about women's "liberation," in the US at least, stems from that premise. I don't think it's failed in that aspect.

Rape isn't the most efficient way to reproduce humans (lower chance of impregnation but also dire consequences by her family members to either the rapist, the mother, or the unborn child depending on the culture), so I'd have to say rape was never the standard.

Reasonable is wholly subjective and also tends to change as you age anyway, so what feels reasonable when you're 20 won't be when you're past 30. That said, twice a week seems like a pretty normal baseline throughout. You have to make sure she actually wants to keep fucking you though. Make her coming a priority, don't make it feel like sex is something she has to do FOR you, something you overtly expect from her. Then it looks like a chore. Make sure it's an activity she looks forward to.

I remember reading about a specific dynamic styled as a Queen and her knight, and it just sat right with me. I've always been the dominant partner between me and the hubby and that is pretty much the closest to the feel of our dynamic. It's never felt like I was "emasculating" him. Plus, you know, your male sex drive pushing every fiber of your young body to do just that... That's just not biological reality for women. It's so obvious that strength can be used for good things that it just wasn't part of my point. My point was that physical strength is not the attribute in and of itself that inspires respect, especially on an individual basis. It's just a fact of biology, like women being the child-bearers. I meant biological as in genetically coded into males, regardless of culture, as opposed to purely culturally-produced disgust (which is what disgust only tied to expectations of investment sounds like). If it's genetically coded into males, the Mosuo are wired differently, either to tolerate a culture with promiscuous females or to be able to accept that culture as it developed for whatever reasons it did. Women want men who are desirable to other women. A man that has been with and has the ability to be with many women obviously fall into that category. That's not necessarily a matter of n-count. Without knowing a man's history, it's pretty easy to see if other women react to them with interest or not and how socially adept they are. He doesn't have to have racked up #s for that.

But does your business come first because you're the man, or because it's either the more stable source of income, or more vital to you personally and would make you unhappy to downscale it? If it's more important to you than her house-flipping plans are to her, it doesn't really seem to be an issue of male leadership.

This really doesn't seem male-led to me? This just sounds like healthy, trying-to-please-your-partner stuff. edit: didn't read clearly enough lol missed where you said letting him have the final say. Is that about everything? Like, where's the line where you just concede, after discussing and giving your input? Is he just a better decision-maker in general? Or is it more that you both just let the other have the final say where it matters more to one of you or the other?

Me and the hubby got together around the same age, it's been over 30 years now. As long as you don't take eachother for granted, let your bodies go to shit, or stop being sexual (can't emphasize this enough!) it can stay amazing. 7 years is already a long time and he married you rather than try to make you a "forever girlfriend" so you must have a solid foundation. Yeah I don't know where you got the idea that I was arguing that point. I'm a small female, I've been aware that men are stronger than me my whole life. I think the only disagreement was over the dick being the source of vulnerability. It's not, the REST of the man is.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/19 11:11 PM
1

lol a foreign object, ok. Maybe if I was being raped, that's how it would feel. Yeah, he's a man, he's stronger, so objectively I'm in a more vulnerable position. Who's arguing that? You seem to have an issue with the fact that I don't feel vulnerable. Like I said, the entire idea of penetration feeling normal and natural, and not necessarily tinged with force or domination, escapes you.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/19 08:43 PM
1

I really don't, no. We both obviously know I'm physically weaker, but in the context of our dynamic, that's not the focus or interest so when he's in me I don't "feel vulnerable" in some primal way the way you seem to be thinking. It's not like a man's dick is the strong part, it's all that muscle mass. So if he's not actively demonstrating it, that strength difference is pretty easy to ignore. Position and mindset between you make all the difference. I realize it can be hard for a man to unders…

This is bad logic. The vagina tissue can be just as painful for a woman. Is a woman with vaginismus always submissive? So that logic of yours flies out the window. I was speaking more broadly, but I guess I'd say it depends on the mindset, just like any other variation of D/s. If a woman with that condition desired to be penetrated despite of, or because of, the pain and difficulty, it would seem more submissive to me, yeah. You are built to be penetrated - by another human with an appendage who…

A woman in the right position can be totally in control of the action even while being penetrated, with zero pain or prep if she's aroused, while being penetrated anally is just a lot more physically vulnerable. The tissue up there is not as durable, doesn't lubricate, takes practice for it not to just hurt, etc. Not knocking anyone who can feel dominant from that position, I just don't understand it personally as a woman, where there isn't even a prostate up there to have fun with. 15 year olds are horny, but they are also capable of making rational decisions when cost greatly outweighs the benefit. Except they're actually not. The adolescent brain is not developed enough to be able to weigh consequences like a fully formed adult. Add fluctuating and excessive hormones, puppy love, and zero life experience to reflect on, and it's pretty much a lost cause.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 04:54 AM

And honestly, most 19 year old girls I know aren't any smarter than the 17 year olds. This is accurate -the brain isn't really done developing (in either sex) until mid to late 20s. 19 and 17 are pretty much on the same level. Many girls like older guys and feel mature vicariously through association yes, because of the above -brains not done developing and lacking adult, more consequence-aware decision making power. I don't like paying ANY taxes, but that's another story. Most pregnant women don't drink because they don't want to poison their baby and/or face public shame. The few that don't give a damn or are THAT ridiculously uninformed are not enough to be a public health crisis, and would easily find another way to get alcohol.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/19 04:12 AM

I don't think it's anyone's business. If you can legally choose to have an abortion, why can't you legally drink while pregnant? There are tons of things a pregnant woman can do that might harm the fetus, are they going to be made illegal too? Where is the line drawn? If a bar wants to refuse service I guess I don't much care, let public support or outrage be the consequence it has to deal with.

Nah I don't buy the hypergamy thing the way it's used here and applied only to females. What RPs call hypergamy could also be a bad pairing where the woman just happens to leave first. If she winds up with a dude the ex sees as "better", maybe he sees hypergamy and says AWALT. Maybe it makes it easier to swallow to blame female biology rather than look at exactly how you fucked up with your choices. I think some men (and women) are better off not marrying, and some aren't. I don't know about drawn Guro or snuff porn per se but what I HAVE seen in fanfic (written for and by probably 90% women) even the darkest, most demented, kinkiest shit is often written to wring out high levels of emotional catharsis and almost nothing to do with objectifying the victim. Honestly in pretty much anything I've read the victimized party is healed and fixed by the end. I don't see anything comparable in explicit material made by men for men.

If you're trying to get a woman to relax and feel safe so you can fuck her when you're practically a stranger, than yes, that would be an extra burden because of the ACTUAL physical threat you pose. If it's just normal interaction, flirting, getting to know eachother in a relationship like normal people would, I don't see that as requiring any special effort, no.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/19 02:02 AM
3

Making a woman feel safe about you shouldn't really require much effort, unless you normally put off rapey-creepy vibes. And guys get hurt during sex too. Dicks and balls are delicate things. I would've argued that men are more often expected to be the more proactive partner in dating and sex, or that they're expected to remain stoic and suck up their vulnerabilities, lest the woman lose attraction. Those are the kinds of things I commonly hear on PPD.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/19 01:35 AM
3

But what you mentioned in the OP doesn't actually require effort (other than protecting her from OTHERS). I guess as far as what women traditionally do for men (apart from bearing their children) is providing emotional support and ego-bolstering, being the one they can let their guard down around when they can't among men. Those are the basics of what I've observed.

I'm confused, those don't really sound like "burdens" to me, other than maybe the "making her feel protected from outside threats" part. Not hurting a woman while you're fucking? Not making her afraid of you? Aren't those like... basic human interaction rules?

I DO believe if the sexual chemistry is great, you don't easily bore eachother, you're able to actively keep growing within the relationship, and you both equally value commitment, you won't have much to doubt. Honestly, I DON'T think it would take off the same way, just because women are not as sex-driven. The social status thing, idk. I don't think a sexbot partner would boost a man's social status either. Other than a way to show wealth, like an expensive car or watch or something. I guess it depends on if the bot is looked at as the person's luxury toy or the person's only option for intimacy.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/19 12:38 AM

Hell once they can make sexbots that complex, why would they stop at female only? That's ignoring a big chunk of the market. A man you can program to act out all your sexual fantasies, hold a good conversation, AND do all the household chores sounds amazing. And as a woman who never wanted to be pregnant, artificial womb +sperm donor isn't a bad idea either.

You forgot one element: the cuckoldry fetish essentially glorifies a behavior in women that, in ye olden days, would have been one of the worst crimes possible and potentially get her killed (and not without reason). But in reality, the men who want it are more focused on their own sexual gratification through this masochistic/submissive fantasy. It's not really glorifying anything about the woman, she's often just peripheral to the man's fetish.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/19 05:18 PM

... the problem with "cucking" (and the psychological root of why Red Pillers hate it) is that it is basically a man eroticizing his own inferiority to other men . To use feminist-inflected language, cucking is based in internalized misandry This seems similar to certain feminists who are anti-BDSM (as far as female subs go at least) -eroticizing the subjugation of women is disturbing to them because it mirrors real-life victimization but then turns it into something more socially acceptable. Your other example of a blackout drunk that couldn't remember would also be an example of sexual assault. It just seemed odd to me to use sexual assaults in the same context as whether to consider oral sex as sex. Male dominant, or "do-er" rather "done-to" just seems to be the default, whether vanilla or BDSM. I would guess it's because men have such a higher sex drive and because they're the ones that need to do the active penetrating for reproductive success. I loved that my hubby had barely any experience before me. It was a huge selling point honestly and actually a major turn on. Most of the dudes in my area at the time (late 80s) were fucking and chucking lots of girls and I almost passed on him because I thought he was one of them. If he'd been someone who'd used women for sex. ONS or leading a woman on and wasting her time to have steady sex, stuff like that, I wouldn't have gotten invested. That attitude would've disqualified him but because o…

Ahh, ok. That ick that other dude mentioned might not go away. I have a cousin in a relationship with a dude that found out she'd had several partners before him. No ONS but several STRs. She told him within the 1st few months and he initially wanted to dump her but she convinced him he'd get past it so he stayed. They were early 20s like you guys when they got together. Apparently, he never got over it and it's still a sore spot in their relationship ~10 years later. He's cheated on her and defe…

Just curious, why are you still with her if it's such a struggle? I only ask because everyone else who seems to have that reaction breaks it off.

I don't live among chimpanzees so that didn't factor into my thinking here. 'Less violent and dangerous than chimps' is still way too low a bar for me as an answer to the OP. Sure, the world in general seems to be less violent (in some first world countries at least)but most individual violence is still male and most wars are and have always been started by and fought by males. And since most men are killed by men and suffer at the hands of men, it's not just women who'd be safer. Or maybe I'd b…

I like how the longest thread seems to be changing the taste of cum... Idk more empathic and less violent overall? But yeah the cum thing too.

I'm a woman. As far as our society goes, men get validation from being able to fuck women. If he's only wanted for sex, he's succeeding at something other males respect. Women get more validation by being able to hold onto a quality male. If she's only good for a fuck, her source of validation among women AND men is negated. Not saying I like this, but it seems to still be a somewhat common standard.

Married to a 50 yr old man, we go at it 4-6 times a week when time allows. At this point, I think I'm the one who "needs" it more. Sometimes I really miss his teenage refractory period! Twice a week? I mean, there's no set rule, it's whether the two of you are satisfying eachother's needs. If you're too out of balance something's wrong.

Women might not know what every man could possibly be looking for, but they know enough to maximize their best physical attributes based on what most men find appealing -good waist to hip ratio, big tits, nice long legs, etc. You work what you have to get a foot in the door, so to speak. Now, if you're talking about women today actively advertising their bra size and bj skills, I'm just lost. Is this just Tinder and dating-app shit? (I'm old,was married before the internet was much of a thing) I…

In terms of the entertainment industry like the examples you cited, sex appeal and physical beauty are necessary for both sexes. Famous male celebs go to max out their sex appeal as much as possible, too, especially if their appearance is their biggest selling point. When your bread and butter is being hot, it's just smart business to take advantage of that. I count camgirls in this category, too. The sexier you look to the largest amount of people, the more money you earn. I doubt these people …

I'm trying to understand if hypergamy the way it's used here is trying to describe something genetic or something cultural. Marrying up for wealth and social status is how it's generally described, but RP seems to use it in a different way. Is it more the idea that each woman has a genetic predisposition to be most attracted to a man who displays specific genetic traits that are the best breeding mix with her? Best chances for healthy survivable offspring? Such as, one woman might pick a man who…

Is hypergamy supposed to be part of built-in female biology, meaning as much a part of being female as having XX chromosomes? I'm a little confused on whether the RP idea is that it's a set-in-stone, always- inherited female trait or just that it's been continuously culturally produced and reinforced because of the natural difficulties women faced in pre-modern societies due to being the child bearing and physically weaker sex.

No, seriously. If he's needing comfort or support I don't automatically go into climb-on-his-cock mode but I can make the transition pretty quickly if it's not grief or something serious. Feeling protective towards him doesn't turn me off. This thread is all over the place though.

I thought MGTOW was men just living their lives without worrying about romantic relationships with women. So by extension, I assumed WGTOW to be the same, just with women. According to the OP's intent. That was what I was addressing. No idea what female separatists as some political movement have to do with that. It's a silly idea.

It took my man a while before he was comfortable being vulnerable with me. Especially crying. He was raised with boys-don't-cry, etc. Once he realized I wasn't put off when he broke down over his dog about a year or so in, he slowly became more expressive and it's never been a negative. That he trusts me enough to be totally open means everything to me since with other people he's not like that at all.

I feel "mommy love" when my man needs serious comfort (meaning protective/nurturing I guess? -not a mom so never experienced literal mommy love!) but it's never negatively affected my sexual attraction to him.

Why wouldn't WGTOW be viable? Personally I know 5 older women (past 60) that have stayed single and seem perfectly fine with it. Lots of friends, have or had fulfilling careers, activities, travel, etc. and nieces and nephews if they feel like some voluntary mothering. Hopefully you don't try and steer her too hard in any one direction though.

Lol yeah, no. I've been trying to gently coax her off the old CC since it's clearly a waste of time. She's not even getting off and it's just making her bitter. Got her to come to her senses with the last dude who was clearly only looking for a pump and dump. I was actually pretty surprised that she took my advice.

She's never been diagnosed with anything but she's also not the type to go to a therapist so hard to say. She's always been against marriage and kids, as far as I know, and seems very sexual, has lots of sex toys, is into reading and watching porn, so she definitely CAN orgasm, just not with any of those guys, even though she finds them hot. I wish I understood what was in her head, too. She's intelligent and talented but seems to lack self awareness in a lot of ways and doesn't care to introspe…

One of my younger friends (mid 30s) has had ONS and STR with around 25 or so dudes and has never had an orgasm with any of them. She'd admitted it sort of by accident and I'd asked her about it because it sounded crazy to keep having so much shitty sex and I was curious how that could be. She's an opinionated loudmouth and very sexually forward so it kind of shocked me to hear that she faked orgasms with pretty much all of them. She seemed to back up some of what's been said here, that with ONS …

I'd never thought I was going to fall in love or get married. Had no examples in real life of a marriage or relationship I'd want. I'd had a few short term boyfriends that I'd dumped pretty quickly when I realized I wasn't feeling any real attraction. Had a few major crushes that never reciprocated. I was wondering if I even liked boys at some point. I knew it wasn't my hardware since I'd been getting myself off since around age 5. First date with my SO, that all went out the window. We clicked …

You have no interest in being your partner's best sex partner? I don't think it's useful to fret about bygone things or things that can't be changed, but I also can't imagine a sexual relationship with someone where there wasn't some desire and effort to be each other's best. I'd probably die inside if that was the case. I couldn't be with anyone I didn't want to impress. I'm with you on this. Unless it's a one-nighter or short term thing, why wouldn't you want to be the best for the other? Not …

We are definitely eachother's bests, but we hooked up in our late teens so that's not surprising. What I don't understand is why if the chemistry is right and the desire to please the partner is there (and the kinks aren't wildly incompatible) that you can't get to being the best eachother has had regardless. If you aren't trying to be your SO's best fuck and vice versa it seems like other stuff is wrong.

Yup there have been a couple of studies in the last few years that support this (that men bail more often on their sick wife). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19645027 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26315504

This seems like a YMMV kind of thing, but from what I've seen of successful marriages personally (granted these are very few, and also I'm over 50 so maybe different generation than most on here ) the man is more invested. In my own relationship, hubby did the pursuing initially (though I was smitten pretty damn fast) and I think it's worked out fine for us that he seems to need me more. Of course I would never put it that way to him, I'm not an asshole, and I AM in love with him. But the fact t…

Before the laws changed, married women did not have any legal right to it (they also couldn't enter into legal contracts on their own). If their husband chose to let her have "her own" money, he could, but it was at his discretion. The legal doctrine was called Coverture, it was based on English common law and the US inherited it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coverture

Married women lost the rights to their property and any outside wages they earned to their husbands until the 1830s when states began to pass laws to change that. At least in the US. In the UK I think it took until the 1880s if I recall correctly.

Since other women are responding anyway, I figured I would too. Apparently I've put those tactics to use on my hubby without realizing it, and can possibly credit them with changing our relationship for the better. Though the "dread" thing is not quite accurate -he recognizes I've always been liked by the other men in our lives and men in general, but he knows I would never leave him or cheat. We got together in our late teens and over the years (over 30 now), I became more assertive/confident (…
