I really don’t like this type of mindset that seems to be rampant on Reddit. For the majority of my life I was an awkward lanky guy with weak game, style, body, confidence, everything (except my height as I have been 6’2” since high school). So I understand I have a height advantage but that didn’t mean shit when shorter guys did (and still do) pull way more than I could. So in college I started working out, got my teeth fixed, got into a big social circle, dressing better, and actually tried ta…

If she’s attracted/interested in you, you can’t say anything wrong. If she’s not attracted/interested in you, you can’t say anything right. That being said, you still have to take the chance. I had no idea how these girls would react, but I had to try anyways. They both were very attractive and could easily have been super mean but they weren’t, so it’s always worth trying.

Great question. I did plan on asking her about the new city foundry that opened next to our grocery store, as we were walking out. As for the second girl, I’m not sure because she had her headphones in, so I may not have done anything except for smile and say hi and see how she reacts. I understand this is not “true” cold approach but you have to be prepared for things to come up and get into conversation. I did want to talk to these girls but I didn’t plan for these “events” to unfold so I had …

I agree with this right here. I got lucky in that something occurred for me to speak up that conversation. But I have approached other girls without an “event” and have done well (obviously it’s hit or miss). Being confident, sober, and unfazed really separates you from the pack.

Really insightful point. It seems true that a successful, attractive man really has all the power in the dating market. If he just wants sex, he can easily have that. If he wants relationship, he can have the pick of the litter, on his terms, and if he gets bored of her, he can go back out there and just have casual sex. The bottom 80% of guys are fighting for scraps, 95%+ of women are fighting over him (and guys like him), while he can just relax and date as he pleases.

For guys who play the field and can get laid, feminism, sex positivity, and anti-slut shaming has been one of the best things to happen. Women are encouraged to hook up and have their hoe phase. Which means easy, no-strings attached sex for the guys who can get it. Sure, if things don’t work out, it will be the guy’s fault (even if he is honest about his intentions) but there is no shortage of women to pursue for sex.

No, rejection is not something only men should experience. But the way women handle rejection tells you exactly what you need to know. Regarding your ex attacking you for not being in the mood, this is sadly very common, and something I have personally experienced as well. Part of this just comes from how women are raised. They are told to sit around and wait for the right guy, so they have no initiative to go out and pursue men they want. Like some others have said here, some women even conside…

Men view being called a fuckboy as a negative purely because of what it is associated with (think skinny dudes with perms and dangly cross earrings on TikTok) rather than the actions of fuckboys (hooking up with multiple girls).

That’s a fair point! Aside from the gym part, I really haven’t seen that here much. The majority of men would prefer a woman who works out versus one who does not.

Damn I never thought of it this way. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Like I’ve said in other comments, I don’t want to do this anymore. I want to spend time pursuing women who I genuinely attracted to, and not just for an easy lay. By not going for them, I’m missing out on feedback from them. Thanks.

Yeah I’m a bit surprised at the amount of people getting all touchy about this.

I’ve never lied to a girl about my intentions so I’m not sure where you got that from.

Why are they harder to pick up in your opinion? It’s not that they don’t come back for more, some do but I’m not that interested and have moved on to another one.

Yeah, those traits are very low on most men’s list of what they want in a woman. Most men want someone who is hot, not annoying, not a bitch. Education, money, and status is not relevant.

You nailed it. I don’t think women often look within themselves and ask: “am I the kind of woman a man wants to commit to?”

Do you think you would still have this fear if you worked full time and made a similar salary to him? I understand that your afraid of him messing up will ruin your family’s future, but this is part of the cost of being a SAHM. Remember, this is what you wanted. If you can’t trust your husband to provide and give him control, then you should reevaluate that decision. Is it worth it to be a SAHM if that comes with constant fear and control?

One of the best things you can do is to let him make more decisions and support them. In my last relationship my ex was very controlling and would not allow me to make any decisions. And if she did, no matter what I did was wrong and she had to come “fix” it, rather than just let me figure it out myself while she supports me. I believe this was one of the biggest killers of our relationship. There are few things that bother me and many other men as much as being scolded for our jobs/pay. It’s li…

Has he always been a quiet type, and prefers to keep things to himself? Maybe he is afraid of judgement from you for sharing his emotional problems and doesn’t want to feel like a burden. I was in a relationship with a girl who made it very clear she does not care to hear about any problems I am having. She had no interest in being my soft place. Needless to say we are not together anymore, because I don’t want to have to keep everything to myself in order to preserve our relationship. I think a…
