while the wage gap still exists when controlling for role, industry, and seniority, some of that can be explained away by your points. so, yes women and men get paid differently *for the same work.* however, that gap is usually small, so i want to focus on your other points. i think that there is another stage of wage gap 'wokeness' which is understanding the factors that go into why women on average earn less than men and why they exist and why they're still societal problems. the wage gap is s…

sure, but the question wasn't 'do women in general find it attractive when other people are attracted to a man?' it was asking individual women on ppd whether they personally found it attractive, they're speaking for themselves. so it's unfair to assume they're just not admitting it.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/21 11:56 PM
3

maybe women on ppd are just a different subset of women. have you considered that maybe women who seek out debate and critical analyses of relationships are maybe significantly different to women who don't? there are only 86 thousand people on this subreddit. i'll admit that when i'm already sort of interested in someone/haven't written them off, them being approached by different people makes me value them more.

do women not admit it? or do they?

no i hate your comment as well, you're misunderstanding me. i'm not defending you, it's a bad opinion and it is wrong. i am part of 'them.' i am also. a woman. i don't like sex with most people, i don't like sex that often, but i do like it. and if you don't believe that, that's fine. but that's a you problem.

yeah this is why i check in with people on basic political stuff like that before fucking them
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/21 09:37 AM

i actually think this is really strange to be able to do. how could you love someone if you thought that their ideal world would be a really awful world to live in? for example if i am pro trans rights, and my partner doesn’t think that trans women are women, that’s an entire group of people whose identities he does not find valid and who he doesn’t respect. regardless of if whether i’m right or he’s right, that difference can’t be reconciled.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/21 09:36 AM

i would never date a conservative, and i am also a young woman. it’s not because i’m not interested in hearing different viewpoints, it’s because i’ve heard them and unless he’s got some new and engaging reasoning for his beliefs, it’s just not happening. it’s boring, and tiring to constantly argue with someone who fundamentally does not share your same values. if i believe that capitalism is exploitation, and he believes that corporations need less interference from the government, regardless o…

a liberal is generally someone who is pro free market, pro capitalism. a progressive isn’t necessarily anti capitalism, but those two are not the same. also, to be very clear about that sub, it is shitting on biden, obama, whatever, because they are not leftist enough. the people of that subreddit criticise them for being part of the establishment and not pushing for bigger change. they believe the democratic and republican parties are at their core, the same. they don’t think any meaningful cha…

i’m not a fan of liberals. i’m confused as to how that’s not compatible w modern womanhood. also the words liberal and progressive are not interchangeable, they’re used that way in north america. i am a progressive, not a liberal. if you actually take a look at r/ShitLiberalsSay you’ll see it’s a leftist sub.

if a dude doesn't want to open up to me within 3-4 months of dating, i am outtie. i've been very glad that i didn't date someone for an extended period of time in retrospect. this is when think about the people i have come close to dating or have dated briefly who have been emotionally unavailable, not open, that kind of thing.

if 'mind reading' is thinking that threatening someone in order for them to have sex with you results in consensual sex then, god, everyone must be a mind reader.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/20 05:04 PM
2

that’s not regret lmao, that is literally sex without consent. if someone holds a gun to your head and says, “have sex with me or i’ll shoot you,” and you say “fine” the sex that ensues is not consensual. that wouldn’t hold up in court. consent is given not under duress. threatening suicide is duress. you don’t have to be a feminist to see this lmao

/r/PurplePillDebate26/11/20 03:29 AM

the examples you gave aren't rape other than the drunk one, where consent is significantly more muddy. rape/sexual assault is sexual activity without consent given freely. if someone holds a gun to your head and tells you that you either have sex with them or you die, and you say 'okay,' that's rape. you gave consent, but the consent was given under duress. it doesn't even have to be that extreme, if someone threatens to leak your nudes, threatens to physically harm you, threatens to kick you ou…

if one my friends told me that i had to fuck him or he’d kill himself, that’s not a friend. it’s manipulative, and the sex we have would be rape.

i consider myself pretty empathetic, but i understand and support a woman who refuses to be empathetic to people who think she owes them sex because she has a vagina.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/20 08:53 PM
0

if it works for you, it works for you. and if it works for her, then that's great too. i prefer when my partner uses me as a significant part of their support network.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/20 10:57 PM
0

i mean, if you want to, that’s fine. i would just be uncomfortable because part of the reason i’m in a relationship is to support the other person. do you want your girlfriend to control herself around you and not vent because it’s unfair to you?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/20 08:33 PM
0

it depends on whether you mind or not. i would mind, and while it might not be The Reason i break up with someone, it could be one of them. but if i know that he’s not emotionally available early on, the odds are not in his favor.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/20 08:32 PM
3

it's probably because it's somewhat true. as far as i've found in my 5 minutes of googling, the consensus is that venting is helpful some of the time, and other methods of pacifying anger are more helpful the rest of the time. so it's not as clear cut or black and white as 'venting is bad' or 'venting is good.'
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/20 02:26 PM
5

yeah i'm wondering the same thing. when dudes tell me they don't cry, or they don't get upset or angry, i always perceive them as somewhat fake. if i knew my partner was doing it on purpose, hiding it from me, i would be very upset. moreso at myself than him, i would feel like i'd failed as a partner because my long term, live in boyfriend, doesn't trust me enough to be vulnerable and ask for help.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/20 02:23 PM
2

you're right that i want my partner to be able to empathise with me, but still with potential partners it makes me a little uncomfortable when someone says "i haven't cried in five years," or "i never get upset or angry really." i can't articulate exactly why, i just don't want to feel like i'm talking to a wall or someone performing happiness or neutrality.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/20 02:20 PM

right, so we're on the same page here. i wrote out a day in the life of a good mother + wife + businesswoman. what i'm saying is, it is very difficult if not impossible.

i am not a mother but i can confirm mothers are awesome.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/20 03:55 PM

that's really not what you said, "if i'm passionate about something then i'd follow my dreams and pursue a career in it but i'd try to be a good wife and mother regardless" what i read is, i will either have a career and be a mother or only be a mother.

there's a reason a very very very small number of women are rich models, actresses or pop stars. it's a lot of luck, and a lot of work. also models don't even make that much.

all of it? maybe it's just me, but i don't think i have the energy or willpower to hold down a full time job in a competitive field, be a very present + good mother, and work out at least 3 times a week, while cooking the majority of my own meals + my kids' meals because typically takeout is not as healthy as a homecooked meal. it sounds exhausting and it doesn't sound viable even if you were the peppiest person in the world. let's say you work a 9-5. you have to get up at 7:45 latest to get rea…

okay, but the original point you were trying to make was that these women who sleep with a different dude once every two years are riding the cc. i have to imagine that would rule out almost every single woman except the ones who marry young.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/20 11:34 AM
1

how am i making it sound like that? i obviously don’t feel that way. people fall out of love, thy stop being compatible, whatever it is. relationships end. you’re making it sound like dating someone and then breaking up with them after several years of believing that they were endgame for you is unreasonable.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/20 11:21 AM
2

this is. this is just dating. this is just a woman trying to find a suitable partner. i'm confused as to how we can ever hope to be in a long term relationship when we're not allowed to date people for several years at a time in hopes they become a long term relationship???

if you subscribe to purely utilitarianism then there is literally no reason to not be a dick. except that being a dick takes extra effort than being just neutral. also, if you treat others with kindness and respect, then they will be more likely to do the same. if you are not interested in that, then be my guest. be a dick. however, and i know this may be surprising, people are nice to other people just because! they don't need a reason really. i am kind to people who are not conventionally attr…

i can understand some frustrated+upset tears over that but not full on sobbing? i mean, unless it was a goal he had worked towards for a very long time, and he wouldn't have another chance at it for quite a while. more context is necessary.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/20 08:47 PM
10

yes. i firmly believe in the idea of equal partnership, we protect each other, each person has their strengths. i would be truly so so disgusted with myself if i ever gave a hint to my partner that i was not interested in fully supporting him emotionally through anything, even tears. or that he would be somehow lesser in my eyes if he showed any vulnerability. i don't date men who are not emotionally vulnerable. like someone else said, that means that they don't trust you. and i'm not interested…

honestly i feel like if you're having a kid just to give your life meaning, you might want to reconsider having a kid. i'm not sure that people who don't have anything else rewarding going on/anything else in their life giving it meaning should have children.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/20 12:48 PM
1

why is it that you have that policy?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/20 02:46 PM
2

that's valid. i honestly don't really understand why some people are so confused that other people may have different relationship 'contracts.' cheating is breaking the contract. i don't mean to sound so clinical, but kissing someone else may not be in the contract for some people, while for others it would be a dealbreaker. whatever works for you.

i'm so fucking tired of people reducing women down to the number of people they've slept with as if it makes them morally bankrupt or something. you don't know her. she could be a really really lovely person. a lot of sex workers i know are very generous, empathetic people. you kind of have to be. maybe he married her because i don't know, she has a great personality? she's attractive? he loves and cares about her?

depression and anxiety, as well as other mental illnesses are not one time things for most people. you can get treated, but if you're asking if they should 'take a break' then they'd be on that break their entire lives. people are allowed to have baggage in relationships. i think it's becoming more accepted that men have mental illnesses, and i think it's generally accepted for women to have mental illnesses. i'm upfront about it, and it hasn't bothered anyone so far.

russell brand is very likeable to me honestly. and he is a little verbose but he doesn't take himself that seriously, he's always making little jokes about himself. and he's not precisely verbose if that makes sense, he's kind of a rambler. he is definitely able to get his ideas across, but it's just more lighthearted than my man 'cinema' here.

i don't have beef with dudes who speak 'elegantly.' the first sentence was fine, charming little cafe. that's so cute! really cosy feels. but i think the usage of 'must' is a little strange and strangely formal. 'perhaps' is not bad but when combined with 'cinema,' my brain lapsed into a very formal british accent. i feel like it would make me uncomfortable because i would feel as if i couldn't be myself or let my hair down around this dude. sure, man 1 isn't really a charmer either, and i actua…

i'm in a dominant female relationship right now. i'm dominant in most aspects of our relationship, decision making, sexually, financially we're pretty equal. i don't think that i could be in a relationship where i have to 'fully submit to my feminine being.' i'm having fun, and i'm sure there are plenty of couples it works for. people do tend to be more dominant or submissive, and there are plenty of submissive men as well as dominant women. those people aren't staying virgins forever.

ppl who have rimjob steve-y names are serious on occasion. i don't like to make assumptions. i'm not saying we'll last forever, it's very unlikely. we're young, i'm an idiot, things like that. 2 years is by no means long but it's long enough to know that someone has differing sexual needs than you, and still continue dating them regardless of that because relationships are more than sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/20 12:43 PM

that’s ridiculous. masturbating is fine with me. and it is one facet of our relationship. i’m surprised that you think that you can predict the end of my two year relationship because of two sentences i wrote on an internet forum.

oh no. i really enjoy trash movies that generally are uncomplicated. i very rarely enjoy 'good movies' because when i want to turn my brain off, i watch movies. i just want to be satisfied with some tension, some plot buildup, and then an ending that relieves that tension. if i want to be mentally stimulated i'd watch some politically charged youtube content of ppl being angry at each other or i'd read a book or something.

i mean, isn't what i said considered baggage? i don't know what you are trying to argue against here even, i literally agree with you? i said in my reply to you that i was mostly talking about men. i was trying to explain how i personally saw it as a woman or the drawbacks of crying as a woman. you asked me what it 'took' to cry as a woman, i told you a reason why women don't cry in front of men. i do not deny that women most probably do not understand emasculation, after all, they are not men. …

i mean, i'm not just talking about me, i was mostly talking about men. but also, women are not invulnerable creatures. while i understand that society as a whole is more likely to comfort a woman than a man, i definitely know that my friends have some issues opening up to their boyfriends about emotional issues because they're afraid to turn them off and be perceived as emotional and crazy.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/20 04:41 PM
1

that’s not my point. i’m saying that the fact that it’s destructive is a negative. it gets stuff done, but rarely the right thing. crying is pretty much always neutral, it doesn’t get much done, but that also means it doesn’t destroy anything. anger does.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/20 12:41 PM

i just don't think it's that simple. anger can do a lot of damage. i think both are equally unproductive.

interesting. i don't think i could sympathise with that particular opinion. i feel for people when they cry. usually it's from a very high stress situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/20 11:18 AM
1

how is it weak? while i understand that the answer may be obvious, i think it takes a lot to be vulnerable like that. anger is not vulnerable. i personally prefer crying. it's easier for me to talk people down from crying than from anger, so it's a lot easier to start communicating normally.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/20 11:11 AM
2

i highly prefer crying over anger. people being angry really really stresses me out, it makes me very very anxious, and it makes me want to distance myself from that person to feel safe. unless it's irritability or just being a little annoyed at something, but they're able to laugh it off and have a normal conversation with me. people who are crying or angry are usually a little worse to talk to, it's harder to get through to them, it's harder to communicate with them. i do find it easier to dea…

that's interesting. i will honestly be reviewing my stance on sex work. there are definite physical risks with prostitution, and there are risks in coal mining. however, i think that while they're not the same, i think that they're comparable. i do think that bringing up the preferences for body type or sexual services is a good point though. when you hire a coal miner you're not discriminating based off of anything except their ability to do their job. but i suppose you could say that about sex…

also i think ‘women can’t be friends with each other’ is just a flat out lie, even if only using this study as a reference. the study suggests that female friendships are more fragile, women experience more emotional turmoil when considering the termination of a friendship, they have shorter friendships on average, their friendships are more intimate than same sex male friendships, and they typically have had more ex female friends than males. none of this actually suggests that women can’t be f…

i am equating those things, while you make a good point w the sperm donor thing, there's a clear expectation there for some level of anonymity. this is different. he had sex with a girl, possibly unprotected, and she got pregnant and now he has a child. the sperm donor doesn't have to pay child support. what feelings am i ascribing to him? i think it's clear he doesn't care about the kid.

that's fair enough, however, i've said in another one of my comments that i still think he's a parent, he's not obligated to be there, no one is obligated to do anything. i still think he should be part of his kid's life though. another issue is that although it's a ding to his value that he's a father so young, he's a huge gigantic overlooked issue that he's being so selfish about it. the issue isn't the child anymore, it's that in every single one of his comments, in his post, it's clear that …

like most women have mentioned, it's a little ding to his value that he's a dad at such a young age, but it is a massive car wreck that he's being so flippant and selfish. his value isn't low because he's a father. his value is low because he's perfectly fine with fucking up a kid's life so that he can seem more dateable. and that's exactly what makes him undateable.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 12:50 AM
1

in the legal sense, sure, but he's always going to be a parent, whether or not the mother marries, whether another person is appointed as a parental figure, even if his kid dies.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 12:47 AM

to be fair, he's given enough information for people to give him advice that will benefit him the most.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 12:46 AM

i mentioned in my comment that my advice wasn't for him. it's very clear that it's for his child. depending on what you mean by parent, he's a parent. he is the biological father, if someone adopts his child that doesn't suddenly make him not a parent, in the same way that i think that if you choose to marry a significant other with a child, that makes you a parent.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 12:39 AM

that doesn't say that he had no input in the pregnancy. it only says that he isn't involved in his son's life, he wanted to be a little but, but because it's proved a problem in his dating life he's willing to cut him off. also, he's having trouble paying child support.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 12:36 AM
2

while i understand that, i mentioned it in my comment actually, "not because it's bad for OP," i still think it's generally crappy advice. other people in this thread have mentioned this, but if i was in my late twenties, a dude with a kid isn't a deal breaker, what would be a deal breaker is if he cut off his kid in an effort to be dateable.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 12:34 AM
2

that's my main issue with this post. i feel like there's no care or emotional attachment to his child, he's only concerned about getting his dick wet.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 12:31 AM
1

i'm not sure where in the op it stated that the mother unilaterally chose to have the child on her own.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/20 12:28 AM
2

i'm not saying that what she's doing is right, i think it's petty and vindictive and crappy. but i also think that he, like he said in the post, should stick to his original plan of at least partially being in his kid's life.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/20 11:07 PM
11

yeah i think this is bad advice. not because it's bad for op, but bad for his literal child. sure, he can send the check and pretend he doesn't exist and cut himself off and it would probably be better for getting his dick wet but he would be a selfish prick. he's a parent. like it or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/20 02:48 PM

honestly i understand where you're coming from and i mostly agree. i just think that it should be more common for dating to be less sexual and more romantic or even platonic if that makes sense. sleeping together/sleeping over at someone's house is a super lovely, bonding activity, sex or no sex. it's intimate in a way that is really helpful if you're actually interested in starting a relationship with someone. it's unfortunate that it's so related to sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/20 06:12 AM

yeah regret sex is not the same as non consensual sex. i think we've covered this.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/20 06:09 AM
2

it's not consent to sex. consent to sex is consent to sex. sure, sex is on the table, it's probably expected, but expectation is not the same as consent. for example, if a couple has a date night every wednesday, and usually go home and have sex, 80% of the time, it's expected after dinner that they'll have sex but there's still that 20% of the time that someone isn't interested.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/01/20 06:03 AM
3

i don’t really have an issue with anything consenting adults want to do. my problem is with preexisting power imbalances. if a parent and a child have a sexual relationship, even if the child is an adult, it raises a lot of red flags about the parent. same with my issue with very large age gaps/wealth gaps. not wrong, just weird and a little iffy. also of course genetics is another argument. however, unless it’s more than a generation of inbreeding, it’s not THAT bad but i mean it’s not great.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/20 09:01 PM
2

i’m pretty much ok with consenting adults doing whatever the fuck they want to do. my main issue with it is preexisting power imbalances. obviously i’m not going to try to stop anyone, but if a parent and a child have a sexual relationship even if the child is fully grown up, that raises a lot of red flags about the parent. it’s similar to how i feel about large age gaps. not wrong. kind of weird.

you're right, i said i talk to my female friends about music and art. it's sometimes the art that i make, it's sometimes the art other people make. same thing with music. i don't understand your point here?

i know where you're coming from. i see this discrepancy between my boyfriend and i as well. he likes thought provoking, intense movies, and when i watch a movie, i'm looking for something light and easy to digest. it's not that i'm incapable of enjoying thought provoking, intense movies, it's just that most of the time when i watch a movie, it's at the end of a long day, or it's on one of my holidays off in a while. i'm just mainly interested in turning my brain off and letting the movie do the …

i've kind of seen that women and men are equally hesitant to get down and dirty with their feelings. usually men because they aren't aware of the little nuances in their experiences/emotions or my experiences/emotions, and women because they're afraid of being vulnerable although they are aware of all their emotions and probably the root of them. i personally do really really like getting immediately very very personal. being vulnerable and nervous is kind of fun! it's like a rollercoaster excep…

this comment was honestly really interesting to read. i can't say whether or not the women you met are actually uninteresting, but my issue with most people is that they don't respond well to leading questions. i have a lot of people who i actively take a platonic interest in, and i probe them about the thing that i'm interested in, and most people aren't really interested in carrying on a conversation, or they just can't? they answer and then they stop. no questions back, no give and take. so i…

this is certainly a stance. i just wanted to comment on the debate/discussion thing. when my boyfriend and i are discussing any hot topic issue it kind of always devolves into an argument because in my eyes, he’s ‘debating’ me. he’s not acknowledging my points, he’s kind of just telling me his opinion if and only if it doesn’t align with mine. anything we agree on is just pushed aside so we can discuss things we don’t agree on. it’s so incredibly frustrating.

honestly, i haven’t thought about how true this is. every ‘popular’ girl at any of my schools had a rockin personality. she was pretty, confident, and mainly really really funny. she was just super enjoyable to be around.

i think that makes sense. i don’t think i intentionally engage men i’m uninterested in in boring surface level stuff but i mean. that kind of thing takes less energy to talk about, and if i don’t find you interesting, why would i think that anything you have to say about something substantial is interesting? you know what i mean?

actually, most of the men i know who are interested in history are interested in pretty recent history, specifically ww1 and ww2.

history is a broad subject, perhaps they're not interested in the same geographical locations/time periods? like, history really does not interest me that much, but i am happy to listen to my best friend rant about monarchies and central asian history because i love her. it's not a courtesy thing, it's just that i'm interested in who she is as a person, and by proxy i am interested in the countless number of queens named elizabeth.

this wasn't really about whether women hate talking to other women or not, i'm sorry if that was unclear, it was kind of an open ended question as to why some people have the opinion that women are just... empty people without real interests? i mean, are you friends with women? do you have women in your life you spend time with a couple times a month, strictly platonic? do you only talk to her about makeup, nails, shoes, clothes, and cooking recipes? or is she capable of more than that? also, li…

this totally makes sense to me, and this might explain the majority of this. however, in ltrs, at least in my experience, you do end up having very involved discussions about particularly passionate topics, no? a trend i see in mgtow is that they actually have been in committed, long term relationships, not like they don't have any experience, so i guess it's still a mystery to me how they could feel as though the entirety of women could be so shallow.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/19 01:19 PM

i brought those up because they seem to be the uhhh 'valid' interests that men can have that women just don't. but yeah, no, it gets boring, i'm not really interested in history but my best friend is kind of a history nerd, specifically abt central asian history and monarchial nonsense, so i listen.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/19 07:27 AM
3

i wasn’t talking about the kissing, that’s very obviously gay, i’m talking about the original thing you called probably lesbianism. which was women talking about attractive men with other women. my question was, how is that lesbian? it’s literally the opposite of lesbian? they’re talking about hot guys?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/19 07:12 AM

... okay lol. seems like a foolproof argument. i personally like a specific type of dude, not buff, more skinny, femme, and i would probably give him more leeway to be a dick if i found him very very attractive but i do draw the line somewhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/11/19 07:00 AM

uh yeah i can say that things are gay without saying the people doing those things are gay, but, how in the hell does discussing heterosexual attraction with your friends seem gay to you??

because women do in fact give a shit about personality. everyone has a type, most women’s type is a buff strong dude, masculine, confident. however, if he’s a fucking douche, some women might go for him, but the ones who know what they want out of a man who won’t compromise for a shitty boyfriend won’t.

i disagree. relationships in the past, marriages in the past, were not based on 'love.' that is a fairly new phenomenon. it was a political+religious institution, done for exchanges of power and provided sort of a 'treaty' for countries. before that, the reason people got married is because women are good at giving birth and taking care of children. men are good at making money and providing/protecting his wife and children. or so the story goes. i think today that support is actually getting mu…

i think that 'bad at communicating feelings' has a connotation of being unable to communicate their feelings. i think they simply choose not to put themselves out there like that to make themselves vulnerable, and want the man to be the one to make himself vulnerable by asking them out. i am a big proponent for clear direct communication both ways. tell the dude you think he's cute, ask him out for coffee, get what you want.

i'm not going to argue that anything is necessarily 'wrong.' morality is so subjective that such an argument in my mind is entirely useless. murder isn't wrong. most people don't like it when innocent people get murdered so it's against the law to murder people. yeah i know. that's why i make that effort. i think it's really sad that this is just how it is and i wish it were different. i don't have a lot of experience with western families at all but in my family i would say that men are appreciated a significant amount for the 'manly' work they do. like it's acknowledged, and the work that women do is often less acknowledged because it's just part of being a woman.

i think you missed the point of the comic. everyone who commented 'just ask' completely missed the point. the whole point is that the women in this comic feel like they always have to ask, that they are the delegator. it's tiring because you have to ask him to do every little thing instead of him being proactive and just doing it without being asked. that is part of 'the mental load.' making a routine to split the workload fairly is a good idea. what do you mean what if it was the other way arou…

this seems like an unproductive stance. i find that discounting other people's experiences is ineffective and doesn't lead to any solutions. this was big enough of an issue to the person who created to the cartoon, and she had had enough anecdotal evidence that it was an experience a lot of women shared that she made it a comic. just saying that all those women are inept, every single one of the women who commented about their personal experience here, are just inept and complaining about nothin…

totally, and i do! i call the mental load, small household tasks, driving, navigating emotional situations like grief, and being expected to always be the rock, invisible work. work that’s often taken for granted and left unappreciated
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/19 02:06 PM

lmao i guess that is a fair point. i’m just going to choose someone who will proactively do dishes tbh. i really dislike housework. reminds me of that dude i dated who really sucked as a person but would happily do all the housework excluding dishes. ah. if only he wasn’t such a sweaty ballsack of a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/19 01:28 PM

your comment is one i totally sympathize with. it’s a fair critique. i do think though that if this is something a significant number of women face compared to men, that it unfortunately is a slightly gendered thing. of course, everyone does work that is invisible and often taken for granted and i do think that this is something to spark conversation about that kind of invisible work done by both women and men.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/19 06:43 AM

i think that you might have missed the point. the issue isn’t that the comic brings up isn’t that men don’t help, they do, but some are not proactive about it. i the issue that the comic brings up is that a significant number of women feel as though they are always delegating responsibilities otherwise they’ll have to do them themselves. like, yes, he’ll do the dishes but he won’t do it unless i ask him, and if he does he’ll only do the dishes and he won’t put the dishes that are already dry bac…

yeah that's understandable. in my personal experience this has been true but i'm mainly around young men who really couldn't give less of a fuck about certain things. in my family however it's a different story. the men care a lot about presentation. this is a valid complaint. i get it. of course not, there's no value judgment. it's hard. however you mentioned household duties and i felt as though it was appropriate to bring time in as a factor.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/19 05:29 AM
2

men never agreed with this en masse. and i suppose it's my fault for assuming, but i do think that the majority of men in developed countries who work the same amount of hours as their female partners think that in theory household duties should be split evenly. i mean, i would hope so at least. i'm pretty sure that that's what is accepted and expected. 'if you do the same amount of work outside the home. you should do the same amount inside the home.'

that's a comment other people have left as well. they prefer doing these things over their partners. more power to you, and same! it's just an issue when that work isn't recognised or they are just expected to by default.

i never said that it should be a competition. in fact, i specifically said it wasn't the oppression olympics, and i don't think that it should be. men and women face different social and legal issues. so why not talk about them? i can agree with your gripe with the 'feeling' of things. it's hard to quantify something like this. it's obviously up to individuals and couples to tell what is the truth about their situation. my boyfriend would agree that he doesn't proactively plan outings, events, d…

just because i said something isn’t a complaint doesn’t mean it’s not a reality as well. this comic is a complaint. i don’t think this comic is making men out to be an ‘abuser.’ also, i think those are issues that should have been touched on in this comic. maybe not in specifics, after all, one comic isn’t going to be able to address all the world’s problems.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/19 05:02 AM

understandable. this is the case a lot of the time, isn’t it? women will usually spend sahms until their child is 3 or so. that unemployed phase doesn’t reflect well in their resume though.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/19 04:55 AM

i think that that’s a valid complaint. men often do ‘invisible’ work as well. although, i do think that if this is a pervasive issue that women have, these comics do a good job of explaining this issue.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/19 04:47 AM
5

well, yes. if both people work full time, shouldn’t they take on household duties equally? being a sahm, this comes with the territory. of course you’re going to know when the baby needs more diapers, that’s part of your job. however shouldn’t it be different for full time working moms?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/19 04:45 AM

i know where you’re coming from! i take on the mental load naturally as well. it doesn’t take a lot for me to be happy and okay with that. some appreciation that i went out of my way or remembered to do something is always nice. the issue with that is that often it’s taken for granted and i believe that’s part of the mental load. no one knows that it’s happening.

i’d say the main reason the birth rate in china is so low is because of the one child policy that was in effect for several decades. several hundred thousand people were forcibly sterilized, children were forcibly aborted, families were fined for having more than 1 child.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/11/19 12:44 PM

there are so many factors that contribute to the lower birth rates in developed nations. there’s a growing awareness about birth control methods, it’s most likely that universal healthcare exists, therefore creating an environment where women can safely terminate pregnancies. in developing countries, it’s most likely that the main source of income for a lot of families is a family business, a farm or something like that. and children can do some of the simpler, less intensive labor. of course th…

i mean yeah sometimes they don’t but most people especially as they get older learn more about themselves and i don’t think women are trying to deceive people on purpose. no one knows what they want all the time, and that’s fine, but i think it’s counter productive to shit on women on the internet who are telling the truth about their personal experiences just because they don’t align with yours.

you don’t even know the reason dude. you’re assuming that it’s that reason when maybe she just dislikes you. if you want to clarify, i would go ahead, but i wouldn’t expect a reply back.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/19 06:31 AM
11

it literally doesn’t matter what the reason is. she didn’t blame you for anything. and she’s not obligated to keep seeing you. i don’t see the issue here. yeah, it sucks, but even if she did regret things, she’s allowed to do that and also not keep seeing you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/19 06:17 AM
10

she didn’t ever even say it was your fault? nothing about this seems like she consented to it and then acted like it was your fault you fingered her. sounds like she’s just not that into you and she’s not going to want to keep seeing you. it doesn’t mean you did something wrong, you seem to be coming to the wrong conclusion here.

describing my personal behaviour? probably like 15% accurate. the red pill is rooted in truth, women are attracted to confidence, women are attracted to masculine physical strength, women are attracted to ambition, drive and maturity. of course they're attracted to these things, usually they're good traits to have in a partner! but there is little to no nuance in this, and it completely over generalises 3.5 billion people. i like confidence and when men are very accomplished in a difficult field…

all good! i find it’s easier to get other people to understand/appreciate where i’m coming from if i use a more neutral/light tone. we’re not arguing to become more deeply entrenched in our own personal beliefs, and i feel like a lot of times that ends up being what happens.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/19 09:55 AM

i know, i’m not advocating against telling your partner your wants and needs. i’m just explaining why someone might find it difficult. again, i think it’s hard to distinguish exactly why you’re feeling negative about someone trying to help you. they’re trying to help you! i don’t really understand the issue you’re having with what i’m saying, it seems to me that we’re on the same page about this. i said that i also thought it was important to communicate.

i know, and i think that it’s difficult to verbalize exactly what’s wrong and why you’re unhappy with what your partner is saying or why you would want them to say something else. it especially is hard because it seems like kind of a dicky thing to say, ‘i’m telling you my problems but i don’t want you to help me and honestly it really bothers me.’ like that sucks to hear a little bit. it seems like it would be the right course of action, and yet it’s not. if your partner asks directly though, i…

i honestly don’t know a lot of dudes who say that it’s very easy to get laid, except the ones who aren’t straight. they have an easier time. but yeah, most dudes say that it’s really hard to have casual sex with women, and honestly not many of my friends are into fucking someone and having that be the single relationship they have with that person. they usually are at least friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/19 07:40 AM
3

i’m guessing the mods flaired your post. it means change my view. i don’t doubt that getting laid is harder than the male population let’s on, that’s not my issue with this. maybe 4%, but i’m not sure. women get hit on all the time and most of these advances were not in a context that it would be well received, ie on a date, out with mutual friends, appropriate social event.

i’m just upset that you’re trying to pass it off as reasonably accurate when it’s very very unlikely it’s not. i commented because it was a CMV and i disagreed with your view. and no, it’s not, i’m not a very self portrait-y person, why?

LMAO honestly that's the first time anyone has called me a dude on the internet. let me dm u my paypal. i don't doubt men lie about how many women they've slept with. but to do this much math with statistics that don't have any basis except for anecdotal experiences, is ridiculous. if you're so inclined to go through my comment/post history, you'd know i'm not a dude. regardless of my gender, this is bad math and it's unreliable.

just because raising children is easier today than 50 years ago doesn't mean that it's by any means easy. with these quality of life increases, we also have stricter laws and regulations concerning childcare. a lot of things have become illegal that wouldn't have been 50 years ago. also, the standards for a 'good parent' are much different. i'm not saying it's easier or harder, just that raising children is notoriously difficult. it's emotionally draining. you have to make all these decisions fo…

totally, i think this is a secret that most people just have to learn. a lot of times my partner will jump in and offer a reasonable conclusion or offer a solution when i’m really just looking for someone to say ‘’wow he was being a huge douche” or “yeah traffic sucks” or “i know how stressful deadlines can be.” i understand how to solve my problem! i just need you to be my cheerleader for a little bit so i can feel heard. when someone is already upset, giving them a solution is helpful in theor…

i'm assuming this isn't satire. marriage is a partnership, any relationship is a partnership. so i think when women say that they don't want to be a mother to their partner, they're saying they don't want to have to pick up after their partner, nag them to get their socks off the floor, do all the housework (if they are also working full time.) this list sounds honestly incredibly selfish and it sounds like whoever would abide by this list religiously would be an awful partner. Not supporting …

i don't doubt that a certain amount of women would like men to be forward, even aggressive, and not take no for an answer. unfortunately though, that doesn't mean that it would apply to all women, or even most women. even if most women wanted an aggressive pursuit, you wouldn't be justified in just barreling ahead. i've said it before and i'll say it again. rapists don't think they're bad people, no one likes to acknowledge fault or blame. if you can just justify to yourself that what you did to…

pestering someone over and over and over for sex is coercion. you're not going to take no for an answer, why even bother asking? if you're going to ask and ask and ask until she says yes, that's rape. she's not having sex with you because she wants to, she's having sex with you because she wants you to stop asking or pressuring her. there is a way to 'make the first move' without pressuring someone into sex.

i like men, not huge on penetration. just not rly a bottom. boys are cool and pretty but i don’t really enjoy having their dicks in me. i’m into it in theory, but it’s just not that great unfortunately. i’m assuming you mean that women are much more similar to each other than men are to each other. i think it really depends on what you consider similar or dissimilar. humans mostly are vastly similar. most men are vastly similar. just putting it out there doesn’t make it true. different personali…

honestly, as much as i am anti-rape, it’s an incredibly traumatizing process. so when i hear that someone has been sexually assaulted, i do suggest that they report it, especially if they’re in a country where law enforcement is trained to deal with survivors of sexual abuse. that’s why i try not to push it too hard, it’s not a survivors personal duty to report their rapist, go through an intense, very invasive line of questioning, have to face him again in court. even if it means that someone e…

/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/19 04:40 PM

i mean yeah, that’s fair enough, sexual assault convictions are very very difficult to prove or provide evidence for. especially if it’s been more than a couple of months, weeks, sometimes days. of course that’s a whole lot of reasons not to tell the cops, if it was one, i might have done it, but it was a lot. it just wasn’t worth it. i knew the police route wasn’t going to go anywhere, why would i pursue it?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/19 03:19 PM
1

personally didn’t report to the police because i was advised against it by a sexual assault centre i went to, the country i lived in at the time were very unequipped to handle sexual assault allegations, especially ones that had happened a few years prior. centre didn’t think that reliving the trauma would be healthy or worth it since nothing would probably happen, for me at the time, since it was the first time o had spoken to adults about it. i was thirteen. reported it to the school, they did…

i think the issue isn't that debt exists, of course it exists, people don't complain about mortgages. but the issue is that america has the most expensive tuition out of all oecds. university/college/post secondary education in general is close to essential to be competitive in the job market. but you're essentially signing up for years of debt, when it doesn't have to be that way. student debt isn't the issue, it's close to unavoidable, but predatory loan companies, the fact that minimum wage h…

honestly, i really feel for those men. i don't necessarily understand their struggle, but i do sympathise. it can just be really hard to have an open dialogue about fixing their issues when their mindset is so toxic, towards themselves, toward women, towards other men, towards other incels, toward everyone. they just seem so unhappy.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/19 02:20 PM

that's fair enough, although even from her point of view, it seems that she's not 'getting' anything from the relationship. just validation. he doesn't appreciate her cooking, doesn't put effort into his appearance, uses her like a dead body for sex, abuses her face with his dick. i mean obviously this is an exaggeration, but you know what i'm getting at. she's not happy on her own. i don't think anyone should need anyone else to be okay with just Being.

i think that it's difficult to humanise women when they seem so unreachable. coming from a mindset like that, it can be really easy to make up half baked truths about them and then extrapolating and extrapolating and extrapolating. it doesn't help that a whole entire group has already made what's essentially a lore about human sexuality in the modern dating world.

i think the only issue a feminist or anyone would take with this is that it's really damaging to constantly have to beg for validation from your partner. the pick me is trying to differentiate herself from other women/feminists not because she doesn't actually believe what they're saying, but because she wants to be different, to be worthy of a partner. honestly it's the first time i've seen a pick me, so i might be wrong, but i think the main issue is that she's not self fulfilled. she seems sa…
