Yes good post, I have been trying to cut it out for the reasons you've stated above. Its hard though when I've pretty much grown up watching it since I was 13 or so. What sort of things have you done to stop yourself? I used to watch every day, now its sometimes once a week or so.

That's not an option for me. I may want to have children when I'm older. Plus there's the risk of getting chronic pain from the operation

Thanks for your comment, yeah I too want to go travelling and don't want to risk it. I'm fine with not having sex, sometimes I'll really want it but porn usually does the trick. I'm at uni at the moment so just want to focus on my course. I do get quite a lot of pressure from my mates though, and i must admit there is a bit of a culture around proving your a man by sleeping with as many women as you can. I just don't but into that but they just don't get where I'm coming from.

While that % is minuscule, it still scares me to the point where I'd rather not have sex. 0.15. About once every 1000 times when ever 2 people have sex, and both using contraception. Do you think my abstaining because of this is rational or over the top?

That is true, I am also scared of flying so perhaps this way of thinking is part of my personality. I just think statistically there's always that slight chance and it puts me off. Plus reading some of the stories on here where guys have had to go through court for access etc. I just don't want to have to do all that to be able to see my child. Do you ever think about the scare you had? During sex it after? I did continue having sex after but couldn't stop thinking about it.

I'm opposite, we only get one life. Every time we have sex you could view it as spinning a roulette wheel. Condoms 97% effective, I've had one break. Honestly it just changed my whole perspective about sex. I just want to leave the roulette alone. I view the benefits as small compared to what you could do with your whole life. Thrusting and ejaculating your potential future into a woman for a few minutes of pleasure. Yes the chance is low, but its not one I want to keep taking.

But with sex there is always a possibility to create a life with someone you don't know. There's no real way to control that.

To be honest, i don't think it is. I have had sex, but after wards just think of the possibility of pregnancy and it scares me. I'm also not prepared to abandon a child I create, so at present I am avoiding sex and just focusing on life goals
