The fact that he said it during a fight and after consuming that content makes it difficult to tell how much of it stems from his insecurity and how much of it he truly believes. But he clearly holds the sentiment to some extent or he wouldn't have said it at all. I wasn't really trying to get at whether he is actually better or can do better, just whether he really believes that. Because if he were just nagging because of a bossy personality trait, that would be a mundane personal habit that he…

Has he openly said he thinks he’s better than you specifically, or just better than others in general? There are many measures of value other than “productivity,” and if he actually thinks you’re beneath him then that seems like a deeper issue than just nagging. If he really believes he’s better than you, then he’d essentially have to adjust this portion of his value structure to appreciate what you naturally have to offer instead of trying to force you to offer what he’s looking for in this reg…

You don’t know that he “groomed” her. You’re making an assumption and it’s disrespectful to her. There were late-20-something males that I ran circles around as a teenager. Just because she was younger doesn’t mean she was a victim. And in any event, this is the man she’s chosen. They’ve been together almost a decade, they love each other, and she has fully committed by having a child. The childcare issue she has described is not abuse by him. The task now is to make it work. You’ve made your pe…

Well, I personally think motherhood is extremely difficult. And unless he’s fought in trench warfare, it’s unlikely that he has experienced sleep deprivation of the magnitude that you’re currently living with. He just doesn’t understand. My baby also had a phase where she wouldn’t nap longer than 35 minutes, and there were many days when I just broke down and wept because I felt I just could not go on living that way. It can be very tough, so give yourself some grace to feel what you’re feeling.…

I would also suggest that you consider whether help from your man is the solution to this issue. I’m not saying that it’s not, just that you should consider it carefully before assuming that it is. I think nowadays there’s a default assumption that if mom is struggling then the answer is that more is needed from dad. But are you actually looking to adjust the division of labor in your relationship? Or are you just needing something, anything, to change to make this phase more manageable? If it’s…

How much help you’re entitled to from him is something the two of you have to work out between yourselves. My husband is also the breadwinner and we have an explicit agreement that I’m not “entitled” to childcare assistance from him. I use the word “entitled” because it helps explain my attitude towards his help. The baby is fully my job, even when it’s hard. Now, he still spends a lot of time loving and parenting her during his off time, but the daily care tasks are mine and if he chooses to do…

So he doesn’t know what he wants, but chances are he will ultimately want kids. And absolutely no disrespect, but you might change your mind too as you age.

It seems like you just need to decide where your priorities lie. There’s nothing inherently wrong with his thrifty approach (unless he spends on himself but not on you, which would be a different issue), and it’s unlikely to change. On the other hand, I don’t think you’re being overly materialistic or unreasonable. It’s clear that one of your biggest love languages is gifts and he’s not inclined to love you in that way. While you can adjust your attitude about not receiving gifts, I don’t think …

I wouldn’t bring it up again. We’re pretty positive he can beat you, so just assume he could and let it go. Focus on building him up.

This is so sad :( But it doesn’t seem like a red pill issue to me. It seems like a dysfunctional man and/or dysfunctional relationship, which is its own problem and can happen in all types of relationships and walks of life. If anything, for me it drives home the fact that red pill principles are about so much more than being an obedient virgin.

I don’t see why you need to be out of school for him to marry you. What difference does it make? It sounds like an excuse to put off the commitment. Weddings cost as much as you choose to spend on them, and marriage itself is cheaper than maintaining two single households. I personally would not wait five years. Unless he’s a cold fish personality, he should know by now. Men aren’t very complex, they just seem that way when women overthink it instead of facing the uncomfortable truth. When a man…

You have built this up in your mind into something it’s not. The world is not black and white. You are not over the hill just because you were not a teen bride. It’s not exactly redpill theory that’s making you miserable (although I would steer clear of the men’s groups, tbh, they’re harsh and often more male fantasy/theory than reality), but rather your catastrophic thinking surrounding it. 24 is plenty young. I’m not sure where you’re based, but the average female marriage age in the U.S. is 2…

Ok, this is just my two cents - obviously none of us are in your relationship and know the details like you do. But this does not sound healthy to me. Few people are all bad or all good, so it’s likely that he truly does possess some good intentions, but some of the things you’ve mentioned are clear indications of significant problems. First, that he “needs a lot of praise and validation.” Of course men like to be appreciated, and you shouldn’t be tearing him down, but if he’s seeking too much v…

I don’t think this will get better, no matter what you do, because the problem isn’t actually you. If he’s insecure, he will always find something to be uncomfortable about. And it’s clear he’s suspicious of you being unfaithful because he is unfaithful. It’s no secret that a liar won’t believe anyone else. I know it’s disappointing because you’ve invested so much, but he doesn’t sound like husband material :(

I think it’s completely reasonable for him to cover you. Men should invest financially in their women. I saw a great video on this topic just a couple days ago. The man in the video was talking about how to go about having expenses covered by your man, and he pointed out that men hate feeling used but love feeling useful. He advised against asking outright because it can put the man back on his heels a bit. He suggested allowing your financial situation to limit your availability to your man and…

…are you saying he only booked two adults from the beginning? I hope there’s a very solid explanation for that. To be completely frank, the whole situation you’ve described just makes me feel a little queasy. The bottom line is that at this point the trip is a sunk cost. You’re not getting that money back whether you go or not, so it’s pretty irrelevant. What is relevant at this point is whether the trip would be a bad experience for you, even with a good attitude. I flew transatlantic with my h…

You don’t respect him, and that’s a problem. Unless he undergoes a transformation, the relationship is doomed. It’s natural when trying to correct errors to overcorrect before coming back to the middle. It sounds like he is your overcorrection after the abusive men. He’s too weak, and you instinctively don’t like it. That’s a natural and healthy reaction and it doesn’t mean you need an abusive man to be satisfied. There is a middle ground, which is where you should aim for - a strong, dominant m…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
