I'm with you, I felt all the same emotions, I did everything right, I tried to fix it when she did everything wrong, for our daughter, but she was lost, the woman I loved was gone, she no longer existed, the moment I accepted that was the moment I started to feel better. People change even if you didn't. But you have to understand it is not you, it's her, her needs changed her desires changed, even if you were steady , it's not you.

I agree, that's why I'm not eager to jump into anything, but seeing her do it, especially when there is a child involved, is a very hard pill to swallow

I have feelings of being a failure too, but as I look back i can't identify anything I did wrong, yes having a kid divides your attention, yes that means less for your spouse but growing a child is not the same as growing apart. We always did things a a family and a team, I loved it. It was the happiest time in my life, I supported her dreams 1000 percent, worked extra hours to make them financially attainable, and she was my best friend, so her leaving me was a complete blindside. She had other…

Yeah it really sucks losing your only confidant, it is forcing me to TRY and be more sociable.

That's a bummer you lost music, I've lost a few things too. At least for the time being.

I'm not so far along as you but I'm happy you were able to find some peace and an upside. I've been reading a lot more and trying to figure out how I want my life to be from this point forward, and it's really tough to imagine reinventing yourself after being solely focused on one person for so long, but it's made easier thinking about my daughter and being the father she deserves.

Its the hardest thing I ever did also, the opposite of what I want, but mentally I was just failing, and we have ac daughter together and I need to be good for her sake. Read the book "no break up can break you", full of a lot of common sense to the point stuff abs is written for men which is nice.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
