Thanks for sharing and sorry you went down that path. I always appreciate hearing people's stories and experience with this even if it's been hard. I appreciate hearing your story and getting your support.

I have not heard of any of these. Thanks so much. I will check them out.

Thanks so much. You nailed exactly where I stand on this. I think we need to offer: A different path for those that are already indoctrinated or on the edge A suggestion to all men on how we can create a better world for all. Even if we aren't in the redpill mentality, I think we need to lead and model healthy and inspiring behavior to add to the positive messaging. I think its important that we don't sit on the sidelines. If we don't step up, the redpill and adjacent voices will only get louder…

It certainly isn't for everyone. But I do think for many just having the lens and awareness can help, especially in relationships.

I’m actually very with you on that. That’s literally one of my points of view on all of this. Working to be an authentic and converted to your own gifts. Going further in your question: I personally don’t see masculine meaning men and feminine meaning women. I think this is part of the problem. I believe, like many have said that, we all have masculine and feminine in us and fluctuate where we are. I believe it’s this dynamic that has a hand in creating attraction. So I think considering and wor…

Thanks and I would agree. I heard something on a podcast recently that I appreciated about the idea of masculinity needing to have everything fit inside a box. It positioned it as a checklist to follow and when you check the boxes you are "there". An impossible and unrealistic task. Rather than the alternative of finding your own authenticity rather than trying to fit inside this unattainable box or checklist which causes so much of the performance we keep seeing.

Of course. And, ooof yes I think so much of this behavior comes out of insecurity. It sounds like you were doing your very best to support him and he still went down the path. Good luck again. And here if you need

u/UsedCantaloupe2966 Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to read this. It pains me to read your words. I have to say, I'm in agreement with some of the other comments. This seems really bad, and as I read it, it feels unsalvageable. My one take, outside of what is already being said, is to set a boundary and give an ultimatum and explain why. That will lose you if the behavior continues. It might already seem too far gone at this point as some have said. This definitely sounds like abuse and manipulation.…

This doesn’t seem helpful to the conversation. Also, peer pressure does seem like one of the entryways to redpill

OP: Can you give us more details on anything that changed? Anything at all that your first started to notice? Any life events outside of the mom and exes?

Following this thread because I’m confused as well as interested in someone being with a partner can actively fall down this path.

Sorry for the downvotes. While I very much disagree with this behavior I would prefer a call in on this with comments rather than to blast your account with downvotes

Thank you for this. As I said previously, I’m in a long term relationship and have no context for this. I only hear it from other people, many of them in a mens group I run. I feel like a lot of it comes from not only dating apps which is flooding people’s minds with all or nothing thinking and creating a sense that all or most women think or want a certain thing. So harmful.

“Almost no one wants someone to be with forever nowadays.” This one hit me. I’m so sorry this has been your experience. I am lucky to have a partner and have not had to experience the dating in recent times but I can say that I’ve heard similar statements from people in my men’s group. It just sounds so tough. I personally want to believe that there are more women out there who do want a long term partnership than were led to believe but these stories just hurt to hear. Thanks for sharing and si…

Based on your brief responses here I really get the feeling that you’re onto something and could bring some positive impact to the world around this topic. Thanks again for your thoughts

Wow, this is all so good. I'll consider a lot of it for how we approach this. Do you run groups as well? It sounds like it.

This. In my work with men for many years, whenever I come across a redpiller there is SO much blame. I think this is one of the primary diseases of the movement. It puts all the responsibility elsewhere in most cases when in any situation we all share a portion of it. But let's also be clear here. It isn't ALL your responsibility either. You share some as do societal stereotypes, and anyone you explore a relationship with. We can practice responsibility without placing 100% of the blame on ourse…

I've run a men's group for almost a decade focusing on healthy masculinity. I can say that many in my group have partners that make more than them and still have healthy relationships. It is still a struggle to unwork cultural stereotypes that tell men that this is a failure, but to answer the question directly: yes of course.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
