Really try something to calm your nerves down, it does not solve your past but it helps living day to day. My family was much more even keeled but I do understand the pain and being accustomed to a torrent of emotions and screaming and abuse.

I am sorry for your past, that makes even keeled human interactions and a love relationship difficult. If you find yourself getting angry a lot and lashing out, and you know that you should be acting calmer, try mild calming down supplements like valerian root. They do not fix any "underlying issues" but might just add a bit of calmness. I am from Eastern Europe also (Russia) and your description of your family situation occurs there often also. It is tough and I wish you the best.

I have no idea why they did think so. But they did. They found talking about money off putting. Mind you, one did marry me, but 15 or so years into the marriage, gave me a scandal about how I talk too much about money. I got upset, stopped talking about money and now my wife does not even know our net worth, and does not care. (!)

First of all, I am very supportive of your idea to become wealthy and to save and invest money. Please continue on this path. It is the only way really. I also would like to mention my own (I am a middle aged man now) experience with the same thing. I was always into saving, investing, learning about finances just like you. It actually paid off bigly. However, I found that talking to romantic partners about this (female partners in my case) often made them feel bored or otherwise came as tone de…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
