I completely agree, it's so true. I've not been in the situation myself but from what I've seen and heard from many obese people, a lot of them comfort eat to deal with trauma. The food is a distraction, it tastes good and it makes them feel better. I can understand struggling to break from this when food has been the one thing that's made them feel whole. Like you said, it's so important to tackle the mental health first otherwise there won't be any successful weight loss.

I think I'm in a similar place you are. I'm still a work in progress but one thing that's been helping is knowing that even if men on the street did give me attention, it's more likely sexual.
