I did this so much in my marriage. I started writing everything down so I could go back and reassure myself that it was all real.

Gross. I almost reflexively down voted this because of my disgust. Imagine typing that out and thinking that was a good opener.

I hear what some of you are saying when you say this is rude, but allow me to share my perspective. I was this girlfriend. I hate watching TV. I was coerced so many times by an ex to watch shows he'd just know I'd love, to just be bored out of my mind. Very very rarely can something hold my interest on the TV. Maybe TV isn't her thing and he should stop trying to make it her thing. Edit: thanks for the award! ❤️ I tried to message the user, but she (smartly) has her messages off.

Same! I keep having these realizations about myself. I'm not messy, I'm not too emotional, I'm not flaky, I don't even steal the covers or hog the bed. Literally everything he told me about myself was a lie.

This is also a brilliant power move. We've been taught to suppress that anger or whole lives. It's a great way to take our power back.

This is so small, but a realization I had. I've been divorced for 2 years, lived on my own for 3. While married, my bedsheets would always get holes in them in certain spots. They would get dingy and develop holes. My ex convinced me it was because I needed to wash them more. I was changing sheets yesterday when I realized that none of my sheets ever get those holes anymore. Then it hit me. He was shredding them with his nasty feet and long toenails. He'd convinced me it was my fault. It really …

Yes, the list is so important. Your brain starts to seek out all those good "I'm in love" chemicals, and all you can suddenly remember are the good times.

It's a huge red flag that he feels the need to tell her all the things others are saying. He should defend her to these people and then never mention them to her. It makes me think these are his fears and he's too emotionally stunted to actually voice his concerns, so he pretends this is what people are saying to him to get a feel for her reaction. Regardless him running to tell her the hurtful things others are saying is a big red flag in a sea of red flags.

My ex put 40k of CC debt in my name without my knowledge. He ended up moving 28k of it to his name "to help me out" like he was doing me a favor or something. I worked into our divorce paperwork that we were each responsible for the debts in our names, sold our house, paid off my debt with my half, and walked away a with over 40k in my pocket. He left with almost nothing after paying off his own debt and has managed to put himself in debt all over again. Not my problem anymore. Man it's good to …

I kept reading and reading to see what she did that was so bad and worth suing over. She literally just posted the audio of their voices. Things they freely said. She's holding them accountable for their actions and it's causing them emotional stress in the $15 million range? It'd be laughable if I wasn't so incredibly pathetic.

I'm in my late 30s. My son is 13. 13 sucks ass, but parenting him with my ex was so much harder. I've switched from doing damage control because his dad has anger problems, to mostly enjoying him and trying to raise the best man that I can. My ex was also the very stereotype of a man baby. I realized I could not parent them both and still keep me. I chose me and my child. Solo parenting is so much better than parenting with a shitty partner.

I gained quite a bit of weight after my r*pe a year and a half ago. And while I know I will physically feel better when I lose it, I've been hesitant to do so for the reasons you described. It comes with a feeling of so much more safety. I enjoy not being groped and yelled at. Men no longer follow me around or try and "get my opinion" on shit in the grocery store. Nothing has ever felt as safe as being fat.

I'm so lost on the "why" here. You completely change yourself for what? You ignore your own boundaries for what? You defer to his judgment over your own for what? What could these women get out of these relationships that they are willing to sacrifice everything about themselves? Is it honestly so they can say they have a man? Male attention really isn't that special. Ladies, have some self-respect.

I've been divorced 2 years as of yesterday. I didn't even remember until just now! We were married for 16 years. My final straw was so small compared to all the shit he put me through. He wouldn't leave me alone when I got home. I asked maybe 50 times over the course of our marriage to give me about 15 minutes to decompress. Our marriage counselor told him the same. He wouldn't. He would start in the second I walked in the door and I'd have to listen to a play by play of his whole day and his an…

I saw the original video, it was disgusting. I imagine it took more effort to find all those bottles than it would have to just go to the bathroom. And then to never throw them out? There had to have been close to 100.

Single mom here. I couldn't care any less if someone doesn't want me because I'm the responsible parent that took up the mantle of both parenting roles. They don't want kids? Obvious incompatibility, no worries. Best of luck. The constant shaming of single mothers does bother me though. At least these dudes are showing their asses. Hopefully all women take note when a dude flies his red flags so obviously.

$300 to help pay for a child he made is nothing. That doesn't cover food for a month let alone clothing, daycare, healthcare, literally anything else. When she's in the same situation with him a few years down the road, she'll be arguing the other side of things.

Yes, absolutely. Though I didn't know what I was doing at the time. By the time I called it quits, I had already mourned. I think people thought I was heartless, but it really allowed me to focus on my next steps: moving out, filing for divorce, and being there for my son. I don't regret it.

I was so fortunate to have family to help me. I'm tempted to tell you "it will all be fine" but it's so unhelpful and hollow. Hi! It's been about 2 years since I ended a 16 year marriage. I'm currently 38. I always worked, so I'm sorry I can't help you there. I had the luxury of an amazing family. My son and I lived with my parents (rent free) for 7 months of the separation and the first 5 months of divorce. During that time I saved as much as possible, paid off all debt, and closed most of my accounts.
