What was even her plan?? Obviously your bf knew what you both looked like, and would know she was digitally altering both your appearances. I'm not even offended by her actions, just sad to hear a woman was that insecure.

I enjoy getting to be naked all the time. My ex used to poke fun at me about it. I also like getting to be my naturally cluttered self without complaint. I am almost always cold and constantly have heaters on/several blankets on the bed, so it's nice to get zero feedback on that. I too eat the same meals day in and day out, and it's heavenly. I am typically an early-to-bed type and don't miss dealing with other people's lights/sounds when I'm trying to sleep. Some days I just stay in bed or on t…

My ex-bf planned a whole day dedicated to me for Valentine's day. Took me to a cat café (I am obsessed with cats and had no idea one existed locally; he'd gotten the idea and researched it himself). He took me to my favorite museum (I am a huge science nerd unlike him; he'd never been before, just heard me mention how I loved previous trips there). Lastly he took me out to dinner at a nice restaurant. The entire day revolved around me and my likes alone. It was all a surprise and he planned ever…

I don't think I've ever had any sort of relationship with a man (familial, platonic, or romantic) where they could accept my feelings as is. Every single one has tried to debate my feelings. The last LVX I dumped specifically because he would try to convince me my feelings were wrong. If I told him how I liked to be comforted he claimed I was "trying to control [him]." 🙄

I once sat in on court proceedings as a part of paper I needed to write for a criminal justice class in college. A man sat next to me and asked if I'd spoken to the judge yet, and I said I hadn't and explained why I was there. When the man did speak with the judge, it was revealed that he'd brandished a weapon at some women and threatened them. Once he finished speaking with the judge, the man returned to his seat beside me and asked me out. 🤦🏿‍♀️

The main character syndrome runs so deep with men. They truly believe the world revolves around them and that we're the supporting cast. I feel like I have to remind men I know at least weekly that I haven't asked them their opinions nor do I care what they think.

For men I'm specifically referring to ones I've turned down or dumped. This led to an unending series of social media messages, texts, phone calls, etc. - some even from their friends, after I blocked the initial LVM. I've had several women (often friends, but also family members) nag me incessantly about either male romantic partners or family members that I've cut off. Like they - as someone not involved in the situation - just cannot stand the idea of me enforcing a boundary around which men …

It's so empowering knowing I can (and have, and do, and will) walk away if I'm not happy. I've had men and women both work themselves into fits when I've refused to engage or argue with men. It's amazing.

I am one of the vanishingly few single people I know. Most folks - especially women - dont care at all. It just gives them double the air time to drone on about their fwb/boyfriend/husband since that's all they have to talk about.

I told off a work scrote yesterday myself, and it was glorious. My favorite part was that it was in a meeting that included my (female) immediate supervisor. Afterwards she told me how she loved some of my comebacks 🤣 Work scrote accused me of insulting him. I looked him in the eye and said I stood by my statement. He didn't have a response 🤷🏿‍♀️

I feel bad for these kids. Imagine having six siblings spread across four households - all but guaranteeing you're not getting proper attention and time with your father. Then your youngest siblings dies, and while your still grieving weeks later your father announces you have a seventh sibling on the way with yet another woman (who he of course isn't married to). I can only hope the moms provide stability, but I'm not optimistic.

Men's inability to follow the simplest of directions is exactly why I don't bother with them anymore. Most don't want to please you; they want you to be pleased whenever they do whatever it is that they want you to like. It's a great vetting strategy to give a man specific directions early about a particular thing you prefer. The ones who don't care are exposed so quickly.

When FDS says dating and relationship are suppose to be fun - THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE FUN! No pressure to "keep this one down" and feeling yourself tied up on a chain. This was the biggest mindset shift for me. Pre-FDS my vision of future success and happiness definitely included a man, and as such I always felt pressed to "try and make it work" with literally any man I was involved with. Rather than evaluate each man on his own merits, my scarcity mindset made me desperate to try and make any an…

Perhaps I'm old-fashioned, but I was taught it's rude to call someone (or for 2021, text or IM) between 9pm and 9am. Rubs me the wrong way to try and confirm plans with you so late, and only give you a faux chance to give input on the locale. This isn't considerate enough of your time and preferences, imo.

Also wouldn't it be better to not communicate your boundaries so LVM won't attempt to lovebomb or future fake you? This is something I wondered about. I've seen previous advice to be vague about it (i.e. "I'm not comfortable yet, but you'll know when I'm ready.") for this exact reason. I'd worry about telling a man that I'm waiting for a relationship for sex for fear he'd try to speed up commitment. Then again, that's a red flag in and of itself.

I have male coworkers I've gone out with before for happy hour, etc. None ever felt the need to assure me that their invite was "strictly as friends." My ex wanted me to move in with him when his roommate moved out, strictly for the financial benefits. I did ultimately move in with him, but not until we'd had several deep conversations about our relationship and future. I had a guy share on the first date a lot of emotional trauma, including self-esteem issues, problem drinking, and the fact he'd been cheated on. I consider my long-time ex (we were together just over 6.5 years) medium value. I was dissatisfied with our relationship for the last year or so we were together, but had a hard time articulating what was wrong. Like the linked post suggests, I struggled at first with justifying the breakup since I couldn't point to any one thing he did wrong or badly - I just wasn't in love with him. I've seen this gal on twitter before. I believe she is pretty young (like 22-23) and they've been together since high school. So they may have been together for "years" already, but are still a bit young for marriage. That's said, what I remember of their pages is that they're both wannabe influencer types always posting about their love, money, cars, or designer goods. I hope they do have a great relationship, but it's undeniable that both are very much catering a specific public image.

My opinion is that a childfree person has and wants no children (regardless of how they're conceived/who carries them), whereas a childless person has no children but has a desire for them or is open to them. The "less" part of being childless speaks to the feeling of lacking something one might otherwise want, and the "free" in childfree speaks to the freedom from parenthood entirely.

I've never had that experience, so it's hard to say for sure. I don't do OLD, so I would only be going out with someone I already know that I like - at least a bit. If this is an OLD date couldn't you just say you have plans afterwards (or need to get to bed early, etc.) and ask just to do the first part of the plan? It gives you a perfect follow up to finish the rest of the date/plan later if you do end up liking the guy.

I don't go to the gym, but I love this premise. This gives me ideas for similar things I can implement (ex: going to a museum or sporting event in a field I'm super familiar with) to see how a guy behaves.

My ex-bf mentioned something similar he saw at a Linkin Park show: the late Chester Bennington stopped singing mid-song to admonish men for "copping feels" on women who were crowdsurfing.

The only noteworthy thing I remember about him is Eminem's diss track. Apparently Nick Cannon said he'd ruin Eminem's career and Em said "you're gonna ruin MY career? YOU better get one!"

I don't know that I'd label my longtime ex as a HVM, he's more medium-value than anything, but he's one person I know I can rely on in any circumstance. He's on his own level-up journey, prompted by our breakup. He's said himself that he took me for granted, and that he needs to work on himself in order to retain a woman like (but decidedly not) me.

I used to be so sad when I was younger that I didn't get more male attention. Now that I'm older I realize I give off major "don't mess with me vibes," and that men stay away accordingly. A male acquaintance once told me he could see why men don't approach me - I sound too educated 🤡 Fortunately I've reached the point where I can appreciate this as a blessing.

Earlier in the pandemic (during winter) I got catcalled while wearing a heavy coat with my hood up, sunglasses, and a mask. Literally the only thing that gave away I was a woman was the fact I was carrying a purse. It literally doesn't matter what you wear or look like, LVM are gonna LVM. You might as well dress comfortably!

I love this. I am a renter, and have had property managers give me the side-eye before for wanting a two bedroom apartment to myself, as if it's outrageous for me to want space?! I am happy for you and hope you do buy a huge house and put your personal mark on each room without anyone else's grubby fingers on it.

That makes sense for sure. It's sad that none of the friends she talked to thought to call her school's counseling office (not blaming them; it's genuinely a shame). My college had a "behavioral intervention team" of counselors, deans, case managers, etc. students/faculty/staff could contact if they were concerned about someone else in the campus community.

Is this really "male depravity?" Threatening suicide is a common tactic abusers use to guilt victims into staying. I don't know the status of this particular relationship, but from the attached article it sounds like the (ex-)bf broke up with her and was out of town. If a woman broke up with a man and he immediately called her 70 times threatening suicide, I think most people on this sub would view him as unhinged and dangerous (rightfully so). Is there additional information out there that impl…

I'm aware of the changes associated with temperature, but I've see some men whose sagginess transcended those types of changes. My anecdotal experience definitely jibes with men that wear boxer briefs/compression shorts often sagging way less than those who wear simple, unsupportive boxers.

I know this is a humor post, but can we talk for a minute about saggy balls? What is up with that?! Women simultaneously get criticized if their breasts are "too small," yet men also complain is large-breasted women's chests sag (ugh, hello gravity!). Meanwhile their balls hang and swing like a sweaty, smelly grandfather clock pendulum. It's like the world's worst yo-yo, and the sagging starts so young!

I used to love GC when I was in middle school too! I definitely cringe at the sexist, incel-influenced lyrics. Seriously. I suffer from depression myself. Know what I did? Go to therapy. Talk to my doctor about medication. Change my diet. Take responsibility for my life! Men say they're depressed like that's the start and end of the story.

Why didn't he just cOmMuNiCaTe his sexual needs (yes, needs) to his heavily pregnant/freshly post-partum wife? He just needs to make her understand how important this is to him 🙄 So he fell out of love with the wife year ago, but didn't stop having unprotected sex with her? Not only that, but he ostensibly stayed for the good of the child, but left when the baby was barely a month old? Honestly the (ex-)wife and baby sound better off without him.

Hiding panties in your man's briefcase seems like a surefire way to embarrass him at work. Also, slipping off your panties at dinner and handing them to him? What's he supposed to do with them after? I wouldn't want to sit on a public surface in a skirt with no underwear...nasty.

Take off your thong and use it as a hair tie 🤦🏿‍♀️ Apparently this was supposed to be a sexy move when giving a bj. Pulling your hair back was supposed to convey that you were really gonna get down to business...not sure how using a string from your buttcrack was supposed to enhance the experience.

The last guy I was with had a had handful of stock porn phrases: "You like that dick, huh?" "Bounce on that dick!" "Slobber on that dick!" "Your pussy's so tight!" "Your pussy's so wet!" The first time he launched into his monologue I almost burst out laughing. I thought it was a joke and he was making fun, but then he did it every time and I realized he was serious 🥴 ETA: Using "pussy," "cock," and other gross slang is also a red flag. We're all adults here, use the proper terminology.

I also feel like kisses on the first date/meeting are a red flag. Fool, I don't know you! The most sane men I've been with were content with the most vanilla of sex. Guys who insisted in jackhammering, changing positions a billion times, narrating the experience ("Yeah you like that dick, huh?" 🤡), or introducing slapping/choking or butt stuff without prior discussion were all pornsick and to be avoided at all costs. I've never hid that I'm on birth control (I use NuvaRing, so a guy can feel it through penetration), but I've also never brought it up. I've always acted like using a condom was the obvious protocol, and fortunately have never had a guy balk. I agree about using this as a vetting tool.

I used one of those "design a ring" sites to pick out an engagement ring and wedding band when me and my ex were talking marriage. The entire set was ~$950. He complained SO much about how expensive they were (interesting he didn't feel that way spending the same on game systems). His face was priceless when engagement came up in conversation later and a friend shares how he and his brother spent $5k and $19k on their wives' diamonds. So ex-wife schedules a work event AFTER 4pm and on the weekend the kid will presumably be gone, which is a very logical thing to do. Perspective is amazing. On first read I thought "wow, what a saint the ex-wife is for going out of her way to try and organize this so as not to affect the child, being willing to take the child to her work event last minute (without complaint!!), and STILL offering the dad the opportunity to come pick up his kid and have visitation!" I love how these takes always assume it's an either/or proposition: either the man spends thousands on the rings/wedding, leaving the couple destitute, or they can spend those funds on the couple's lifestyle instead. I'm single, and I can afford: my bills, my own place, my pet, retirement, rings, designer bags, vacations, and more. And I only make $55K USD! It's not matter of women wanting too much, it's a matter of men wanting to do so little. If you can't afford a ring, a wedding, and to contr…

This is why I -as a Black woman- have never dated a Black man. Far be it from me not to want to, no, the majority of ones I've encountered in the wild had this attitude and refused to date Black women. I've only ever dated white men because my own men didn't want me. Their loss!

Piss bottles are DISTURBINGLY common it seems. I've seen several episodes of that show Hoarders where both men and women just sort of gave up on life and started using bottles/buckets for waste, before ultimately deciding to stop emptying them out. I'd have never believed it if I hadn't seen it 🤢

Haha I didn’t intend for it to come across as doing all of those things for a husband as if it's an entitlement. More that for me to even consider doing one, he would need to be my husband at that point. I've never cooked or cleaned for a man, thankfully.

I wasn't exactly sure how to phrase it, but my first iteration of the list said "gifts" rather than expensive ones. I am a cheap person naturally, so when I say "expensive gifts" for a bf I mean something up to $100. I would never buy a guy a PS5 or something like that - even a husband. I too used to make the mistake of trying to win men over with my kindness 🤡 Fortunately I haven't done it for a few years now.
