not “proof,” but relevant quote that came to mind: Winston had disliked her from the very first moment of seeing her. He knew the reason. It was because of the atmosphere of hockey−fields and cold baths and community hikes and general clean−mindedness which she managed to carry about with her. He disliked nearly all women, and especially the young and pretty ones. It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, t…

poor diet probably doesn’t help things, but I have a feeling (this is admittedly anecdotal) the trend of bodybuilders/strength athletes getting heart attacks at 40 is more closely tied to steroid abuse, rather than poor diet, and its impacts on LDL/HDL levels. which is in line with what you’re mentioning on the symptoms of what you’re mentioning in the cardiovascular system.

thanks, this is helpful. one note re obesity though is that the discrepancy in testosterone seemed to still be present when controlling for obesity: The decline in testosterone levels is almost certainly linked to higher rates of obesity (which suppresses testosterone) and may be linked to lower rates of smoking in men (since nicotine is a potent aromatase inhibitor). In the 2007 study, however, the age-matched declines persisted after controlling for these variables

the story is from 2018. the OP text is copied and pasted from this page, including the capitalization error in the last paragraph of the OP. within that page, this source from The College Fix links to an article where American University disputes they taught this as a lesson, and changed the training for additional clarity with what they intended: “I am not aware of ANY material in the old system that states that consent can be withdrawn at any point except during an encounter,” Story said: “In …

We are knowingly decreasing males T levels and are barely even investigating into how this is happening how can we be knowingly decreasing male T levels if, at the same time, we don’t understand how/why it’s happening? that article contains multiple paragraphs with some plausible reasoning as to why it may be occurring, but it would require additional research to verify or understand what’s driving it.

I don’t really have a solution unfortunately, but if you have Netflix you might like Medici. it shows how the Medici sponsored art/painting and the works themselves. might be nice to see if you’re feeling bummed. among others, Botticelli comments on the purpose art serves and is a voice throughout the series since we was friends/sponsored by the Medici family.

these days, it’d likely be more rare unfortunately. might be bias from having lived in a city, but on a typical first date the anticipation from the woman is a decent or nice dinner and drinks. on the surface-level it shows her the guy has $$$ and is boring (i.e., FDS jackpot; low risk - high reward, in most cases), but it shows the guy her personality is likely somewhere between default/boring to high-maintenance. this dinner/drinks scenario of course ignores we’re in a FUCKING PANDEMIC, AND BA…

it looks like analysts are predicting varying results country-to-country, but they say it’s still too early to tell with a decent level of certainty. the general anticipation seems to be that higher-income nations may continue to see declines in births driven by economic instability, while lower-income nations may see booms due to limited/restricted access to birth control. for the US, analysts were anticipating a 300,000 - 500,000 drop in births based on previous recessions, but demand for birt…

Who could have seen this coming? for what it’s worth, a commentator says it’s “pretty unlikely to succeed,” but is “remarkable in its boldness.” Further, no shortage of ifs and maybes to speculate on. Article is worth a read if you’re interested in the story, many points that get made here are talked to within: On August 4, The Blast reported that Young, represented by Samantha Spector, had sent something of a Hail Mary. this. one of the major problems in this cycle, and in ‘16, is that the media are painting a picture where it’s the Democrats’ election to lose. polls are leaning their way by double digits, Trump’s out of his mind, the economy went to trash under him, how could he possibly win, right? if he does win then it must be fraudulent. but when Trump insinuated elections can be rigged, it’s like he walked into Sunday Mass and yelled there is no God - how dare he?! he gets elected, it’s 3 years of collusi…

it’s not necessarily for forever. but it’s a form of saying “fuck you” to the world since they’ve just learned the world can be cruel. somewhat similar to why Cain killed Abel. they harden up their heart so they don’t get hurt again - the last time they opened up to someone they got hurt, so why not hurt others before they have a chance to hurt you? why not become indifferent to love and affection if feeling it can lead to pain? I’m not excusing it or saying it’s justified or perfectly fine, but…

yeah everybody’s different. it’s gonna sound annoyingly cliche, but there’s a balance to be had between work and play - you don’t want to take too much time off because then you could tread towards indolence, and while that’s the opposite of being overworked it’s just as perilous.

it’ll take time. try to pick up a new hobby. there’s no real shortcut. do not actively seek refuge in alcohol/drugs. once you do it long enough, you’ll eventually find days here and there where she doesn’t cross your mind even once. eventually you’ll stop giving a fuck about her and about dating in general (for the most part).

I don’t think the terms are well-defined. how do we define leading vs. following, what is ‘the way,’ and where does reacting (‘act accordingly’) fit in within this proposed dichotomy? if divorces are mainly initiated by women, how strong is the claim that men control the dating/relationship market? if men ‘control’ dating or relationships, why do most men not-have children and most women do? if there’s a market for onlyfans, are men leading or following the trend? why? I could see multiple inter…

fwiw I think the reasoning is more than just the idea of earning disparity. that may be part of it, but it’s likely also due to where the women are, men will follow. so both “markets” are captured and the restaurant is aiming to do it in a way to make greater overall profit despite the discounted cost for women. additionally, there apparently are some states that have ruled the idea of ladies night as unlawful gender-based price discrimination - including California (surprising to me), Maryland,…

keep in mind, AOC has misrepresented information in the past, and argued that being morally correct is more important than being factually correct as part of her defense. Seriously, the reason why Yoho was apparently criticizing her was that she was asked during a virtual townhall about the recent crime wave in NYC: she answered that it’s likely due to economic hardship; she received backlash - even from Cuomo - along the lines of ‘are you serious?;’ and she later replied that she was talking ab…

in essence, Reddit doesn’t like this subreddit and wants to actively discourage and prevent people from finding+joining it. Quarantine is where a subreddit receives actual punitive measures to that end. Here’s a link for Reddit-speak that details what it is exactly. I don’t necessarily know what conclusions to draw from this in terms of capabilities - as someone outside the field, the disparity seems shocking, but there’s still debate over which of the two sexes is ‘more intelligent’ if either and it can vary depending on what is measured and how.

a recent thought I had is that this line of thinking is very easily able to get some moral support as relates to historic religious themes in society. for example, the economic ‘argument’ in support of class conflicts seems analogous to Nietzsche’s criticisms of Christianity and his idea on groups with conflicting codes of ‘morality.’

you’d need data to argue it either way, and then to form / refer to an econometric equation. when someone says something to the effect of women earn .79 for every dollar men make, they’re assuming an “income equation” where gender is an important variable in determining income. but there are other variables that determine income: age, education, marital status, profession, and others. it turns out, there’s a lot more to it than gender (if at all). the .79 cents to a dollar argument comes from ta…

The problem is, in part, that men do not stand up to women's loose behaviour. QFT. in my experience (seeing the shyte so-called feminists post on IG) the argument is along the lines of “women can do no wrong, and where they do it’s largely due to the patriarchy and they’re just adapting behaviors men are actually calling for.” and when men call them out it’s sexist, it’s misogynist, it’s mansplaining, it’s whatever. because of this, quiet and otherwise well-meaning men don’t step up to call it o…

re pleasures and limits - “By interpreting freedom as the propagation and immediate gratification of needs, people distort their own nature, for they engender in themselves a multitude of pointless and foolish desires, habits, and incongruous stratagems. not as a “successful” writer, but as someone who’s dabbled with the idea - this seems the way to start it: find a job that you can tolerate in order to pay bills and feed yourself, and keep the habit of writing from 1-3 hours a day if you have a story you’re working on or two-three half-hours of two-three somethings that happened during the day if not. I’d recommend picking up On Writing by Stephen King and Kurt Vonnegut’s Letters as books I recently read that give insight to how it was for thes…

the most important people in human history, the ones whose work unquestionably changed our lives, weren’t wealthy. Bill Gates. I’m not saying someone’s wealth is a requirement to be a genius or someone’s wealthy, therefore they’re a genius. I’m saying there are certain people who’s wealth was made in a way that is evidence they’ve fundamentally changed “the game” with respect to the world, and this says something about their intelligence being high enough to be considered geniuses. It’s a subset…

I agree luck is involved in successful outcomes in entrepreneurship, but your conclusion is it doesn’t require an exceptional level of intelligence to found and concurrently manage multiple companies to the scale he has, where he’s become a multi-billionaire? what is your definition of genius?

We really should stop abusing that word riiight because Elon Musk “slipped and fell” into founding multiple companies, by sheer luck became a multi-billionaire, and one of the most well-known ones at that. what is your argument exactly, that he’s not intelligent he’s just an absurdly clever simpleton? that he’s of average intelligence? I clearly recognize this fault of his, and he can be a genius in some areas and not in others.

he really should consider a break from dating: married Justine Wilson in 2000, divorced in 2008. married Talulah Riley in 2010, divorced in 2012. married her again in 2013 divorced in 2016. (see this video for a shocking amount of red flags) apparently has been fooling around with Amber Heard and as I was looking into that, he may have a “baby momma” as someone who doesn’t follow too closely, this guys a genius but I’m hoping technological/economical innovations he can do don’t become jeopardize…

this article paints some pretty insane allegations. after Amber Heard, I wouldn’t be surprised if this is all bullshit. I’ve never heard of Renner having drug problems or being a jackass. and just to emphasize the point you make, it was less than a calendar year from marriage to divorce. Married 1/13/14, she filed 12/30/14. so if this stuff’s true, I get why the split, but even so: if it costs $30,000 a month to raise a 7 year old, generations of kids have no chance from this day forward :( from…
