Something I should do. I'm an older engineer and have no problem with complex systems, but finance? I don't know why it puts me off so much. It's just me. Weird. But the minicrash in '87, the tech crash in the 00's, the financial crisis in '08, the recession we're heading into in whatever form it takes, that does interest me. Thanks for the info. Appreciated.

Something like the farmer I can get. The scale is human. The financialization that's taken place on a global scale the last decades? Insane. Nothing is real. From my very self-admitted ignorant point of view. But something just seems very very off. Not real as I said.

How are option contracts used in practice then? Real question. How do they have value? I guess I'm asking what they're used for.

Just did a quick Google. Yes, it's a federal offense. Depending on what's in the mail can up the charges significantly. Any personal identifying information makes it identity theft. They are truly fucking themselves. That said, get a private mail box.

If she's got booze in her life where it's causing problems of any kind then walk away. She's got a good decade or two or more before she'll sort herself out, if she ever does. It's not for you to be there for her. Look out for yourself first.

Immediately tell the police a firearm was stolen and by who. This is actually a very big deal. She can be in a lot of trouble but it could end up coming back on you. And cops do take firearms seriously. See a lawyer for a quick explanation of the facts maybe.

/r/MGTOW02/09/19 03:27 PM

Yeah. When you've been here's little bit and read other guys' experiences you come to realize this is all the norm. And unfortunately it seems the only way for men to truly learn this is to go through exactly what you did. It sucks but it's just the way it is. I've certainly seen it and had to get through that anger myself. But after comes understanding. It's pointless to be angry at the world for being what it is. Hang in there. It does get better.

You quoted per use failure rates little buddy. That's how aggregate failure rates are calculated in industry and actuarial science as well as epidemiology. If you do the math and assume sex twice a week you get a 1 in 10 chance of pregnancy in a year at 0.1% failure rate and about 1 in 3 for 0.4% failure rate. In 3 years it's 25% and 70% chance of pregnancy, respectively. Considering your life is ruined, Russian roulette has better odds. Get it snipped, boys.

A couple of years ago I moved to a new city for a new job. I work in tech and although it wasn't exactly my field but I was able to get up to speed pretty quickly. What I didn't have were informal contacts . Not in the technical field or locally in my geographic area. What I used were local MeetUp groups to connect with people. You end up meeting people in similar situations. The MeetUps are popular enough and attract enough people that I was able to find a couple of genuine people to talk to an…

The people down voting are the same people in the Soviet Union, Cambodia and former Yugoslavia who never saw themselves one day being forced to stand while someone held their arms behind their back and another bound their wrists with wire, all the while realizing they will not see the end of the day. Watch out for overpasses in cities like Detroit. They throw shit down to stop you then box you in. If you don't surrender and give them everything they'll just burn your car with you in it. They might do it anyway for kicks but what can you do. Why do you think Americans go around armed? Would you go hiking in grizzly bear or cougar country without a .45 on your belt? Then again, people do that. The bears and cougars appreciate it.

What you have isn't a home, it's a shelter. I was homeless for a time while I was getting back on my feet. So I stayed at a shelter that provide mats on the floor of the cafeteria during the night but you had to be out during the day. Sucked. I was living out of my backpack and just had a winter coat for a pillow or blanket. One or the other. :) Then I got into a local Y's single room occupancy hotel and stayed for a couple of years. So, you also have to change your AMALT, behaviour. Exactly. The great thing with being men is we can recognize our behaviour and modify it with experience. Men are good at supporting each other, too. Women are incapable of this. Their nature never changes. They have zero insight other than this is just how women are and they're fine with it.

I was 35 and she was 50. This was about 20 years ago and a bit. We were exclusive but both understood it was for sex, company and having fun together. It actually worked out fine. Fifteen years is not huge, anyway, but it's compatibility that mattered.

It's part of men's nature, though. This is what has discovered continents and founded nations. This is why it's always men. But it also makes us tremendously vulnerable and to be taken advantage of, obviously. This is where MGTOW comes in.
/r/MGTOW07/08/19 09:37 PM

Yes. Whatever works.

MeetUps can work.
/r/MGTOW30/07/19 09:03 PM

If you can connect up with people who are also tutoring they can act as good references. I had friends who tutored in piano and another who did chemistry and biology. They'd refer math and physics students to me and I'd refer students to them as appropriate. Took about a year to get set up.
/r/MGTOW30/07/19 08:43 PM

One of the things I came to realize young is that IQ matters. Big time. You have nothing to really occupy yourself with outside of sex otherwise. And think about it. 50% of everyone has an IQ less than 100. 1 in 2. 25% has an IQ less than 90. 1 in 4. 15% has an IQ less than 85. 1 in 6. And which ones hang out in bars looking for guys to pick them up? Yeah.
/r/MGTOW30/07/19 08:22 PM
2

True. I was off work for a good part of a year and wound up tutoring high school and college math and physics as a private tutor. There was no marking involved although I did have to prepare practice problems ahead of time to work through with a student. I would do one or two hour sessions. At the end, before I went back to work as an engineer, I had six plus students and was paying my mortgage by tutoring alone. Even as a supplement it's not money to sneeze at. A lot of full time teachers do it…
/r/MGTOW30/07/19 08:17 PM
1

Yeah, I didn't mean it as a put down. Experienced professionals who have a knack for teaching and motivating students are in big demand in STEM fields. Not so much the theoretical but the hands on practical work. I'm an engineer myself and older. It's surprising the opportunities that are out there if you look.
/r/MGTOW30/07/19 08:10 PM

Teaching? IT would be in demand at community colleges.
/r/MGTOW30/07/19 08:04 PM

Are you in college or have a college education? I'm curious what program you were in.
/r/MGTOW30/07/19 02:21 PM

Considering they're teachers this looks like possible blackmail material.
/r/MGTOW29/07/19 07:07 PM

My ex pissed her twenties away dating black dudes and playing lesbian to get back at daddy. I didn't realize the extent of it until I was married and it was too late. And then the shit starts coming out with us. Again, all issues that are due solely to her. But she was in her 30's now and still wanted kids badly. But it not enough to reign in her behaviour. I still consider myself lucky that we split before we had kids and had built up enough assets to matter.

That's obviously fabricated. The dialogue is always the giveaway. The vast majority of people cannot write dialog, so they imitate what they've heard on the movies rather than what they've heard in real life.

Yeah, but when work is getting done it's the men who are doing the work. People may be standing around at times waiting for something else to get done, but if there's a woman it's always her doing the standing around.
/r/MGTOW27/07/19 05:05 PM
10

Yeah, the woman get put on the easy jobs because they can't do the real work. Here's what people don't understand. Flag work and other tasks like it were used to spell guys. It was a break. Maybe your back is bothering you but you can't take a day off work. The role gave flexibility to the crew. But now with women taking the job full time men are now forced to work when they shouldn't physically and just wreck themselves sooner and younger. Fuck you women.

What the hell. Over something so absolutely stupid and she goes to the entire internet for validation. It was essentially like a constant ice pick pain behind my left eye. Pretty bad and put up with it for over a year before seeing a neurologist. Indomethacin was the first thing he tried and I started feeling some relief in the first 24 hours. Definite relief in a few days. It took about a year for it to go completely. I was lucky.

Yeah. Apparently she had a lot of regrets in the years to follow. Took up with a guy, wasn't able to have a kid, and they ended after a few years. She could have had a good thing with us. I'm not a bad guy. Not complicated. Don't need a lot of things. A family with her would have been nice. Sure, this is often some bitterness at what we feel is an unfairness in life. We even have a term for it, red pill rage. But once we move beyond that, accept life as it is, learn stoicism, you see a lot of examples here of men living life on their own terms. The industry is too full of people not cut out to run a company. Or be in a position of authority at all. That's about $12.50 an hour. A friend of mine does Skip the Dishes and she finds it ok, too. You have to figure in the toll on your car but when it comes to income taxes she can claim a certain amount per kilometer. She also claims the portion of her living room area compared to her apartment (~25%) multiplied by rent and utilities on her income tax as business expenses. This because she does the paperwork for the job in her living room.

Being young, early 20's, no experience and the fact we are all raised to think this fantasy is how it will really be is what does it. Experience teaches us but that takes time and disappointment. It's OK but like hell I'm putting any feelings on the line this time. Just for kicks and fun. That's all. Fuck her.

Don't fuck with the based Koreans. You never heard about the roof top Koreans during the '92 LA riots? You want to BE a roof top Korean. Yeah, they're Asians but they've passed into American lore.

I'm in my 50's now. Something I found very helpful was to find people who I wanted to be like in some way. Maybe it was a solid career, good finances, physical fitness, whatever, and then set a goal of achieving what they did. Having a mentor is also invaluable. That can be when you're in school, if you're learning a trade or new job, physical training. The problem is giving women power. They have no idea how to handle it and have no concept of consequences, especially long term and for other people. You see this in the workplace all the time. An ex always like to bring up how she was raped when she was a young woman. But the "rapist" was her boyfriend. And she kept seeing for a year or so after. So ... But she loves bringing up the fact that she was "raped" when it suits her, will let her wiggle out of something or just garner attention. It's all bullshit with them. They're all children.

I think it's just the stage of realization some of us are at. We generally come here after we've been burned by a woman or women and so there is still a lot of red pill rage going on. For the rest of us that have moved on and look at MGTOW as a general way of life, there's a lot more discussion on fitness, finances, career, etc.

When I was in that situation I stayed at a homeless shelter while I saved up first and last. Check out the local Salvation Army. They'd be able to steer you right. There were also a lot of social services in the area I was living in that would help, such as food and meals, showering, laundry, housing search, etc. Single room occupancy hotels can be ok but while you're getting on your feet but you got to watch for the other clientele.

Always remember these numbers when you're talking about the general public: 50% of people have an IQ less than 100. 1 in 2. 25% have less than 90 IQ ... 1 in 4. 15% have less than 85 IQ ... about 1 in 6 Less than 83 cuts you off from US military service. You're too dumb to do even the most basic shit. So what ... 1 in 7? Most people are idiots.

At 16 start taking what you will be doing as a career seriously. You don't have to make any hard and fast decisions now but start paying attention. Seek out other men and ask about their work. Both pros and cons. Nothing wrong with a university education if it's going to lead to a good career but don't blow off a trade, either. It can be good money with more stability than the more traditional professional work.

As far as kids go I'll take care of kith and kin. But that's it. Women are on their own.

Check out his blog. This was an odd tangent for him. I find what he has to say, and especially the comment sections, very worthwhile. It's mostly culture, politics, some music and other stuff. I think he went off the rails on this one, though. First time I've seen it and he's been around for years. He was the owner of Alpha Game Plan when it was active. Still a worthwhile site to check out. And yes, he's a Christian.

Some statistics to keep in mind. 50% of the population has an IQ under 100. 25% are under 90. That's 1 in 4. 15% are under 85. About 1 in 6. Think about those odds whenever you're talking to some rando. And we talking thots here so the 15% becomes 25. 25 is now 50 and 50 is 75. They are dumb. They are not worth dealing with. They are not even worth thinking about. Go your own way.

Going through the comments I get that's it's more about taking the proper steps to find the one NAWALT out there. You must earn her, I guess. He's a very smart man. Opinionated. Quite successful and definitely does things his way. But he's projecting his experiences onto all men and it just doesn't work that way. I would love to be able to go back to traditional Western culture and civilization but it's gone and not coming back. We have to live in the world as it is and understand the odds are v…

Yeah. It's kind of like demanding we walk into machine gun fire in no man's land. Sure, the odds are very much against surviving but be a man and count on being the one or two that don't get mowed down. No thank you. Count me out.
/r/MGTOW18/06/19 03:53 PM
2

No bullshit. I don't operate that way. And what is wrong with traditional conservatism? You imply it's inherently bad but its absence today seems to be exactly what brought us to the state of women in the West and why men are rejecting them. And if he has arguments against MGTOW why not listen to them? I don't agree with everything he says but I'm old enough to know it more than pays of to just shut up and listen at times.

New adventures await me. Exactly this. I'm in my late 50's and have had to start over a number of times in my life. Marriage ended. Jobs lost. Friends' betrayal. They all suck but life really doesn't give us an option except to keep moving forward. And I've ended up in new and better places a year later that I would never have if those upsets hadn't happened. Hang in there. You've already got the right attitude. You'll do fine.
/r/MGTOW18/06/19 02:46 PM

I tutored a young girl, about 17, for a year once. We would end up chitchatting about different things over time and believe me, she understood exactly what women are all about. She had zero illusions. Cracked me up with the observations she would make. Red pilled as fuck.
/r/MGTOW18/06/19 01:51 PM

Well done. I had to start from zero some years ago, too. It can look pretty bleak I know, but I found it was a matter of just putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving forward. One of the things I had to learn was that people will let you down. They will disappoint you. So it's important not to have to depend on others for your own validation. I wish I could dig the article up. This goes back three decades easy. And the town was picked because it was so "average" American, at least as America was at the time. Look back through history. Men have always been disposable. We got along very well. Very similar interests. Could complete each other's sentences. Weirdly that exists. But there were warning signs. A big feminist past. I Googled "show-gar" as I'd never heard of it and came up with this as the top suggestion. Realtree.com Editor Will Brantley makes the mistake of putting his wife, Michelle, on the front of the boat and in prime shooting position. She makes the most of it by ridiculing his every miss and drilling one of the largest long-nose gar taken while bowfishing in Kentucky. A lady bow fishing gar off a boat in Kentucky? You'll find we're very supportive of each other as well. And I don't mean in the touchy feely bullshit you see in other subs. Guys here really care and want to help out with advice if they can. It's a nice place to come to.

Fuck, I remember early on my ex going on about me being put off about sex when she was having her period. God, the shaming language. Stupid cunt.

I understand what you're saying. But in the workplace you may not make friends with something like that and could definitely make enemies. I have a tendency to speak my mind as well but in these times that can be career ending. Personally I try to choose the side of caution.

A mathematician? That's awesome. I'm jealous. Would love just to be able to work at that but can't really in my job as an engineer. Even the title research engineer doesn't cut it.

There is a bible quotation I like, "I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves." My best advice would be to find your people who you can get to know and trust. MeetUp groups, hunting groups, gun ranges. You'll have to figure it out yourself but it's always better to have a group of like minded friends you can talk to and relax around. But out in the world you always have to be on your guard. There's a good book called The 48 Laws of Po…

Most women have no personalities. They are children. And the few that have what you might consider personality weaponize it to manipulate men.

You might want to check out The 48 Laws of Power regarding work. It's a bit more Machiavellian than how I want to behave but it sure as hell opens your eyes as to how other people will operate. The are always bad actors out there. Being aware and thinking ahead on how to respond to them can save a lot of trouble in your career and your life.

Yes, I've been reading about the Stoics for the last year or so. Very useful guidelines for living. There's also an r/Stoicism subreddit here that's pretty good.

That's a good attitude to have. When I was younger I would get bitter over things that happened to me or I felt I brought onto myself. I finally came to understand it's far better to maintain indifference and take away as much as I can from the experience. Much that happens to us we have very little control over anyway. Just keep a get on with it attitude and it's far better. I think they call that maturity. :) People also respect men who can maintain composure and equanimity in any circumstance…

Identify what can be fixed and what can't This is the biggest lesson in life. Don't try to change others around you because that takes a lot of effort and persuasion. Hey, thank you for this. It helped clarify an issue in my career at the moment. Good luck with everything.

There is NOTHING to gain from telling people about yourself. At the least, they will resent you, and at worst, cause problems with your employment. Very true. A few men come by being this way naturally but for most of us we have to learn from hard experience.

I've had that exact thing happen to me but with immigrants. But I was young, naive and inexperienced. I had to learn to protect myself, that's all. Parents and especially research publications are carefully vetted for just this reason.

That's 60 or so years ago so you're asking men who are 80 plus. How many men that age do you really think are hanging out on this sub? Although fake replies could be pretty hilarious.

I'm an EE engineer, B.Eng., M.Eng., Ph.D. Did postdoc work. Worked in industry about 25 years. Patents and publications to my name. I did ok. What you don't understand is that you've only been working 3 years. And with all that education you just became a coder. A developer. Probably the most dumbed down role in IT there is. They don't call you code monkeys for nothing. If you want recognition then I would you suggest you start working on your career and start making real contributions to th…

That's great about your land. Fracking is interesting. From what I've read about it it's a one off. It takes a lot of capital to make it work and the near zero interest rates from quantitative easing from '08 was what made it feasible. But only something like 10% of the companies drilling actually make money. The industry rides almost entirely on rolled over debt. It's a great ride and some people made fortunes but it will end. And once the reserves are depleted that's it. You come across any is…

Vox Day is getting sniped as well. A point made in comments at his site is this is in anticipation of a regulatory crack down that's in the pipe for all of these companies. Google's system outage last week was linked to them removing evidence by some anon insider.

An NGO, eh? They are just rackets for money laundering and massive skims. Note that in addition to the funding by the four partners they list they are up front about asking for donations, help organizing fundraising events and getting people to work for free. Clicking through a couple of the partners and you get a sniff of UN involvement as well. Just a scam.

That 150,000 /yr salary is great, too, but it can disappear in a blink when the company is sold, the jobs are outsourced overseas, they bring in immigrants to replace you. A reorg. A recession. Anything. I've been in the tech field for a few decades now and have seen it often.

Wait until you're in your mid 50's. And having a woman to see occasionally who isn't into drama and you have similar interests you enjoy talking about and can enjoy the same activities is a nice bonus in life. Seriously, what the fuck do you think I am? 20?

I've had the same kind of thing with a couple of women. We go out. Have a nice time. But they're immediately on that there are no sparks so that's it. Then months later I get a hello, how are things, from them. I never bother replying. If there aren't immediate tingles then it's off for them. And I'm talking 40 year old women (I'm older).
