This is why when you get divorced you lose a lot of your “friends” who are married. Your life choices make them question their own.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/07/21 12:35 AM

Exactly. It’s a fave of my teen boys!!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/03/21 01:27 AM

I take my teen boys to the Cheesecake Factory and would never go there on a date.

Most likely he didn’t. 😉

This made me laugh but I recently met a Dan on OLD who thus far seems hvm. I guess time will tell 😂😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/09/20 08:29 PM

This is exactly how I read it. He’s been on the apps for months and I guess it’s not working. Meanwhile I’ve met a nice guy who may be a hvm.

This is so true!

I edited my post to add a short version of the backstory
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/09/20 08:00 AM

Pretty sure you are exactly right. He’s been on all dating apps constantly and I guess it’s not going well for him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/09/20 07:57 AM
6

😂😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/09/20 07:56 AM

He is so that type. After our breakup he sent me a pic of the 37 year old he was allegedly dating. I guess she got sick of his ass too because he keeps messaging me.

This is how I feel too
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/09/20 10:45 PM
20

I’m 47 so we may be looking for different things. I like to ask about their family relationships. If they had a tough childhood and haven’t dealt with that it’s a big red flag problem to me. I like to ask what they are looking for in dating/relationship. I ask what things are important or deal breakers to them. I like to ask what makes them happiest and what do they like to spend money on. I ask what upsets them or makes them angry.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/08/20 05:28 PM

My ex called me insecure too but it’s nonsense
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/08/20 04:22 PM

This is sooooo true! I spent way too much time trying to get my ex to be a decent guy and he’s just not and never will be.

It’s soooo annoying. I never have problems meeting people in person but now with covid that hard so here I am on these stupid apps.

This is such a great reminder!

Such a good point. I had a physician from a well respected teaching hospital beg me to come to his house for a first date at the height of the pandemic!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/08/20 11:37 PM

And the men have set up their online dating accounts. True story
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/08/20 08:19 PM

Ok he broke your nose? Wtf. What the hell happened?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/08/20 01:11 AM

I literally reply back to them and tell them they are too old for me and should focus on women in their own age group 😂😂. I’m 47 and look fit and youthful and get 70 years olds messaging me
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/08/20 04:43 PM

Then they call that woman psycho and make up a whole story.

Sadly I’ve actually said this about online dates because most of them just talk about themselves.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/08/20 01:01 AM
8

So gross. Men have no shame
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/08/20 09:22 AM

It’s funny too because many are proud of the fact they look like shit and say they have a “dad bod”

I really needed this today. Thanks!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/07/20 09:10 PM

And those same guys are “looking for something casual” 😂😂😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/07/20 11:05 PM
85

It really is tedious all these gross men who can only comment on your appearance on these apps. Most of them look like shit and don’t take care of themselves at all.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/07/20 08:09 PM
31

She’s known the guy since March and moved in with him. WTF
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/20 01:09 PM

I’ve definitely noticed that I’ve saved so much money since I broke up with the ex boyfriend. Good for you!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/07/20 07:51 PM

It only gets worse...unfortunately
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/07/20 05:42 PM
9

I’ve been doing the same thing during pandemic working out like crazy!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/07/20 12:48 PM
4

I think this is an important lost because a lot of men have serious childhood trauma that they have not dealt with. I recently ended a relationship with one of those guys. He’s now in therapy but should have been many years ago.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/07/20 03:36 AM
13

I know exactly what you mean. Although I am still attempting online dating. It feels like the men at my age are so extremely flawed.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/07/20 03:31 AM
9

Yes this happened with my ex bf. I thought he was too short plus he had Invisalign and I just wasn’t that into him but we became friends and then I really fell hard for him. So it’s possible.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/07/20 12:48 AM
17

So true. My ex would describe himself as dominant but also would drink too much so struggle to cum and of course that was my fault. lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/07/20 12:40 AM
1

No that’s not why bc this is apparently a recent complication of his diabetes
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/07/20 06:15 PM
18

You guys are awesome! Thanks for the responses so far. It gets better/worse. Years ago he was diagnosed with diabetes but did nothing to manage his condition and has some nerve damage as a result. He informed me that he can’t get an erection without injecting some medication into his penis! Wtf?!?

Omg what is it with guys doing that? I’m a real estate investor and have been for 15 years and had a guy mansplaining that to me he was from match. Lol

I love this so much! Thank you

This is exactly what my ex boyfriend is telling everyone. The sad part is some people are listening to him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/05/20 08:31 PM

My ex was like this but i didn’t dump him until a lot later....you did the right thing.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy19/05/20 01:46 AM

I’m so glad you found a hvm. The puking story reminded me of when my ex (age 50) got very drunk at a concert and peed all over the bathroom floor in our hotel room not just missed the toilet. The next morning he just left it and made no effort to clean up after himself. Disgusting!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/05/20 10:02 PM

Yes I always google check linked in etc

I literally only met him one time at a public park.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/05/20 12:44 PM

I would tell his wife.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/05/20 09:33 AM
26

My ex literally said that I am 50 and alone. I’m actually 47 and he’s 50. Lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/05/20 03:29 AM
9

My ex was exactly the same with a former gf. It’s toxic. Don’t move in with him as he’s gonna make you miserable. He’s keeping her around for an ego boost. It’s not a healthy situation.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/05/20 08:40 AM
15

Love this comment. It’s really my goal to raise hvm. I have two boys.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/05/20 09:55 PM

So in my personal experience engineers don’t deal well with emotion. They remain detached and analytical. So I’d agree no engineers.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/20 02:17 AM
6

No engineers.... that is great advice. Can I ask how you meet dateable men or have you just given up?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/05/20 11:05 PM
7

He’s married
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/05/20 03:22 PM
5

Make a list of all the terrible things he did. I put it in my iPhone notes. So whenever I feel like I’m missing him I look at the list.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy03/05/20 03:17 PM
-2

I really don’t care what he says. We don’t have the same social circle and it was cathartic.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/04/20 03:44 AM
2

For me a guy who plays video games is a huge turn off. I feel like it’s a juvenile pursuit. It’s what my teenage sons do. It seems that the guys who do it get very obsessed with it and spend a lot of time on it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/04/20 01:30 AM

I was the 25 year old other woman to a 42 year old wealthy man. I was a struggling law student and I met this guy who didn’t tell me he was married. He lived in England but traveled to the US frequently for business. He showered me with gifts ( Rolex, bmw, etc) and attention. I was young and dumb. I also have a very difficult relationship with my parents and it has really caused me to attach to the wrong type of men several times. I’m working on it!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/04/20 08:54 AM
5

The list is such a great thing. I did that and it helps so much.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/04/20 08:33 AM
7

It sucks and I get it. I’m going through the same thing. One thing that helps is I wrote a list of all the bad things about him. It’s in my notes on iPhone and I just open it and read it back to myself frequently.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/04/20 08:32 AM
3

I’m also in online dating apps right now and I am amazed at the men who message me. I’m fit attractive and have an advanced degree. I get messages from overweight sloppy looking guys who are barely employed. It’s crazy.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/04/20 01:18 PM
7

The wacky part is that he makes significantly more money than I do. I just am very conservative with my money and don’t like to have debt.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/04/20 08:37 PM
167

I have a similar story. I’m 47 and own my own home with no mortgage. My ex bf is 50 and has a mortgage payment Of $1500/month. We were talking about lining together me moving to his place. I was planning to keep my place and rent it out for $2000/month. The costs of my place ins tax and hoa are $500/month. So he wanted me to pay $1500/month “rent” to live with him. Lol. I rejected that and dumped him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/04/20 04:37 AM
27

And I just broke up with my boyfriend. These apps are a total freak show right now!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/04/20 07:29 PM
17

Yep I learned that. We broke up once before about 6 months ago and I foolishly took him back. It’s final this time and my list is helping a lot
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/04/20 02:51 PM
87

Omg. Thank you for this reminder. I just broke up with my bf a week ago and I literally made a list of his bad behaviors so I can keep looking at it in moments of weakness. Here are a few highlights: alcoholic who drinks 2-4 bottles of wine/day, mean to his own kids and mine, gets triggered by minor and unpredictable things, stopped working out, incredibly messy, turns to texting ex gf when we have conflict, sex has been terrible for months.....there are so many more. Ugh

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/04/20 01:21 AM

Thanks for all the comments ladies! I’m 47 so this is kind of my dating pool. Either the divorced men who probably got rejected by other women for real reasons or the men who have never married at this age. The positive side of covid 19 is that they can’t really date and have to communicate. LOL
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/04/20 12:24 AM

Great advice!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy11/04/20 12:22 AM

Thank you for your thoughtful response. I was married for 13 years before getting divorced and it’s so true that it’s natural to want companionship. I get so tired of hearing about how I should just enjoy being single. I am not needy I have my own career house and money just want someone like minded to share it with.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 10:01 PM
5

Not impossible but a lot of times my married friends plan couples trips and I don’t love being the third wheel
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 05:32 PM
16

i enjoy having a boyfriend. I don't in any way "need" one, but i like having one.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 03:44 PM

I travel with friends. I’ve actually been to 31 countries.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 03:32 PM
15

yes i have a large group of friends many of whom are married.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 03:21 PM

he's always been someone who drinks but it's ramped up considerably in the last 6 months or so and the result is that he picks petty fights with me and everyone else.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 03:02 PM
18

I get what you are saying. I have a great life, job I love my own house, kids, etc. However, I do want a partner to travel and make plans with.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/04/20 03:01 PM

Yikes!

I just broke up with my boyfriend during this quarantine. We’ve been dating over two years and honestly his drinking has been a problem and recently gotten worse. Anyhow we were playing Pictionary with our teen boys and the teens were winning so bf accuses my son of cheating and then storms off. He then told me he “can’t deal” with my kids. Boy bye! Should’ve dumped him ages ago. I actually feel really great about it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/03/20 08:30 AM
42

An adult man who plays video games is a non starter for me.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 02:54 PM
27

Great advice! My ex husband never worked out and ate like shit. High on my list for a boyfriend is someone who is active and eats healthy...especially as I’m now 47 so at the age where those bad habits tend to catch up with people.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy18/02/20 02:45 PM
1

He’s really great with my kids. Our kids have spent a lot of time together because he has a lake house where we spend most summer weekends so we’ve nearly been living together already. Our kids are older all boys in their teens so they freely express their opinions about things.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/02/20 01:26 PM
4

I really find this to be true as well. I think a lot of times men aren’t good at talking things over or seeking therapy so they don’t deal with their issues
